What is it that makes the Zelda community special? I’m tempted to say “me” but that would only be part of the answer.

It has a lot to do with the Zelda games, of course. Without them, we wouldn’t be here – but what exactly is it about Zelda that makes people create websites devoted to the series, or gather to discuss theories and the latest in Zelda news?

Nathan of ZeldaInformer takes a deeper look into the question in his article, where he explains why he thinks the Zelda community is better and bigger than – for instance – the Mario community.

Have Zelda games gotten too easy? Not necessarily. Dathen of Zeldainformer claims that Zelda veterans find the new games easy because they already know how all the puzzles work from experience with previous Zelda games, and that the way to make Zelda challenging again is to create new types of puzzles. Combat has been the bread and butter of every Legend of Zelda game since their humble beginnings in 1986. The gameplay of the series has been, and always will be, centered around action-filled encounters between Link and his adversaries. Although Link’s adventures may also include puzzle-solving from time to time, from a gameplay point of view combat always takes a front seat, and has evolved with each new installment to the series. The intention behind this article is to analyze and explore these combat mechanics, and to realize how they have changed over time.
