ST Euro Boxart

Looks like the European flavor of box art for Spirit Tracks has surfaced on the internet. And I’ll be the first one brave enough to say it: This box art is much nicer than the US version. By a longshot.

Shigeru Miyamoto makes yet another mysterious statement in an interview about Zelda. Talking mostly about New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Spirit Tracks, the famous game designer said he couldn’t talk about Zelda Wii. Then he said “It’s fun to move your body around”.

According to Amazon.co.uk, Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks is set for European release on December 4, 2009. Amazon is known to have a pretty good track record when it comes to correct dates so it is safe to assume this is the correct time frame. It seems with Spirit Tracks so close to being released that sometimes we seem to forget the game is even coming out. Maybe it has to do with the disappointment in getting another handheld installment so soon after the previous while we wait even longer to even get a trailer of Zelda Wii. Maybe we just don’t like Phantom Hourglass, and thus assume we wont like Spirit Tracks. Or, maybe we just don’t play games on the Nintendo DS that much. Whatever the case may be it isn’t about to stop Spirit Tracks from bringing in awards.

Spirit Tracks won the “best of show” for the Nintendo DS at Gamescom 2009, beating out other titles such as Scribblenauts and Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. This is according to our friends over at IGN. Loathe it or hotly anticipate it, it appears that Spirit Tracks is a very solid title soon to be added to the Nintendo DS’s library.

2ziphf5You probably recall the page we mentioned a week ago which showcased more than 30 styles of Zelda artwork – well, we’ve found another set, but this time it is all to the theme of Spirit Tracks. You can check it out here.

Personally, I liked the “Steamboat Willie” rendition of Link the best, though they are all well-drawn pieces of art.

Spirit Tracks was available again in demo form at the German gaming conference “GamesCom”, but unfortunately it was the same old demo as the one that was available back in June at E3.

IGN reviewed it again anyway, stating that it was “as engaging and satisfying as ever”. If nothing else, this review is at least a small reassurance to those who worried that the game would be gimmicky and have little replay value.

Nintendo supplied us with a set of ten ultra-high quality screenshots from their latest E3 Spirit Tracks trailer, and all of them have been uploaded to the gallery. They offer a clearer view of weapons like the Whirlwind and bosses like the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle. Go check them out at the Spirit Tracks Screenshot Gallery.

In addition, we’ve uploaded three just-released pieces of official artwork in all their super-hi-resolution glory. Each of these three pieces depicts Link with the Phantom, and two of them also have Link’s train. A new section of the Spirit Tracks Gallery has been created – go check out the Official Artwork section!

Did you come here expecting some news? Well, to be honest there’s not a whole lot going on. Sure, there are about a million rumors about E3, and a few announced games that will be shown at E3, but it’s pretty much all about E3.

If you don’t know what E3 is, you’re gonna be very happy you read this. See, E3 is the Electronic Entertainment Expo where most major game announcements are made.

E3 spans over three days from June 2nd to June 4th. Nintendo, as well as rivals Microsoft and Sony will all have their keynotes early on.

Play-Asia.com - Buy Video Games for Consoles and PC - From Japan, Korea and other Regions

Hello, everyone – Crab Helmet here, to introduce something big coming to ZU very soon. I speak of The Missing Link, a brand new article series from Zelda Universe. The Missing Link is, in essence, a revival of the old Behind the Rupees series. Many of you might remember a select few top writers from around ZU gathering together to write insightful articles about every aspect of the Zelda series. After an incredibly long wait, we’re ready to do it again – and better than ever before.

To get everyone acquainted with the new writers in The Missing Link, we’ve prepared a roundtable article, in which certain site staff bounce opinions of each other in a general debate and discussion about a subject. This is more of a teaser than anything else, as I want to show you how these things work. Plus, I’m itching to get an article on Spirit Tracks out.

Today The Missing Link team will be discussing their first thoughts on the Spirit Tracks trailer. As you probably know, a new Zelda for DS has been announced, and while we know little about it, we are more than ready to discuss it. Here we go!
