MotionPlus has already been confirmed for Zelda Wii, but Aonuma recently hinted that how you kill off enemies could end up solving puzzles. What this means we can only guess. You might be able to kill enemies a certain way in order for them to drop items, or maybe you have to strike push enemies backwards into pits by hitting them in the right direction.
Aonuma also said that he’s pushing hard to get a demo ready for E3 and eventually release the game by 2010. Apparently he did that with Spirit Tracks which he had previously wanted to be released by Spring 2010. Some fans will be worried that this will result in Zelda Wii being less polished than it would’ve been due to the rushed release, but if Spirit Tracks is any indication, it will be just fine.

Aww… I don't feel any need to have a Motion Plus whatsoever (except using it for this game if it's required). Dang.
February 3rd, 2010 at 8:19 pm
I hope there's wii motion plus involved, but please Nintendo. Make it one pack. So that you can buy the game + wiimotionplus. (not to notice that it should've been there from the start…)
February 3rd, 2010 at 8:34 pm
1. Just cause not everyone has one doesn't mean no one does. They already come with Wii Sports Resort and I got a second one separate so I could play it with people.
2. As the people who made MotionPlus stated, the technology was too expensive at the time of the Wii's launch. They waited to save you money.
February 3rd, 2010 at 8:35 pm
Without MotionPlus, non-shooter games become waggle-fests. If you honestly think a Wii game doesn't need it, you obviously haven't used it yet.
February 3rd, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Sounds like the enemies' weaknesses reflects the puzzle solution. I sure don't want that, unless it means the enemies will be a puzzle by themselves too.
February 3rd, 2010 at 9:30 pm
I played Wii sports resort once over Christmas, and I gotta tell ya, I don't remember there being much difference from the normal Wiimote. are we sure Link's arm is gonna do the EXACT same thing as ours? thats the message I'm getting from all this motion plus hype, bt Wii sports resort didn't seem that drastically different. or maybe thats just because I haven't played Wii in a while.
this E3 is gonna be AWESOME!!
February 3rd, 2010 at 10:06 pm
I am sure the game will have good polish and won't have that rushed feeling, this is a top tier Nintendo game we're talking about. The game has been in development since 2007 at the least.
February 3rd, 2010 at 10:53 pm
It won't be rushed either way. Development has been going for 5 years now.
February 3rd, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Hope it's not a puzzle game with a character (Link) like spirit tracks.
IMO.
February 3rd, 2010 at 11:28 pm
Nice!!! This is such a classic game, I've played it in my childhood days and love to see it still around and being developed on.
February 4th, 2010 at 2:32 am
I don't think the motion plus puzzles will be the complicated puzzles. With all due respect to Metroid Prime 3, apart from aiming by pointing, the motion controls were purely a gimmick.
February 4th, 2010 at 2:47 am
That's a bad example as MP3 didn't have MotionPlus.
February 4th, 2010 at 3:00 am
What is the E3
February 4th, 2010 at 3:15 am
Yet again Nintendo has ruined a good franchise. Thanks wii, you suck.
Nintendo needs to stop making systems, and release on different systems. Zelda on PS3 would be 10x better than what we're getting now. LET'S ALL WAGGLE OUR WII MOTES!
February 4th, 2010 at 3:29 am
Why don't you just shut-up and play a game with good motion controls (preferably one made exclusively for MotionPlus) before you keep making stupid accusations.
Also, better graphics=/=better system. Nobody said the PS2 sucked because it had worse graphics than both the Xbox and GameCube.
February 4th, 2010 at 3:56 am
It's not necessarily about the graphics in this case… but it's more about Nintendo's marketing strategy. Their goal is to bring in more casual people to buy their products, and have word of mouth and other such advertisements get the word out on their gimmicky console. The Wii may be the better selling console of the 3, but due to Nintendo's marketing scheme, it's the "least played" and "least appreciated". Nintendo has over saturated the market by allowing 3rd party companies to create crap shovelware for their console.
If they were as strict now as they were back in the N64/Gamecube days, we wouldn't be seeing so much crap shovelware.
Anywho, I'm looking forward to the new Zelda, and I'm definitely intrigued into seeing how they'll implement the Wii Motion Plus. I haven't bought Wii Sports Resort, but I wouldn't mind paying for the accessory itself separately… and all the better if they package it with the game!
February 4th, 2010 at 7:53 am
I just pray Nintendo release the Wii Remote 2.0 with MotionPlus built in for the launch of Zelda Wii.
It'll make perfect sense! Nyko have already done it.
February 4th, 2010 at 5:20 pm
I'd like the option to use a freaking game cube controller! I wanna use that c stick thing to move the camera around. I don't think you could move the camera as much with the wii remote.
February 4th, 2010 at 8:16 pm
I think they ment they don't have a wiimotion plus unit, not that they don't want it to be included in games.
February 4th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
compare red steel 1 and WSR sword fighting, major difference
February 4th, 2010 at 8:25 pm
neither sony nor m$ restrict crapware, its just cheaper on the wii, if xbox licences were cheaper i am sure crapware would just move over to that
February 4th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
yeah, we already have two motionpluses, and we don't use either of them yet.
February 5th, 2010 at 12:33 am
"Nobody said the PS2 sucked because it had worse graphics than both the Xbox and GameCube. "
- ToTG
1) PS2 had better graphics than GC, GC was the worst of them all by a huge amount.
2) You need to understand a good game from a bad one. I don't want to play big mama's cooking house or wii bowling or wii skiing or wii camping or wii jerking off with nintendo because they come off with a bunch of nostalgia because it is childish, and it ZERO fun. Looking at my TV and waggling my arms around isn't fun. Wii is made for fat kidz who can't go outside for whatever reason.
3) As Goldenike says, it isn't about graphics.Today ALttP graphics would considered lower end, but the fact it even without nostaligia, it is the greatest game ever. But I don't want another childish Zelda game like Wind Waker or Twilight, I want a real complex good story good combat hard puzzle video game. Not gay like AoL where you can fall down a pit in a pitch black cave and it's luck to make it out without having to restart, but a good game. But with these motion control jerking off with nostalgia shit easy puzzles, the game will suck shigaru miyamotos small little… worm (kids come to this site)
5) I get it, your a loyal Nintendo supporter, so I have my opinion, you have yours. I'm just saying leave the typical kiddy Zelda's for the DS, but at least try and give me a new hard zelda. I dont mind motion controls, Nintendo screwed it up, and now the Wii simply should not exist. I'm saying Zelda needs to mature and be more like a game like Darksiders.
February 5th, 2010 at 12:37 am
1. No, it had better specs
2. You need to understand that Wii=/=crappy game. Play some good Wii games.
3. TWW and TP were easy, but not childish
4. Cartoon graphics=/= kiddy
You sound like a Sony/Microsoft 'NEEDS BLOOD AND GORE OR IT SUX LOL" fanboy.
February 5th, 2010 at 4:33 am
No, if I wanted that then ALttP would not be my favorite. And if the GC had better specs than PS2 than the Wii has most certainly gone down from its previous generation. I have played every critically acclaimed Wii game and let me tell you they were all mostly bad. Cartoon graphics also mean that the game is targeted towards kids, meaning that the rest of the game is going to have a childish factor going along with it, it's simply how the marketing works. It depends on the cartoony-ness of course. Family Guy cartoony-ness can be towards adults but when you have cel-shaded graphics and a 10 year old kid no less running aorund you have a kiddy game. Zelda's have never been known for their stories they're known for gameplay and that formulas running out so we need a new formula. The wii remote has already bombed so don't go with that again. Go with maybe more spells, and remove the whole eye thing, it's too easy. Let's bring in a more complicated, deep and adult story and bring in new gameplay elements and at least let me use my classic controller.
February 5th, 2010 at 4:54 am
Yes because if something could be used to it's full potential before it obviously sucks and…you know what, I'll just let you soak in your pool of ignorance.
February 5th, 2010 at 9:36 pm
Wiimote has no full potential, they need either a new product or to drop the idea. They came out with motion plus which STILL isn't satisfactory. And if that's Nintendo's strategy to make us buy something else then they're jewing kids out of their money. I have a complete open mind, judged all the systems. I'll bet you haven't even looked at a PS3 or XB. And so you have the pool of ignorance, un able to fathom anything beating Nintendo. But, it did. The Wii is on top because your grandma is currently Wii Bowling, and you have little girls cooking, and moms working out.
February 5th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
"Wiimote has no full potential, they need either a new product or to drop the idea."
Thank you for proving my point
Also, implying that only old people enjoy Sports (Resort) = FAIL
February 6th, 2010 at 12:09 am
Never said only old people ya lil freak. I'm saying they created a bad product so a NEW WII MOTE ALL TOGETHER WOULD BE BETTER.
And you have yet to to un-prove my point Nintendo fan boy.
February 6th, 2010 at 12:17 am
Lol I'm a Nintendo fan boy just because I have the brains to realize the crappy games were due to lazy 3rd party developers and not the hardware?
Talk to me when you get out of training pants M$/Sony fan boy.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:27 pm
The difference of the motionplus and the standard wii remote s that the m+ takes to 3D. alle the wiimote could was to point and to sence if it was moving at speed, which could be fooled by waggling. with the motionplus, it was able to sense the angle of the wii remote, making it more realistic. I will take resorts swordplay here as an example. t had a weakness, and t was that one couldn't shift the position of a sword while maintaning the same angle. So the swords postion came out of control. But I think they could fix that in zwii, and then it would just be adjustments to make links arm do what ours do. If not, I won't buy the game, unless the rest is exceptionally well-made.
February 6th, 2010 at 6:50 pm
Did you just call microsoft and sony lazy. I can't even continue this anymore. Play New Super Mario Bros Wii followed by Super Mario Bros 1 and tell me who the hell here is lazy. THEY'RE THE EXACT SAME GAME, in fact the wii one is worse because i can't get a proper grip on the oh, yet again, wiimote.
And I'm not a sony microsoft fan boy, I'm everything, then I state the facts on my own experience. Learn to do it, something there you need help with.
February 6th, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Learn what 3rd party means before looking like an idiot.
Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are 1st party companies.
This helps my argument that you don't know what you're talking about even more. If you don't know what 3rd party means, of coarse you don't know jack shit about the Wii's capabilities.
Also, the fact that you continue to think I am blindly following Nintendo instead of realizing the full potential of the Wii makes me want to slap you.
February 6th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
Wii has reached what it can, and I know what 1st and 3rd party on. Get the fuck out of your ego and have a normal conversation. Give me all your "BEST GAMES ON WII" and i'll tell you if i've played them, with my review.
February 9th, 2010 at 2:18 am
i really hope this game is well polished… it shows that ST was rushed: after defeating a certain dungeon, if you were to go back to talk to the lokomo of the respective realm, he would just tell you to go to the temple… even though u already beat it!!!
February 9th, 2010 at 2:51 am
That's not so much them rushing as it is them being lazy to add more dialogue.
I'd comment on how I don't see why they would have rushed, but then I remembered it was almost a 2010 title till someone pushed them to release it for the holidays.
