{mosimage}Some people thought that the Korean Massive Multiplayer Online developer Webzen are developing a Zelda game. Nintendo knows better, and have decided to do something about it.

You can see in the picture below that the similarities are striking, and Nintendo have also taken note of this. Shown on the right is actually an image from the up-coming MMO “Wiki”, which is being developed by Korean developer Webzen.

While Webzen representatives have been cited to say that the similarities are completely coincidental, as players will be allowed to develop their own characters in the game, it seems Nintendo aren’t quite buying that.

An official spokesman of our favourite game developer stated that Nintendo would take “natural steps” to protect its intellectual properties, and that they would “seek appropriate measures at the appropriate time.” According to South Korean Nintendo representative Jeong Hyuk-jin, this will be the first time Nintendo has ever raised concerns over possible trademark and copyright violations with a property in Korea.

It will be interesting to see what the final version of “Wiki” will look like, and we will of course keep you updated here at Zelda Universe.
