Beamos
Found: Goron Temple, Temple of Courage

Special Techniques: They shoot lasers out of their eyes

Damage Required: Technically Invincible.
Description: A Beamos can be temporarily stunned by being hit in the eye with an arrow or a bomb, but as soon as you let it out of your sight and leave that screen, it will repair itself. Luckily, it rotates slowly, so it is easy to get your shot in.

Description: Fire bubbles are flying skulls surrounded with a red glow. Your shield will not block against their attacks, so don’t come in contact with one. It may be best to disable it with a boomerang before stepping in for the kill.
Bubble (Ice)
Found: Temple of Ice
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: They will freeze you if they make contact with you.
Speed: Medium
Damage Required: Single Arrow, Boomerang/Sword Combo
Description: Ice Bubbles are flying skulls surrounded by a blue smoke. You can kill them in one strike with an arrow, but that can be difficult, so you may prefer disabling them with a boomerang and then hitting them with your sword.
ChuChu (Red)
Found: Most places.
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: none.
Speed: Slow
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: Red ChuChus are slow and weak. Just hit them once and they’re dead. All they can do is glide slowly towards you, so if you take damage from one, it’s really your own fault.
ChuChu (Green)
Found: Temple of Courage.
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: Shrink into puddles to avoid attacks.
Speed: Slow
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: These ChuChus are similar to the red variety, except that they can shrink into puddles, avoiding your attacks. However, you can still kill them in their puddle form by using a thrust attack (drawing a line towards them using your stylus) on them.
ChuChu (Yellow)
Found: Most places.
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: Electrical field.
Speed: Slow
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: As with the other ChuChus, these only take a Single strike to defeat, but you cannot strike them while their electrical field is up, or you will take damage yourself and your map screen will go blurry. Stunning them first with an arrow or boomerang will remove this electrical field.
ChuChu (Blue)
Found: Goron Island, Goron Temple.
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: Electrical Field

Damage Required: Two hits with a sword.
Description: These rare ChuChus are similar to the yellow ChuChu in that they have an electrical field and need to be stunned first, but they can take an extra hit before dying.
ChuChu (Rock)
Found: Most places.

Speed: Slow
Damage Required: One Bomb/Grapple/Hammer to remove their armor, then a Single strike to defeat.
Description: These ChuChu will appear from under rocks when you lift them, so be careful when lifting rocks. After getting rid of their armor by bombing them, grappling them or smashing them with a hammer, they are the same as any other Red ChuChu.
Cucco
Found: Mercay Island, Molida Island, Zauz’s Island

Description: The Cucco don’t actually attack you unless you attack them, but once you draw their rage, they are unstoppable killing machines. Unstoppable killing machines that turn red and attack in packs. So, if you’re going to abuse a cucco, get ready to run for the nearest door.

Description: As the name implies, they’re basically plants with eyes. They pop out of the sea near you and shoot seeds, which deal 1 heart worth of damage. Since they pop up so close to your ship, you’re also in danger of running into them, dealing another heart of damage to your ship.
Eye Slug

Description: By flying fish, we mean fish that jump out of the water, rather than some kind of weird bird. Just thought I’d clear this up, seeing as it’s a fantasy game. They’ll try to run into your ship, but they’ll die from one shot of your cannon.
Gel
Found: Temple of Fire, Temple of Ice, Temple of Courage

Special Techniques: slow you down by clinging to you.
Speed: Fast
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: These are small green blobs that are the result of the killing of a Zol, a larger green blob. Unlike the Zols, the Gels do no damage to you, latching on to you and slowing you down instead. Just shake them off by rubbing your stylus left and right to get them off you so you can finish them off.
Gyorg
Found: The sea
Damage Dealt: 1 ship heart.

Damage Required: 1 cannon shot.
Description: Gyorgs are shark-like fish that usually travel in groups of two or three. They will try to ram your boat, so you need to jump over them when they do this. They’ll die from a single shot, but they are fast, so you need to get your timing right.
Hardhat Beetle

Damage Required: Hammer then single strike.
Description: Hardhat Beetles are invincible to hits until you flip them over with your hammer. Then attack their squishy undersides with your sword. Or your hammer again, it doesn’t really matter.
Hiploop

Description: Basically, Hiploops are beetles wearing masks. There are two main ways to defeat them. You can wait until they charge, then get behind them and strike from behind, or use your grappling hook to pull off their masks then attack them.
Jolene

Special Techniques: Dash attack (deals full heart of damage)

Damage Required: Several hits to defeat, unkillable as she will retreat.
Description: Jolene is a pirate who has a grudge against Linebeck, and appears with her ship on the Great Sea. When she pulls back her sword and uses a dash attack on you, hit her with your sword. Repeat this a few times and you will be prompted by the game to rub back and forth on your screen. Doing this will knock her sword away and she’ll go away.
Keese
Found: Most temples.

Description: Keese are bat-creatures that fly around and try to run into you. Any attack will defeat them. Don’t confuse these with the Fire Keese or Ice Keese, however, as they each require separate strategies.

Description: Fire Keese are like normal keese, but they’re on fire. Your shield will not protect against their attacks, so it’s safest to use your boomerang to defeat them.
Keese (Ice)

Description: Ice Keese look like normal keese, except that they are surrounded by blue smoke. You can’t attack them with your sword, or you will be frozen, so attack with a ranged weapon, such as a boomerang or a bow.
Like Like

Description: The Like Likes are back for their ninth Zelda game, and still just as ugly as ever. These reddish-brown tubeish creatures will eat your shield, but luckily (unlike several other games in the series) you can retrieve your shield by killing it. Throw bombs into it to kill it, but if you don’t want to get near them, you can also use your bow or your grappling hook to kill them.
Mine

Description: Black and spiky. There are two kinds of mines – moving mines, with yellow eyes, and stationary mines, with green eyes. It may be difficult to completely avoid contact while salvaging, just make sure that you don’t break your Salvage Arm.
Mini Cyclone

Description: Mini Cyclones have no attacks, they just sit there. They will only hurt you if you sail into them. They are sometimes hard to see, but just pay attention and you shouldn’t have any trouble with them.
Miniblin

Damage Required: Two strikes.
Description: Miniblins travel and attack in large groups. They are very noisy and have a distinctive screech. There is another type of Miniblin, a sea variant with fins instead of ears. These pirate Miniblin travel in boats and may often try to board your own boat.
Moldorm
Found: Temple of the Ocean King, Temple of Courage
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.

Damage Required: Three strikes or one arrow
Description: Moldorm are large blue centipede-like creatures with pink tails. Hitting them head-on does not work, so you need to strike the pink tail at their backside. Three swings of your sword will kill them, or a single arrow to the pink tail.
Moldworm
Found: Isle of Gust, Temple of Wind

Damage Required: Invincible, bomb to distract
Description: Moldworms are large yellow worms. They find you by noise, so if you run too fast on the sand it will attract them. You cannot kill them, but you can distract them by throwing a bomb, which is much louder than a footstep, then get away from the sand. If you’re too slow and they catch you, you should scribble your stylus back and forth to escape.
Octorok (Land)

Description: These red Octorok appear on the land, and shoot rocks at you. You can stop them from firing their rocks rapidly at you by hitting them with an arrow or a boomerang, and can kill them with your sword.
Octorok (Sea)

Special Techniques: Shoots bombs

Description: The sea Octorok resemble the Octorok from Wind Waker, and will circle around your ship. They are different to their land variant in that they shoot bombs rather than rocks. They will die from a single cannon shot.
Patra

Description: Patras are giant eyeballs with wings. They’re very slow, with no attacks other than basic contact, so they are easily shot down by your cannon and pose little threat.
Phantom

Special Techniques: Steals time from your timer upon contact.
Speed: Varies
Damage Required: Invincible unless you have Phantom Sword
Description: There are three types of Phantoms. The regular blue Phantom, the speedy red Phantom, and the gold Phantom, who are slow but have the ability to teleport to your location. If you shoot them with an arrow or smash them with your hammer they will be stunned, but you cannot actually kill them without the Phantom Sword.
Phantom Eye
Found: Temple of the Ocean King

Special Techniques: Cling onto you to slow you.
Speed: Medium
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: Phantom Eyes are the sentries of the Phantoms, warning them and alerting them to your presence. Deal with them as soon as possible, or they will draw all the Phantoms on the floor to you. You can strike it with your sword, but it is safer to shoot it with an arrow before it sees you. They can also be stunned with a boomerang. If it manages to cling on to you, scribble your stylus onto the screen to get it off you.
Poe
Found: Ghost Ship

Special Techniques: Can disappear, teleport, shoot fireballs.
Speed: Slow.
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: The Poes are spirits that will shoot blue fire at you. Hitting them with your sword is hard, as you cannot hit them while they are invisible, and they will disappear often. It is easiest to kill them (or defeat them, anyway) with a ranged weapon, like a boomerang or a bow.
Pols Voice
Found: Temple of Courage

Special Techniques: None
Speed: Medium
Damage Required: Noise/sword combo.
Description: Pols Voices look vaguely like giant rabbit heads. In previous games, you defeated them with loud noises from items such as bombs, but they are defeated in a unique way in Phantom Hourglass, which is to say that you stun it by yelling at your DS. If you happen to be walking outside or in a restaurant or the like when facing a Pols Voice, you may wish to consider closing your DS and defeating it in a place with more privacy, because yelling at your DS in a public place is quite an embarrassing thing to do.
Rat

Description: Rats are small purple creatures that look, as you may have guessed, like rats. They are small and fast, but they only require a single strike to defeat, and move randomly rather than run at you, so they aren’t very dangerous. Some of them carry keys.
Reapling

Special Techniques: Can move through walls.

Damage Required: Invincible
Description: Reaplings are ghosts wielding sickles. Watch out for their attacks, as they deal two entire hearts of damage with each strike. You can avoid them by entering a safe zone, or stun them by hitting them in the back with an arrow. They will not notice you if you run while their back is to you, so wait until this is the case before heading to your next safe zone.
Rope

Description: Rupee Likes are the same as Like Likes in most aspects, except that they suck away your Rupees rather than shields, and that they have an antennae with a rupee on it. They originally appear on your screen as a rupee, revealing themselves when you try to take it There are three different kinds – those with green rupees, blue rupees and red rupees. This tells you how many rupees they will take from you at one time.
Skulltula
Found: Ghost Ship

Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: Skulltulas are giant spiders with that drop down on you. If a Cubus Sister is following you and sees one, it will scream and attract the attention of Reaplings, so defeat them quickly. Unlike previous games, they only require one hit to defeat.
Stalfos
Found: Isle of Ruin, Isle of the Dead

Special Techniques: Throw bones (some)

Damage Required: Two Strikes
Description: Stalfos are the only enemy that have appeared in every Zelda game so far. There are two different types of Stalfos, one that throws bones at you, and another that attacks with a sword. You can attack them with your sword, but you can also grapple them or smash them with your hammer to defeat them.
Takkuri
Found: Many islands

Special Techniques: Will cause you to drop rupees.

Description: They are crow-like birds that sit on trees. They will swoop down and take your rupees as well as deal damage, so attack them quickly with your sword when they approach.
Tektike
Found: Isle of Ember
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart
Special Techniques: None
Speed: Fast
Damage Required: Two strikes (blue), Three strikes (Red)
Description: Tektites are giant four-legged spiders that hop around everywhere. There are two types of tektite, blue and red, the only difference being the number of hits the red can take. Just attack them with your sword to defeat them.
Wizzrobe
Found: Temple of the Ocean King
Damage Dealt: None.
Special Techniques: They will steal 15 seconds of your hourglass time if they hit you.
Speed: Medium
Damage Required: Single strike.
Description: These guys are invisible until they’re just about to attack, but you can see where they are because they appear as skulls on the minimap. They will move toward you whenever your back is turned, so watch your mini-map, then turn around at the right moment and kill them. They will steal 15 seconds of your time if they hit you, but defeating them will give you 30 seconds for your hourglass, so defeating them is worth it.
Yook
Found: Isle of Frost, Temple of Ice
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: Will inhale and deal a blowing attack for 1 heart.
Speed: Slow
Damage Required: Bomb stun/five strikes combo
Description: Yooks are large monkey-like creatures with clubs. There is a brown variant and a white variant. When they inhale for their blowing attack, throw a bomb into their mouth and it will explode and stun them, so follow it up with five strikes.
Zol
Found: Temple of Fire, Temple of Courage, Temple of Ice
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: None.
Speed: Slow
Damage Required: Single strike
Description: Zols are large green blobs that attack you. If you defeat them by attacking them with your sword, they will turn into two Gels, smaller blobs that will cling on to you.
Zola Warrior (River Zora)
Found: Many caves
Damage Dealt: ½ a heart.
Special Techniques: Spit fire.
Speed: Medium
Damage Required: Five strikes.
Description: Zola Warriors cannot be struck randomly with your sword, as they will defend with their shield, so you need to circumvent it. You can hit them from behind with a boomerang, stunning them long enough to defeat them, or you can get behind them when they use their sword and strike them. They are usually found guarding something.
