A Nintendo Direct conference has been held for both Japan and Europe over the last couple of hours. There was a bit of information on Kid Icarus: Uprising, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Mario Tennis Open but nothing on the Legend of Zelda. That is… nothing until near the end of the European conference.
Nintendo UK announced that a very special Zelda message will be coming to your Nintendo Letter Box within the next month or so. They said you will receive it via SpotPass so make sure you connect your 3DS to a Wi-Fi location. The message is from Eiji Aonuma himself and his letter was enough to make us jump for joy.
You can check out a screenshot we made of the full image of his message after the jump.

This is really exciting as it seems not one but two Zelda games are coming in the near future!
In past interviews with Aonuma Zelda on the 3DS has come up as a topic, so it’s likely that the next Zelda game we see will be that one. Nobody’s sure how far in development it might be, but sending out this message now leaves us hoping for a reveal soon, perhaps at E3?
What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Surprisingly, the game was well-received among those who did play and review the game. You play as Tingle, a 35-year-old (and single) man lost in the world. Guided by the mysterious figure Uncle Rupee, Tingle fills a mystical spring with money and gain access to the wonderful Rupeeland, a paradise where nobody has to work. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
I think you're also forgetting the Swapnote letter from Reggie yesterday, telling us Americans to go to nintendo dot com slash nintendo_direct at 9AM (EST) today.
I love Aonuma's Mii, it looks just like him! ^.^
Oh mah gawd I'm excited, can't wait~
Guys, read that again. Capital N… New Legend of Zelda? As in New Super Mario Brothers? As in oh my God…
Where in ANY of that does it say "two"?
It says "look forward to new Zelda games".
As if people were expecting them to stop making Zelda games?
Yeah, it looks like the article was edited anyway. I read it as Zelda games in general, not a specific announcement. They already told us about the inevitable WiiU and 3DS Zeldas, so they were definitely expected.
XDXD
UK- "Letter Box"
US- "Swap Note"
I could see it being the 3DS Zelda at this E3.
[...] Looks like I forgot to post about the Zelda News video yesterday. Sorry guys, I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the Japanese, then European, then US version of Nintendo Direct, just in case they announced any awesome Zelda news. And they sort of did. [...]
