Horsehead
This creature is a man with a horse’s head, and he will be the very first boss you meet in the game. He will try to take you out with a powerful spiked-hammer attack, so be aware and avoid this as much as you can. To inflict damage on him, simply jump and swiftly strike his head. If you manage to successfully strike him, he will be knocked back. His armor is pretty heavy, so don’t expect an easy fight! It may be easier to stay over on the left side of the screen. After a few strikes he will be dead, and you will be ready to move on to the next stage in the game!
Helmethead
Soon you will be facing another knight, only this one uses helmets to protect his head. You will need to jump up and knock off the helmets with your sword. He is wearing two helmets, so knock them both off and then his real head will be exposed. Continue to jump and attack the head until he is defeated. The helmets that you knock off will fly around and shoot beams at you, ignore them and concentrate on the head!
Iron Knuckle
Ironknuckle is another knight which you must defeat in order to conquer the third Palace and revive another crystal. This one is a Blue Iron Knuckle who has brought a horse and lance into the battle. He’ll use these to charge at Link from either side of the screen. You will first need to knock him off the horse using the Downthrust, and then fight him like a normal Iron Knuckle.
Carock
This foe is the master of all Wizzrobes, and as you know, all Wizzrobes will try to devastate you with a powerful magic spell! Well, Carock is no different. No means of weapons will harm him at all, for his skull necklace he wears around his neck protects him from physical harm. The way you need to go about killing him is to use your Reflect spell, and give him a taste of his own medicine. Although he seems like an overgrown Wizzrobe, he isn’t. His armor is much stronger than a normal Wizzrobe, and while most will succeed in defeating him with ease, he should never be taken lightly.
Gooma
This giant is nothing is like nothing Link has ever fought before. Gooma will try and protect his Palace with a ball and chain, and a large one at that! The trick to defeating him is to first dodge his attacks by jumping over them, and then run up to him and slash him. From time to time he will wind up a throw, and then you need to run as fast as you feet can carry you! It is unfortunate because Gooma has a whole lot of armor, so you can’t afford to get hit more than a few times. It takes some time to get into the rhythm of how much time you have before he strikes, but when in doubt, run!
Barba
Finally, a real monster to test your skills on! However, Barba is no joke. He is a fearsome opponent that is a descendant of the legendary Volvagia, which means he packs quite a punch! This dragon resides deep below the surface of the hot lava, so, needless to say, he is tough. To do some damage to this creature, you need to sharpen your jumping skills and use them to avoid his attacks, and when you see an opportunity, slash his head and fall back onto your platform! Remember, his head is the only place on his long body that will take damage from your sword. It is important to watch where you jump and to not fall to a fiery death Repeat this process of attacking his face until he is dead. It is essential to use the Jump spell.
Thunderbird
An extravagant foe found in the final area of the Great Palace. The Thunderbird is one of the smartest foes you have encountered thus far, for it practices the art of defense. You must equip and use your Thunder spell immediately when the battle starts to weaken him. His protective shell will now cease to work, and his face, which is his weak point, will be exposed. Keep jumping and stabbing it in the head while avoiding the fireballs it drops. A quick pace and jumping will get you through this battle alive, and don’t forget to cast Shield. He is extremely strong, and your sword is your only means of defeating him. Remember, before entering this arena you will need a full magic meter, so make sure to conserve for this fight!
Shadow Link
The evil wizard has cast Ganon’s soul into the form of your own shadow. This is most likely the hardest fight you will experience in the game, as the shadow can virtually dodge anything you dish at him. Mimicking most of, if not all, of your attacks and defenses, it makes it near impossible to defeat him. Lots of patience and mad slashing with the sword are required. It may help to stay over to the left side of the screen. Can you outwit yourself in a battle of strength and courage? Let’s hope so, so that you can recover the last crystal and help wake the Princess Zelda and save Hyrule again.

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
