It looks like Reggie Fils-Aime is out and about, and he’s talking about what’s going to happen next year at Nintendo. While the future is looking bright for Mario and Metroid fanatics, Zelda’s future on Wii is a little more ambiguous. The humble COO of Nintendo of America stated in a recent interview on GameTrailers TV that Nintendo has not committed to a 2010 release date for Zelda Wii.

Does this mean we’ll be waiting into 2011 to see Zelda Wii released? Only time will tell if Nintendo will have the next Zelda title ready for next year.

A flurry of quotes have been circulated from Miyamoto’s recent roundtable in New York City, where’s he’s discussed everything from Wii Fit to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Miyamoto also managed to find the time to sneak in a passage about upcoming Zelda titles when talking about New Super Mario Bros. Wii’s Super Guide feature (bolding is ours):

Miyamoto feels this is an inspirational tool of sorts for players. “I feel guilty when the Super Guide block appears,” he said. “I feel inspired to finish the level on my own.” New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the first game to include Super Guide, but it’s possible that future Wii titles could include it too. Each title will be evaluated individually, but something like this in a new Zelda could “open Pandora’s box,” he said, because it’s hard to decide how much of a puzzle solution should be revealed.

It seems with Spirit Tracks so close to being released that sometimes we seem to forget the game is even coming out. Maybe it has to do with the disappointment in getting another handheld installment so soon after the previous while we wait even longer to even get a trailer of Zelda Wii. Maybe we just don’t like Phantom Hourglass, and thus assume we wont like Spirit Tracks. Or, maybe we just don’t play games on the Nintendo DS that much. Whatever the case may be it isn’t about to stop Spirit Tracks from bringing in awards.

Spirit Tracks won the “best of show” for the Nintendo DS at Gamescom 2009, beating out other titles such as Scribblenauts and Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. This is according to our friends over at IGN. Loathe it or hotly anticipate it, it appears that Spirit Tracks is a very solid title soon to be added to the Nintendo DS’s library.

It looks the Nintendo’s Zelda team may have some catching up to do when it comes to visuals. Nintendo Everything is reporting that Monster Hunter 3’s visuals were so impressive that even Nintendo’s Zelda Wii team is feeling the pressure to make the next Zelda look better. This could result in a graphical quality burst for the Wii as more prominent developers add more effort into making their games “beautified,” and it’s very likely that the Zelda Wii team will now commit more time to increasing the graphical quality of the next major game in our favorite franchise.

In an interview with Nintendo Power, Miyamoto talked a bit about the new Wii Zelda, and made the statement “I don’t think it’s going to be that radically different.”

This could be interpreted in many ways. Most likely it’s just a reassurance that we aren’t going to see “Zelda in Space” or “Link fighting in WWII”, or one of the other many wild theories that always appear during the speculation of a new game.

E3 is long over, so it’s time for a new poll – and what better subject is there to ask about than the mysterious new Zelda Wii poster? There are many theories, but unfortunately we cannot fit all of them into our poll, so we will just cover the major ones. Hit the jump for the results of the previous poll.

It looks like Nintendo has given into demand and officially released the poster initially meant only for a “select group” of people. Naturally, the poster has now fallen into ZU hands, and we’re showing it to everyone we can. Hit the jump and have a look into a future far beyond Spirit Tracks.
