Gee, it sure is boring around here!
Everyone loves a good laugh, right? A few days ago the team of GoNintendo and Shamoozal released Read Only Memory: Vol 1, an animated short film made to (lovingly) parody some beloved Nintendo franchises. The video showcases some high quality animation, especially for Youtube. Filled with some pretty quirky humor, there are four short scenes:
- Turnips in Love
- Pizza Links
- The Return of Captain N
- Simon’s Supper
One of the best parts of the video is the transitions from section to section – the artist put some very creative thinking into practice moving from scene to scene. For example, moving from a scene about affectionate turnips to a scene about four versions of The Legend of Zelda‘s Link eating pizza. Also, I don’t want to give too much away, but for all you dreamers out there who have always wanted to see Link kissing somebody, this video is definitely for you.
Without further ado, I present to you, Read Only Memory: Volume 1.
Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...

Funny video, but it had a lot of old school humor. I really need to play some of these classic games.

Oh yeah, and Toon Link sounded really stupid. I didn't even get the joke with him. Was it exaggerations with his arms (and sorta face?)
That wasn't the funniest thing I've ever seen, but it was alright. Besides I've never played Punch Out or whatever the last one was. I think it was Castlevania, but I'm probably wrong, so please correct me.

Okay, we've deduced that you don't hate everything Zelda, only a few things. But your obviously sore at this site about something. Those reasons are your own. I simply want to inform you that about nine hundred people–human beings–could be at the other side of the screen, reading all of this. They feel the same way you might about being called "retarded." So be sure to consider this.
And yes, TP is one of the few I've been truly happy with. Majora's Mask is another.

That doesn't mean I can turn on a new leaf. I'm actually gonna try to play other Zelda games besides Twilight Princess. It's just kinda fun to be a troll because you get to see how other people really care about certain things, and it's a little funny, except for the people being trolled on.

No, no I'm sorry, I've stayed out if this out of effort not to feed you TROLL, but no more. it's time to intervene. I have to say this. I do NOT trust you after all the stuff you've said. you've made it pretty blatantly obvious that you find it very amusing to see us "nerds" throw hissy fits to defend our interests from your slander. and this "turn over a new leaf" could be just a ruse and another attempt to stab us in the back and laugh. If you want to be "forgiven" your gonna have to go quite a while without insulting anything on this site.
if you REALLY want to put all this behind you, then change your name, give nice, positive comments, and don't even refer to your trolling days. that is, if your really being serious, which I'm still not fully trusting you to be.

I'm happy to see videos still being made about our beloved games without going perverted or out of line. This video made me laugh,and the Pizza Links were definitely my favorite part. The Turnips in Love were adorable as well. Good job to the people behind this, it was a really cute video!
And I feel sorry for Twilight Princess Link…. Next time I play TP, that's all I'll be able to think about. TP is like my favourite game, so I'm glad that they added humor in with it without ruining the essence.^^

Not remotely funny on any level. Unless the "absurdity" of game characters showing up in games other than their original is enough to make you laugh…

damn, that was some good animation. I actually liked the Simon Belmont one the best, that was pretty funny. Oatmeal Cookie Chunk is my favorite Ben and Jerry's flavor.
