Reading the Gametrailers analysis of the Spirit Tracks demo is nice, but not as nice as seeing the actual demo with your own eyes (the only thing better would be actually being able to play it, but I’m afraid reproducing Spirit Tracks in Adobe Flash for play on the main site is slightly beyond our capabilities). Thanks to Digital Chumps, we can now watch the entire demo in high definition.

It looks like Nintendo has given into demand and officially released the poster initially meant only for a “select group” of people. Naturally, the poster has now fallen into ZU hands, and we’re showing it to everyone we can. Hit the jump and have a look into a future far beyond Spirit Tracks.

Yep, we’ve gone and done it again – the Spirit Tracks section has been updated with the latest info on the new Zelda title. Here’s a rundown of all the changes we made over yesterday and today.

  • Items Page: Added information on the Whip. Fixed up information about the Whirlwind. New images!
  • Characters Page: Revised information about the Phantom. Used official artwork for images.
  • Enemies Page: Added several new enemies (all with tentative names) and screenshots of each. Revised certain names and descriptions.
  • Bosses Page: No, that tunnel monster is NOT a boss! We did, however, rewrite and revise the strategy guide for the Rhinoceros Beetle, factoring in the blue larvae it drops.
  • Videos Page: Added the new E3 2009 trailer and the gameplay video by IGN.
  • Image Gallery: Ten new screenshots have been added to the gallery, and an official art area has been made to house the newly released artwork.

IGN had the chance to get their hands on Spirit Tracks at Nintendo’s E3 booth, and had the courtesy to record their session with the game. The video covers most all of the basics of moving on the train – you can even read the tutorial text bubbles.

Nintendo supplied us with a set of ten ultra-high quality screenshots from their latest E3 Spirit Tracks trailer, and all of them have been uploaded to the gallery. They offer a clearer view of weapons like the Whirlwind and bosses like the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle. Go check them out at the Spirit Tracks Screenshot Gallery.

In addition, we’ve uploaded three just-released pieces of official artwork in all their super-hi-resolution glory. Each of these three pieces depicts Link with the Phantom, and two of them also have Link’s train. A new section of the Spirit Tracks Gallery has been created – go check out the Official Artwork section!

80px-e3Tomorrow’s the big day, folks, and we’ll be here to cover it all – Nintendo’s not going to get away with announcing anything huge without Zelda Universe catching it in its giant news net.

That said, we’ll also be liveblogging the entire keynote on top of posting news, just like last year’s E3. Bookmark this post, because this is where you’ll be seeing the liveblog happening – and make sure to check back at this post tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9am PST, 12pm EST to catch the keynote!

UPDATE: The liveblog is go! We’re reporting on Nintendo’s keynote right now, so read on.

UPDATE 2: The press conference is over – Nintendo clearly took the hint from last year’s E3 that this one needed to be awesome, and despite there being no Zelda Wii, this press conference was packed with a million Mario titles, Golden Sun DS, and a new Metroid entitled “Other M.” It certainly didn’t disappoint, so if you missed it read on to see what you missed!

Wii Fit & Mario

The Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun recently reported that by the end of this year a new Wii Fit will be released in Japan. This would confirm the rumors that Nintendo recently patented the name Wii Fit Plus. They informed their readers that the game will measure balance and weight even more accurate and will support online connectivity. But Wii Fit Plus wasn’t the report that sparked the interest of the fans.
