Crossbow

This is Link’s primary (well, only) weapon throughout the game. You aim it using the Wii Remote/Zapper and fire with the B button. Hold down the B button to charge up the Crossbow, then release for an exploding Bomb Arrow, which does more damage and hits more targets—but be careful! You don’t want to hit any penalty targets, don’t forget. Also, use the Z button on the Nunchuk to zoom in on faraway targets. In Ranger stages, you can maneuver Link about using the control stick on the Nunchuk. Another thing to remember about the Crossbow is that by shooting enemies that are glowing green, the Crossbow will temporarily be powered up with a rapid-fire ability making for some easy shooting and a good way to rack up more points–but you endanger your combo by doing so.

Yes you heard right, for those lucky enough to have an iPhone, you can download this app, created by Smule, right now. By blowing into the mic of the phone and using the touch screen keys, you too can be playing like a pro. It is very simple, yet very cool application.

Play-Asia.com - Buy Video Games for Consoles and PC - From Japan, Korea and other Regions

Jason was meant to start this up, but he went to sleep and told me to do it. <_<

Alright – this poll, which is to decide the next Webmaster, has two choices.

Firstly, we have Cody, a Super Moderator and Site Staff from Nayru who does much of the behind-the-scenes work on the main site and hosts the soon-to-be released Zelda Podcast.

We also have Power Shot, a Super Moderator from Farore and member of the BA Council who manages the Battle Arena tournaments and loves to create comics in the Sprite Comic board.

There were innumerable others who wished to become candidates, but only these two were approved by Jason as possible choices, so let the voting begin! The voting will be anonymous as to protect the privacy of the voters.

The polls will be open for 48 hours and end at 12:00AM EST on November 6th.

The thread with the poll is here.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple months, you should know about the economic crisis facing the world. Most of this can be attributed to the US and the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Most of you under 18, though, could probably care less. Although, if the economy tanks, how does Nintendo create games? Or what if they create them, but then have to sell them for extremely high prices just to turn a small profit?

What would you do if your family couldn’t afford games anymore? Would you cry? Would you even care?  Of course you would. Why come to a Zelda site and not care about gaming even a little? Well there is a bit of good news. Hit the jump to find out why.

Play-Asia.com - Buy Video Games for Consoles and PC - From Japan, Korea and other Regions

Hold the phones, everybody of ZU! Could this be the moment we’ve been anticipating? Could there possibly be a chance for Nintendo to announce Zelda Wii?

On October 2nd, Nintendo is set to have some sort of Autumn press conference, where “new products” are going to be named.  Does “new” does this mean Zelda? Possibly some Mario? We’ll find out on the 2nd.

Recently it has occurred to me that I haven’t been playing my Nintendo Wii as frequently as my nagging brain keeps telling me to. While there are reasons for this (food, sleep, plotting to overthrow the site) I just cannot bring myself to pick up my controller and beat up computers in Brawl anymore. There’s always a show on to divert me from playing on my white box of wonder. And I think I know why.

It is well-known that Nintendo enjoy making things smaller. When the GBA came out, it was only two years before the SP showed its tinier face to the world, and yet another two before the Micro appeared. Even the DS has had the same trend, with the original being released in 2004 and the Lite in 2006. Now, in 2008, it seems that we might be downsizing yet again to a smaller, more portable system. I guess Nintendo figures that our waistbands are getting tighter, so we can’t jam our bulky portables into our pants like we used to.

The reputable website, Kotaku, has just released information that, according to Hirokazu Hamamura, head of Enterbrain (which, if you don’t know, is the big daddy of Famitsu, one of the best gaming magazines of Japan) we might just be due for another handheld: a DS even “liter” than the current DS Lite. Hamamura stated that Nintendo might be unveiling designs for this alleged new DS at E3, 2008.

Personally, I still have an original DS, and have never really felt the need to downsize, but I guess size does matter to other denizens of Nintendo’s fanboy kingdom. And the rule in the handheld world is the opposite of the automotive industry. Smaller is sometimes better.

Play-Asia.com - Buy Video Games for Consoles and PC - From Japan, Korea and other Regions

Is it true or is it fiction? Recent rumors are surging through the internet about a new Zelda game which will be announced at E3 2008. The presently titled Project Deluge or Valley of the Flood is rumored to be in the works from Nintendo in a recently released interview between Eiji Aonuma and a mysterious individual calling himself “Kyle.” The alleged interview, which originated at IGN’s forums, has not been confirmed to be legitimate but is raising interesting questions about the future of the Zelda series because of the new features in the game.
