We’ve only got information about one of the bosses in Spirit Tracks at the moment, but this is bound to change as more information becomes available. Make sure to bookmark this page and check back soon for more information about bosses in the upcoming Zelda title.

Stagnox

Link encounters Stagnox at the end of a forest-type dungeon, as well as the first dungeon in the game. Link he receives the Whirlwind item from this dungeon, which can be used to pick up and move items.

Flighting the Blue Larvae

Fighting the blue larvae

The battle begins with Stagnox flying in the air, launching small, blue larvae at Link. These larvae, however, are not meant to be killed – when struck with a sword, they turn into spiked blue spheres. When Stagnox returns to the ground, use the Whirlwind to launch these spiked blue spheres at it. They’ll explode in a blast of flaming glory!

Stagnox, flipped asunder

Stagnox, flipped asunder

This blast will toss Stagnox high into the air, flipping it over and exposing its weak spot: A glowing purple backside. This tender area is completely vulnerable to Link’s sword – thus, Link must  run up and have at it until the beast flips itself back over.

This entire process repeats until the beast falls – just keep slashing that purple area until Stagnox is vanquished. Once this happens, you’ll receive a heart container and… well, something else! We won’t know what that is until we get more information.

Mallard, the Demon King

We don’t know much about Mallard at this point, though we assume that he will most likely be the final boss. We will have more information on the battle with Mallard as the game nears release.
