Armos Knights

These colossi of the Eastern Palace were created to guard the remains, and to be a worthy test to the owner of the Pendant of Courage. The best strategy to kill them is to remain in either bottom corner of the room and shoot each knight when they are in a row, marching down to the bottom of the screen. Armos Knights can be defeated with three arrows, however if you find your quiver empty, your sword remains as your only substitute. Once there’s one remaining knight left, it will turn red and try to pounce on you. Take a step to the side once it’s above you, and when it lands on the ground, attack! Be quick or you’ll miss your chance. When you’ve vanquished all six knights, the Pendant of Courage will fall from the heavens, and your mission here is done.

Lanmolas

The strongest beasts that reside in the Desert of Mystery. Though they have been unaware of it for centuries, their purpose is to test a hero’s true power against the forces of the Dark World. These worms will dive in and out of the sand to try and strike you. It will be apparent where the worms will emerge from, so be prepared to dodge the debris that fly out from every direction. The absolute fastest way to kill a Lanmola is to successfully shoot it’s head two times with the Ice Rod. If your magic meter is running low, then four hits from bombs or arrows will do it. In the end, if you’re running out of ammunition, then use your trusty sword. It may take eight Whirling Blade attacks to defeat one, but as long as you’re diligent, victory will be yours in no time. You should make note that for every Lanmola you kill, the more and more debris the remaining ones will shoot out. Once all three worms have died, the pendant is yours to claim.

Moldorm

A fitting place for the Queen of Moldorms in the Tower of Hera. After years of deterioration, the floor around her fell and she’s made her thrown on the platform ever since. Although it only takes six swipes of the sword to defeat the beast, this battle isn’t all that easy. Her “Achilles’ heel” can be located at the tip of her tail. She’s a fast critter, and with her immense girth and brute force, it won’t take much effort to knock you off her platform. Every time you fall from her platform, you fall to the floor below, and she regains her health. It should be noted that in the floor below, near the eastern wall, there are many pots, each containing a heart. Only take what you need, because you’ll never know how many times you may fall. To prevent from falling in the first place, try to be on the left side of the platform, away from the edges. If she tackles you, there’s a slim chance of recovering yourself if you press the opposite direction. However for every successful hit of her tail, the faster and stronger she becomes. After she has fallen, the Pendant of Wisdom is yours!

Agahnim

Through his years of studies of the ancient dark magic, Agahnim has many spells in his repertoire. In this battle you must fight fire with fire, or magic with magic to be more precise. Follow Agahnim’s shadow when he teleports away, always try to remain horizontal or vertical from him at a distance. He has three attacks. Magical blue orb, clustered miniature orbs, and lightning. When he shoots a magical blue orb at you, volley it back with your Master Sword to cause him some damage. When he shoots clustered miniature orbs at you, run away from the initial attack and dodge the orbs when they ricochet from the wall. There’s only one position when he shoots lighting at you. If you see Agahnim teleport to the top center of the room, run to far right or left side of the room to dodge his attack. After a few successful hits from volleying his magical blue orbs back, you’ll defeat him, but he’s far from being dead.

Helmasaur King

A treacherous monster that was sent by Ganon to stand guard of the first maiden’s crystal prison. A born fighter; what his small legs lack in, his powerful tail, exponential fire breath, and hard helmet make up for it. As big and scary as this monster can be, he’s quite easy to defeat. First and foremost, is to dodge his attacks: skittering across the room, whipping his tail, and shooting fireballs. The first attack, is simply avoiding him. Now when he uses his tail, he’ll wag his tail behind him, and then whip it at you from either side, so try to dodge as fast as possible. As for the fireballs, he’ll spit one fireball, and then that single one will split into four, and each of those fireballs will split once more. Dodge all of them if possible. Now when it comes to the strategy of killing the beast, first we must expose it’s weak spot by removing it’s helmet. There are two ways to remove the helmet: Hit it with three bombs, or hit it twenty times with your newly acquired Magic Hammer. Once the helmet is removed, you’ll find a large green jewel on the monster’s forehead. That’s the weak spot. Although you can attack it with your sword, it would be wise to use the distant approach by shooting it eight times with your arrows. Once the king’s rein has fallen, collect the crystal as your reward.

Arrghus

These giant jellyfish are usually found in the depth of the ocean, however there’s enough water in this dungeon to sustain this beast. The “puffs” that surround it’s body are called Arrgi. Alone they stand no chance in the wild, but around their host they feed off of the remains of any prey Arrghus has caught. As payment for their food, they contribute in defending Arrghus at whatever cost. There are two stages to this fight. The first stage you must remember to keep yourself at a distance in case Arrghus attacks with his own variation of the Whirling Blade Technique. Equip your Hookshot and tether an Arrgi to you and strike it twice with your sword. Continue doing this until you’ve destroyed all the Arrgi that surround Arrghus’ body. Now the second stage of the battle ensues. When Arrghus leaps off screen, it is your duty to pay attention to his shadow and avoid it at all cost. Attack him when he lands! If not at the moment of impact, then while he’s ricocheting around the room. There are multiple ways of injuring him, but the fastest would be using the Whirling Blade Technique four times. If that way doesn’t appeal to you, then four hits of the hammer, eight hits with the arrow, or eight hits with a normal sword attack will do.

Mothula

For a creature that can take flight, it makes berth underground where it feasts on the multitude of insects that burrow nearby. The patterns on it’s wings imitate the appearance of large eyeballs in order to strike fear into the hearts of it’s larger prey. It’s actual eyes can determine the whereabouts of objects that aren’t visible to the human eye, and its feelers are used to identify things at a closer prospective. In battle, the floor is constantly moving, and so are the spike traps that are on it! The boss itself is a pushover. It will occasionally shoot three rings of fire but they are easy to dodge. As long as your magic meter is full, and your Fire Rod is equip, you have everything that’s needed to set this moth aflame!

Blind the Thief

The King of Thieves. His name precedes him, even in the Light World. At one time he resided in Kakariko Village, but now he’s made his new home underneath the Village of Outcasts. After Hyrule’s Soldiers purged him out from his old hideout, Agahnim sentenced him and his fellow thieves to the Dark World where he has future plans for his talents. As for the lingering few whom weren’t caught, they had to make a new hideout in the Lost Woods and have been living their ever since. With the Dark World’s effects upon him and his men, their appearance may have changed, but their old ways haven’t. Even in the Dark World you’ll find Blind’s henchmen lurking about, thieving others from their riches, and awaiting for their boss’ next order. He may have mastered his newly found powers, but he still has a weakness for the light. If there’s one word of advice about facing him it’s this: Dodge! Dodge! Dodge! Keep yourself above Blind the Thief and strike his head with your Hammer three times. After his head has been decapitated, it will float around the room aimlessly shooting fireballs. While he’s circling inside the room, move left and right to dodge his laser attacks. Keep hitting his head until a total of three heads have fallen off.

Kholdstare

This large eyeball has lain dormant ever since an avalanche of ice fell on it a long time ago. As the years went by, it’s been storing enough energy to multiply and make small tremors in hopes of breaking free. To defeat him, thaw him out of his icy prison with eight shots of your Fire Rod while dodging clumps of ice falling from the ceiling. Once he’s broken free, he’ll multiply by three and bounce around the room. Hit each eyeball six times with your sword to defeat it. If you prefer to use your Fire Rod, it would be wise to have an extra supply of Green Potion if you run out.

Vitreous

This mountainous eye sits in it’s own cytoplasm that is quite harmful to those who aren’t of it’s species. When dealing with an imminent threat, it will conduct a powerful electrical discharge and then send the Mini Vitreous to finish off the job. However, when it’s dealing with prey, it does the opposite. After using it’s tactics, and there’s still no success, Vitreous will come out and take a better look of things from a much closer prospective by using the same amateur attack the miniature ones did, but at a larger scale. Since Vitrenous takes up half the space in the room, I’d recommend staying in either bottom corner for the first part of this battle. Vitreous will send out it’s smaller kin to attack you first. To defeat them, all you have to do is attack them with your sword (the Whirling Blade Technique would be recommended). Occasionally Vitreous will shoot out lightning, but as long as you remain in the corner, this shouldn’t effect you. After a few more attacks, Vitreous will attack you himself. There’s no different strategy used here. Simply slash away at him with your Whirling Blade Technique and victory will be yours.

Trinexx

A Hydra of sorts. This three headed dragon may not multiply heads once one has be cut off, but who’s to say it needs it? Fire & Ice; polar opposites, and without that geode head in the middle this monster might have killed itself early on in life. Ruler of it’s domain, Trinexx lies deep within the belly of Turtle Rock awaiting for it’s next meal. When opposing the dragon, you must treat each head separately. The Red Head will spurt out a trail of flames. The Grey Head will extend it’s neck, trying to tackle you. The Blue Head will spit out a wave of ice that freeze a section of the floor. Dodge all three attacks. To defeat Trinexx, it’s best to focusing one head at a time. For the Red Head, shoot it with a blast of your Ice Rod then swipe it three times with your sword. For the Blue Head, shoot it with your Fire Rod then swipe it with your sword three times. Once those two heads have been done away with the shell will explode, and reveal the Grey Head in it’s snake form. While it’s slithering around the room, attack the glowing mid-section of it’s body with your sword multiple times until he has been vanquished.

Agahnim

The first time you faced against him, he was at a disadvantage, but since he’s back in the Dark World, he’s gotten stronger. He may be impressed you go this far, but he won’t make the same mistake twice. With a few magic words, two clones appear to assist him. It’s easy to figure out which one is the real one of the three: the two fakes are faded. Although the clones’ bodies aren’t real, they’re attacks are just as deadly as the original. Once you’ve identified the real Agahnim, focus your attention on him, and send any blue orb his way. It’s the same strategy as before. Deflect the blue orbs with your sword while avoiding the other attacks. Six direct hits will finally defeat Agahnim.

Ganon

The antagonist of the story. He’s the one that started off this whole mess, and is determined to finish off the thorn that has been in his side from the very beginning. Ganon is the last boss of the game, so expect a long and difficult battle. At first he’ll teleport across the room while throwing his trident. Dodge his attacks and meet him by slashing away with your Golden Sword. After a few hits, he’ll use a new technique: slamming into the ground. Every time Ganon slams into the ground a spiral of flames surround him and a side of tiles fall from the ground. Keep at it by dodging his trident and flames, and attacking when you have the opportunity. Once all four sides of the room has fallen, Ganon will turn off the lights and becomes invisible. At this moment you must quickly light the torches in the bottom corners of the room while being wary of Ganon’s attacks. If Ganon knocks you over the edge, you’ll have to restart the whole battle all over again. With both torches lit hit Ganon with your Golden Sword to stun him. At this precise moment, shoot a Silver Arrow at him and repeat this process three more times before you can claim the Triforce.
