Much like Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask contains songs that can be learned and subsequently played to help Link along in his quest. You will find some of the songs are quite familiar, while others are brand new, but will have you humming along nonetheless. Below you will find a list of the songs Link learns throughout the game, as well as where you learn them and what they do, including the two optional “hidden” songs.
Song of Time
![]()
Once you get your stolen Ocarina back from the Skull Kid, you will learn this song from Princess Zelda in the form of a memory. Playing it resets the three day cycle the game operates on and you’ll find yourself back on the morning of the first day, losing all rupees and items like arrows and bombs in the process.
Song of Healing
![]()
Pay a visit to the Happy Mask Salesman after regaining your Ocarina and he will teach this song to you. Not only will it free you from your Deku Scrub form, playing it for certain people will help heal their souls and let them find peace.
Epona’s Song
![]()
Learn this song from Romani at the Ranch after finishing her training game, which consists of popping ten alien shaped balloons. Playing this will summon Epona the horse to you, though not in certain areas like Clock Town.
Song of Soaring
![]()
You will find a large stone tablet with this song engraved on it on top of a ledge near the Deku Palace. Playing this song allows you to warp to any of the several Owl Statues scattered around Termina that you have activated by hitting them with your sword. Warping is the fastest way to get around Termina, and in a game with a three-day limit time is of the essence!
Song of Storms
![]()
Composed by Sharp and Flat, the one-time composers for the Royal Family in Ikana, beat the Iron Knuckle guarding the stone tablet this is engraved on. Play it to placate the spirit of Sharp, who is terrorizing Ikana Village.
Sonata of Awakening
![]()
Link can learn this song from the Monkey being held captive by the Dekus in the Deku Palace. Play it while in Deku form for the Deku King and you’ll be able to gain access to the Woodfall Temple.
Goron Lullaby
![]()
You have to learn this song in two parts. The first part is learned from the Goron Elder, the second from the crying Baby Goron in the Shrine. Play it on the Goron Drums and you’ll lull Gorons big and small to sleep.
New Wave Bossa Nova
![]()
If you collect all the Zora Eggs they will teach you this song. Use it to awaken the sorrowful Lulu from her trance, and she’ll tell you how to get to Great Bay Temple.
Elegy of Emptiness
![]()
Defeat the Ikana King and his two Servants and you’ll learn this song. Playing it creates a strange-looking replica of whatever form plays it, allowing for up to four different statues. These statues can be used to hold down switches and other tasks.
Oath to Order

This song is learned early on the game, immediately following the first dungeon. When you play this song in your final confrontation with Skull Kid the four giants will emerge from their sleep and manage to stop the Moon from falling… at least for a while.
“Hidden” Songs
Inverted Song of Time
![]()
Playing the Song of Time backwards produces the hidden song known as the Inverted Song of Time. After Link plays this song, all events directly related to the flow of time will move at half speed. Note that this does not affect events not dependent on the flow of time, such as an enemy’s attack pattern.
Song of Double Time
![]()
Play all the notes in the Song of Time twice, and something miraculous happens! You will discover the Song of Double Time, which warps time to the next instance of 6:00am or 6:00pm.

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
