COO of JAKKS Pacific Jack McGrath stated the following regarding his new partnership with Nintendo:
“Nintendo is a classic brand rich in content that appeals to today’s kids, parents and collectors alike and we are excited to partner together to bring their video game heritage to life in the toy aisle. We are looking forward to expanding our top-tier roster of properties through this comprehensive licensing deal, which covers a wide array of category rights for almost all Nintendo properties, and for nearly all worldwide territories.”
Vice president of licensing for Nintendo of America Steve Singer commented:
“We are eager to offer, a robust and comprehensive line up of products to satisfy our fan base and generations of Nintendo enthusiasts. This partnership with JAKKS Pacific affords us tremendous opportunity to grow the presence of our iconic brands at retail.”
Sounds exciting! Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a while before we see what’s in store. Costumes will arrive in time for Halloween this October, while the toys won’t be ready until Spring 2014.
Looking on their website, JAKKS currently covers toy ranges from some big brands, including Disney, Marvel, and The Dark Knight Rises. With a track record like that, it seems as though Zelda toy and costume ranges could be in good hands.

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
I look forwards to seeing little kids run around as Link and Princess Zelda this year for Halloween. Wonder what other costumes will be available?
Collectable Zelda action figures, heck yes. It's about time they done some merchandising like this.
Wow, I'm honestly surprized they took this long, Jakks has made some very accurate and enjoyable pokemon figgurines over the years so I trust them completely, I'm just surprised it took them this long to lisense nintendo's other stuff.
Edit: I gotta say, their website is apalingly incomplete and underwealming and not a single Pokemon in sight, which I find unbelieveably odd considering its their most marketable brand.
Potato
Seriously? Heck yeah, finally some Zelda merchandise instead of just seeing Mario all the time at the store. I love Zelda! <3

Omg!!! My little girl has wanted to be Link for Halloween for years! I hope they make adult sizes too, we'll make a family affair of it. We have some Pokemon figures from this company, they are good quality, well painted toys. I'll be buying two sets of any Zelda figures they release, one for myself and one for the kids!
I hope they release a twilight princess- based link figure, with lots of detail and articulation. Please?????
About time! They make terrific figurines. I have a Spike Spiegel I'm very in love with that was made by Jakks I think. Can only wait to see the love they give to Zelda. Majora's Mask please!!!
