Where has the magic gone? It seems the magic meter, along with magic spells, has been long since forgotten on the Zelda series. Ben Spyrou of ZeldaInformer decided to recently touch base on that topic.

What do you think? Why has magic disappeared from Link’s arsenal?

I think magic should come back, cause, you know, its magic, and awesome

    I miss Din's Fire…

I get a feeling they are definitely trying to put as much futuristic into the game as possible. Therefore it must lose that quality. We mustn't forget though, there is still some magic found in all Legend of Zelda games. Phantom Hourglass has it's magical power in the HOURGLASS even though the MAGIC METER is missing. Twilight Princess still has the MAGIC ROD and the TWILIGHT REALM for it's magic. And Spirit Tracks may still have it's magic that we haven't seen yet. Not to mention that all enemies must have a magic spell put on them or fell in a vat of toxic waste, (which I doubt), so that still plays a role in magic. We must have faith in our Zelda creators, they will never let us down.

I thought maybe magic wasn't in TP because they couldn't fit anymore stuff in it, 'cause it was meant to be just a gamecube game.. or something. I think they'll bring it back eventually, after all, it was in Wind Waker.

I won't miss it. Wind Waker was the first time it ever became useful for me. It's always felt out of place and odd. (Then again, I've "only" also played Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. I'm fixing that actively. :)

  6. Tritone Says:

It was originally going to have a magic meter, as seen in Beta pictures, though it was taken out for some reason. Like you said, it's probably because they can only put so much stuff in one game…

  7. ChainofTermina Says:

actually, they seem to only be giving magic to the sidekicks. Midna had that fused Shadow hair thing, Zelda had some light arrows in TP, and PH had that fairy. what was her name, Ceila. they seem to be keep doing that, since Zelda will be a ghost, and that girl from Zelda wii, who ever she is, woll definately have magic. I mean, just look at her! how could she not be magic.

  8. LuX Says:

I think Magic should become less and less active as the time plays on (advancing technology) but Link should have it bring back the Magic bar i say!
Because lets face it he's always the Epic one our Link, hes the hero after all if there we're a dozen like him it would be boring and his magic help to create that individulaity that hero, who can preform amzing actions ahhhh but i am just a fan hoping that Nintendo bring it back. I mean come on the bomb arrow was cool, but we all wanted to shoot some fire and ice ;)
