Google has started running Walmart ads for the Wii U, pricing it at $350 USD.

Generally, this isn’t something people should take seriously.  I mean, Walmart, Best Buy, and other stores were all wrong about Skyward Sword’s release date, so why believe Walmart’s Wii U price this early?

It’s just that Walmart predicted the original Wii’s price at $250 USD, so who knows, maybe they’re right about this one.

What do you think? Do you think Walmart’s correct? Would you buy a Nintendo console for $350? Tell us in the comments!

WHY WOULD I EVER BUY THAT? If it did cost that much, Nintendo would not have learned anything from the 3DS.

      I agree

What do you mean? Is $350 too expensive? I thought that was pretty cheap, considering the PS3 was something like $700 at launch, and the Xbox 360 was $460. The Wii U has a lot of complicated and expensive shit in it, plus it finally has HD graphics, maybe not as impressive as other consoles but they're still good, $350 seems fair to me.

If I misunderstood you though feel free to punch me in the face.

It's supposedly more powerful than the PS3 and XBOX 360, has backward compatibility with the Wii, and you think it costs too much?

    Why not ;-)

I have a personal heater that can get up to 90 degrees, blankets, and a ready attitude to sit in a line for a full day just playing my 3DS. Yes, I am going to get this on launch day, and NOTHING will stop me from doing so.

  7. I shall stop youuuuu~!

  8. Lucius Optimus says:

For all that the Wii U is supposed to have 350$ is a fair price……..

  9. LegendofMerah says:

I'm getting it at launch no matter the cost. And personally, I think it's a fair price anyway. Especially when you compare it to the price of the XBox 360 and PS3 at launch.

Jeez, they dislike my post and like yours, which is pretty much the same. I SEE HOW IT IS, GUYS. But yeah, me too, I just can't wait for it to be out, I want me some HD Nintendo.

      • LegendofMerah says:

I'm sure it's nothing personal, and I agree, HD Nintendo will be awesome. Totally looking forward to some Zelda and Smash Bros. in HD! :D

I think $350 is a good price. I have a minimum wage job ($7.25 per hour) and I was able to afford a PS3 at $300 with my own money.

  11. Craig says:

Hey what about smart phones like the iphone 4s. They are like $650 and up with no contract. Thats a lot of money too.

  12. Sakume says:

It really depends on many factors whether you can afford it or not. Your bills in general (rent, groceries, whether you live on your own or with someone, whether you have a wife/husband who works to help you, what your job pays, how much you save for things like this). So one person saying they can afford it with a minimum wage job doesn't really tell us much. Good on you if you can afford it. I think the price is pretty fair. Being able to move my game to my lap is gonna come in handy when Dad wants to watch sports.

I'm going to get this on day one… even if I have to sell my organs.

  14. badwolf16 says:

good points there guys. I won't be able to afford it, but I really want to see if they use voice/facial recognition. maybe they'll throw in some facetime thing with the camera, like in pokemon black/white 1.

  15. Chris says:

Make it $300 Nintendo, and I'm sold.
