The Legend of Neil (a web series about a real-life guy who gets pulled into the Legend of Zelda) has just finished Season 2, with a dramatic finale that leaves the future of the series up to debate.
Recently I interviewed Sandeep Parikh, director of The Legend of Neil (and also Zaboo from The Guild), and Tony Janning, who plays Neil, the titular character. For those of you unaware, The Legend of Neil is a web series about a regular guy from the real world who gets sucked into the game of Zelda.
If you are easily offended, the series may not be for you as it does contain a fair amount of vulgar language, but otherwise, you should check it out starting from the first episode here, and then listen to the interview, which both explains the reasons behind the creation of the series and provides hints as to its future.

Nintendo has finally announced the release dates for their European Autumn/Winter Lineup on the official Nintendo of Europe website.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks has been announced for a December 11th European release, just four days after its release in America. The Australian release date has not yet been confirmed.
In 1989, Nintendo published a book based on the original Legend of Zelda game, titled The Legend of Zelda: Molblin’s Magic Spear. Well, a homebrew DS port has been made of it featuring music and narration.
Sounds like a good way to introduce the newer generation to Zelda, especially on long trips. Another version featuring the words instead of narration was also created, which you can view here.
As promised a while ago, we told you guys we had an exclusive deal with First4Figures, the creators of well known statues such as Fierce Deity Link, OOT Link, Sheik and Skull Kid, regarding new info and images from their The Legend of Zelda-series. Today’s the day we can share the world’s first exclusive images and facts of and about Zant!
According to Amazon.co.uk, Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks is set for European release on December 4, 2009. The Legend of Neil, a live-action parody of the Zelda series about a man named Neil literally sucked into the game of Zelda, has today launched a new episode, the third episode of season two.
In this very special episode, Neil must defeat the boss of Level 2 while Ganon, with the help of his advisor Wizrobe, schemes to stop him. Meanwhile, Fairy deals with her entrapment in a bottle, and Zelda awaits her rescue.
This may sound like just your average Legend of Neil episode, but the difference is this – it is all in the form of song.
Remember that newspost we had not too long ago about the new The Legend of Zelda statue First4Figures was going to make? Well, we got the exclusive confirmation of who it is AND we’ve got an exclusive deal concerning the first images of the statue!
The Legend of Neil is a web series about a man named Neil sucked into the game of Zelda and placed in the role of Link. After a very positive reception to the series, Comedy Central contacted them and commissioned a second season, which is currently underway.
Recently, the second episode of this new season was released, in which Neil visits a store. Hoping to upgrade his shield and get some important items, he enters, but soon discovers that he doesn’t have the required rupees, so the shopkeeper invites him to play the mysterious “Money Making Game”.
We all, or may not, know the The Legend of Zelda statues from First 4 Figures. The Limited hand-crafted statues are incredibly detailed and well-made. The Fierce Deity Link, Ocarina of Time Link, Skull Kid and Sheik seemed to complete the series (pictures and info can be found in our merch-section to the left), but today F4F announces a new statue coming up and it’s going to be…
I’m sure this story will amuse most of you fellow Zelda Universearians. They say that video games can become addicting, sometimes to a dangerous level at that! Click the jump to find out about a case that can be considered alarming.
I just finished playing one of my favorite Zelda dungeons ever.
So which Zelda was I playing? Ocarina of Time? Link’s Awakening? Wand of Gamelon? No, I just finished playing “The Legend of Princess”, a indie freeware game released by Konjak, a one-man developer whom you may know from other internet game releases (Fun fact: Konjak and Anton, graphic designer of this site, both worked on the Nintendo DS game Contra IV!). The game is just a small Multimedia Fusion project, containing simply one dungeon and nothing else start to finish, but that one dungeon surpasses the many I have played throughout the Zelda series.
Described by Konjak as a “love letter to Zelda”, this game seeks to answer the age-old fan question “What would Zelda be like if A Link to the Past had based itself on Zelda II’s side scrolling mechanic instead of reverting to Zelda I’s isometric view?”. Most fans would conjure a bleak view of Zelda for an answer, but The Legend of Princess presents an exciting alternate view of a 16-bit Zelda as a side-scroller, complete with 16-bit Link’s pink hair. This game isn’t simply an arcade hack-and-slash with Link tacked on, but espouses a great deal of unique Zelda elements in the span of its one dungeon, such as a pushing-block puzzle and boss fights with Dark Link and Phantom Ganon, all rendered in beautiful side-view 2D. Running a Zelda website is difficult – actually, running a fan site in general must be difficult, because writing a review of a game that isn’t [insert franchise here] seems impossible. I feel expected to like Zelda, when in reality I love tons of games, and dislike many Zelda games (game boy Zeldas, you know how I feel!). This is why I’m thrilled that my latest most favorite game bears such a striking similarity to the Zelda series that I could express my love for it in front of all of you ZU readers.
