This year’s E3 in June will be a blockbuster for Nintendo as they plan to show off the final design for the upcoming Wii U and hopefully all the other details regarding its launch. People have been questioning about its upcoming launch as to whether it will have some great titles to purchase from day one in which the 3DS failed. Well rest assured you can stop your worrying as Nintendo have just confirmed a new Super Mario title for the Wii U will make its debut at E3 in June.
Hit the jump for some more details!
Here is the statement given by a Nintendo spokesperson about the recent interview Miyamoto gave regarding Super Mario Wii U.
“In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year’s E3 Expo. This is based on the Mario experience that was demonstrated at last year’s E3 Expo. We’ll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date.”
This confirms that the new Mario title will be like New Super Mario Bros Mii shown off at last year’s E3 meaning it will probably be a 2D platformer.
Are you excited to learn of this Super Mario potential launch title for the Wii U? Are you happy about it being based on the New Super Mario Bros Mii demo from last year? Do you think this will be the best E3 yet? Let us know by writing in your thoughts!

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
E3 is going to be even better with this news!
I thought this site only brought Zelda related news? I know you might not have the news, but don't spam. I don't know for sure if it has to be Zelda news though.
nintendo news as welll
Yeah, it's not all Zelda news. We report on Mario news especially as well, but Nintendo in general.
We always post about general Nintendo news and any breaking stories about Nintendo's other big franchises.
What the heck?! I said I don't know for sure if it had to be Zelda news so that means that I didn't know. YET a lot of people don't read it all or focus much so they thumb me down as if I was a troll. Its just odd they don't focus enough to that comment.
I want the Wii U now!!!!!
E3 is a terrible place due to a lot of earthquakes in Los Angeles.
A "lot"? As a native Californian, I can say that quakes that kill even one person only happen once every several years, and quakes that cause any damage worse than cracked drywall are maybe once a year at best. One quickly learns that any quake that doesn't knock things off of shelves is something to be quickly forgotten as it is simply a natural meteorological phenomenon like thunder. It's only the once-a-generation quakes that kill hundreds of people or more that people out here fear–I'd be more afraid to live in tornado country!
New Super Mario Bros. MII??? Oh great, more generic characters. Does Nintendo really think people will rather see the ugly ass Miis in a game rather than their characters? Why not include Wario or Waluigi or Peac or Daisy instead of those horrid stick figures?
The tile image is was a prototype game used to demo at E3 2011, and is not necessarily relevant to the new announcement.
YES!!!! THANK YOU NINTENDO!!!! I really need to pool together 300 bucks.
