According to Amazon.co.uk, Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks is set for European release on December 4, 2009. Amazon is known to have a pretty good track record when it comes to correct dates so it is safe to assume this is the correct time frame. Do you remember when you first heard of the Revolution (the code name name for Wii) way back when, and how it would use motion controls? And do you remember thinking that this would be the most awesome thing in the history of the world, and how awesome games like Red Steel and Zelda would be, with perfect swordplay controls?

Well that didn’t really happen, since the Wii Remote wasn’t as good as we originally thought it was. But with Wii MotionPlus, those dreams might come true as this little device effectively “fixes” the Wii Remote.

As we all know (or at least us Pokemon nerds), today was the release date of Pokemon Platinum, the newest game in the series, which sold over one million copies in its first two days in Japan.

Platinum is the sequel to the recent Diamond and Pearl games. (Which are, of course, slightly different versions of each other). Platinum has two new aspects which may be of interest. One: A new area called Distortion World. And two: (Possibly just rumor) 61 new little beasties added to the Pokedex. (Available to catch).

If you didn’t read the headline, you’ll be surprised to know that the latest iteration of the infamous GTA series will be released today for the Nintendo DS.

As is obvious – this game takes place in Chinatown where you make use of the touch screen to navigate through street races, evading the police and all that usual GTA stuff we all know and love. Apparently the game is good. Real good. IGN gave it a 9.5 and 1UP gave it an A-.

Now, we all know that GTA is a controversial series. Some people claim it makes children violent killers. Two other controversial games were also released recently, including the ridiculously violent MadWorld for Wii and the allegedly racist Resident Evil 5 for 360/PS3. Maybe GTA Chinatown wars will be accused of racism as well.

If you have opinions on GTA Chinatown or controversial games, head over to our Forums and speak your mind.

A long time has passed since the DSi was released in Japan (while us mortals are still waiting for it) and so far no big-name downloadable content has been offered. But Famitsu has revealed that Sega will release a Phantasy Star game for the console some time this month.

Well, fellow Zelda fans, I don’t think I need to put much more into this news post. Nintendo has finally announced the exact date for the DSi: April 5th, just a little more than a month away! The DSi will retail for 169.99 (just another way of saying 170) US dollars. This is about 40$ more than the DS Lite.

For those of you still living under a rock, the DSi is Nintendo’s latest iteration of the DS, featuring a camera, a sleeker interface and a download service – among other things. The new DSi will also be available in a new Blue color, as well as the traditional White  and Black.

Gamespot Europe attempted to contact Nintendo Europe about the DSi release for them, but Nintendo Europe declined to comment about it’s release.

(Thanks to Naokohiro and Xeno for the tip)

Some of you may have heard this already but for those who have not: put a big smile on your lips, because the Nintendo DSi will release sometime this spring in the UK, and we can only assume that goes for the US as well since Europe usually get everything after the US. For those of you not familiar with the DSi, it’s the latest iteration of the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo’s UK office has revealed the release dates of two Wii-makes; Gamecube games with Wii-mote compatibility.

Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis will release in the UK February 6 and March 6, respectively. Other than the added Wii-mote functions, the games feature minor upgrades. Pikmin will feature a new and better save system while Mario Power Tennis will have more camera options and a new split-screen mode.

While a lot of people are indeed delighted by this, some say that Nintendo could – and certainly should – have put some more effort into upgrading the games, like adding extra characters, costumes or other bonus material. As always, head over to the forums to make your voice heard.

The purported new Zelda game. Yeah, right!

The purported new Zelda game. Yeah, right!

Does the legal-looking picture to the left look familiar to you? With all the press surrounding this nearly year-old patent, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you in the comments said it was a frame from the next Zelda trailer. But with all the emails both the news staff and I have been getting about this story – and one other, more recent story involving a stopwatch with some Triforce-like symbols on it – I think it’s about at that point where we all took the time to take a deep breath, look at this hype, and come back down to Earth. Rumors are great; since we report news, we generally love to mess with your heads and give you false hope (it’s one of our pastimes, you see), but we can’t bring ourselves to do it with these clearly bogus stories being hyped up by supposedly reputable journalists.

In IGN’s most recent Nintendo Voice Chat Podcast, the podcast talked about a game that found its way around friend codes. It is supposed to be a “Major Online Title” being released some time this year.

According to IGN, it is a game that has already been announced. Joystiq has confirmed that it is not The Conduit. What in the world could it be? EA, in the past, has already released games that do not rely on Nintendo’s special wi-fi connection to play online – but this is looking to be slightly sifferent.

I don’t think it really matters what game it is, what are the chances that Nintendo lets this slide? If they do, I will definitely be excited, because it may mean the end of the codes all together. What game do you think IGN could be talking about?

There is a rumor going around that Nintendo is planning to release the DSi in the month of April of this year.6335853729155051355 The new DSi is estimated to cost around USD 179.99 and apparently will be released in the first half of this year, sometime around April 4 is the rumored date, according to IGN which cities,”multiple sources close to Nintendo”.

First revealed in October of last year, the DSi features a camera and built-in memory. It’s first debut was in Japan late last year, and it revived the sales of Nintendo’s handheld, that had been losing to Sony’s PSP handheld.

So if you’re wanting to get the DSi, it just might be available in April.
