Nathan, our good buddy over at arch-rival site ZeldaInformer, has posted a detailed article reiterating everything we’ve learned so far about Nintendo’s upcoming Zelda game for Wii. If you need a good refresher about what’s coming to the Zelda world in the future, check out his article. Think of it like a TV show episode that does nothing but recap the whole season.

A flurry of quotes have been circulated from Miyamoto’s recent roundtable in New York City, where’s he’s discussed everything from Wii Fit to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Miyamoto also managed to find the time to sneak in a passage about upcoming Zelda titles when talking about New Super Mario Bros. Wii’s Super Guide feature (bolding is ours):

Miyamoto feels this is an inspirational tool of sorts for players. “I feel guilty when the Super Guide block appears,” he said. “I feel inspired to finish the level on my own.” New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the first game to include Super Guide, but it’s possible that future Wii titles could include it too. Each title will be evaluated individually, but something like this in a new Zelda could “open Pandora’s box,” he said, because it’s hard to decide how much of a puzzle solution should be revealed.

Please send some more questions so that I can answer them.  It can be anything Zelda or Nintendo, and I will do my best to answer it.

That’s all I have for now.

A darker age for the Wii begins.

A darker age for the Wii begins.

Long after fans began to plea for new Wii colors, the black Wii is finally here… or rather, will be here. The new black Wii will be released in Japan this summer.  At the Wii’s launch Nintendo showed us three other colors (apart from the white and black),  though it is a mystery whether the Wii will ever be graced with the presented red, silver and lime green designs.

Nintendo finished its E3 keynote a little while ago and after being bored half to death by some of the less interesting announcements, Nintendo announced not only Super Mario Galaxy 2 but also a new Metroid game called Metroid: Other M.

This game is not another Metroid Prime game and it’s not being developed by Retro Studios. Instead, this looks like a side scrolling Metroid game much like the original Metroid and the popular Super Metroid.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was also announced, starring not only Mario but finally brings back his dinosaur steed Yoshi. If you haven’t seen the trailers for these games I recommend you look them up on the Internet. You won’t regret it.

Do you like the New Super Mario Bros on Nintendo DS? Chances are you’ll love New Super Mario Brothers Wii that was just announced at Nintendo’s E3 keynote.

You’ll be able to play four players simultaneously and enjoy new suits such as the “Propeller Suit”. This game will release worldwide this holiday season.

80px-e3Tomorrow’s the big day, folks, and we’ll be here to cover it all – Nintendo’s not going to get away with announcing anything huge without Zelda Universe catching it in its giant news net.

That said, we’ll also be liveblogging the entire keynote on top of posting news, just like last year’s E3. Bookmark this post, because this is where you’ll be seeing the liveblog happening – and make sure to check back at this post tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9am PST, 12pm EST to catch the keynote!

UPDATE: The liveblog is go! We’re reporting on Nintendo’s keynote right now, so read on.

UPDATE 2: The press conference is over – Nintendo clearly took the hint from last year’s E3 that this one needed to be awesome, and despite there being no Zelda Wii, this press conference was packed with a million Mario titles, Golden Sun DS, and a new Metroid entitled “Other M.” It certainly didn’t disappoint, so if you missed it read on to see what you missed!

Wii Fit & Mario

The Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun recently reported that by the end of this year a new Wii Fit will be released in Japan. This would confirm the rumors that Nintendo recently patented the name Wii Fit Plus. They informed their readers that the game will measure balance and weight even more accurate and will support online connectivity. But Wii Fit Plus wasn’t the report that sparked the interest of the fans.

Being royalty is great. You’re loved by everyone, you get to hang out with all your idols and best of all: you’ll get gifts sent to you on a regular basis.

The Queen of England just received a Nintendo Wii from THQ. Of course, since it’s for the Queen who just so happens to be one of the most famous people on earth, they actually had it gold-plated.
