Level Eight: Horseback Target Practice

Strategy

Enemies: none
Time allowed: 60 seconds

For this level you will be riding on Epona through Hyrule Field shooting the targets that pop up. The major key to this level is to get all the targets you see, as there are no blue X targets here. The targets will be scattered throughout the field and in the background on the hills. Always shoot the ones in the field first, as the ones in the background tend to stay with you for a while. All the targets you will see are normal targets. You will only receive a large special target at the end of each area if you destroy all the normal targets first. When the starting whistle blows, the first round will start.

Each round is set in a different time of day. For the first round, it will be daylight. The targets are really easy to see, but some of them do tend to hide behind trees. For the first area, there will be 4 targets in the background and 11 that you will come across in the field. If you manage to get all 15 targets, then at the very end a large special target will pop up. Shoot it before exiting the area.

For the second area, the time of day will be late afternoon/early evening, as the sun is setting. The targets here should still be fairly easy to see, but they do sort of blend in with the sun. here there will be 5 targets in the background – some of which are hiding behind trees, so keep your eyes peeled for those – and 12 scattered throughout the field. When you cross the small bridge here, there will be a target on each post, a total of 6 targets, all of which go by very quickly. If you manage to shoot all 17 targets before the area is over, a large special target will pop up at the very end. Shoot it before you exit into the last area.

The last area is a bit more tricky. The setting is a night time setting, and when you start out, all the targets will appear at once (there are none in the background here) and will look like there is a whole more than there really is. There is a total of 19 targets here, and if you manage to shoot them all, another large special target will pop up at the end. Shoot it before time runs out. If you manage to shoot all of the targets in all of the areas, you will receive a bonus. Once time is up, that is the end of the level.

Defender Level: Snowpeak Ruins

Enemies: Wolfos
Time allowed: 60 seconds

In this level you will be on Snowpeak Mountain and in third person shooting mode. This level is another “there is no enemy limit” level, so if you have enemies left over, don’t fret about it. The Wolfos here are quite fast and like to move and jump around a lot, so keep a close eye on them. Your radar here will be extremely helpful as it will tell you where the Wolfos are coming from along with where the flying glowing green monsters are that upgrade your crossbow. The Wolfos are surprisingly easy to kill when they’re not moving all over the place. Just one shot kills them. When time is up, that will be the end of the level.

Boss Level: Darknut Battle

Enemies: Darknut, bats
Time allowed: 90 seconds

The dreaded Darknut battle. If you’ve play Twilight Princess, you will know how hard it is for you to defeat this guys. They do not go down easily. When you start out, the best way to fight the Darknut is by charging your crossbow, then shooting it. If you hit the Darknut, he will release bats that will come to attack you. Kill those, then go repeat what you just did to him. The process will take about 3 tries, then he will try and attack you. When he does, go around to his backside when he swings the sword and shoot. More bats will come out, so kill them. Do that step one more time, and his armor will come off.

Now that his armor is off, he can easily move around very quickly and freely. When he comes in to attack you, shoot him. He will then turn into a large group of bats. Shoot those (mainly the white ones), and repeat that step about two to three times. After about the third try, he will fall down defeated. If you manage to kill him with some time left over, you will receive bonus points.
