This could be yours...
Those of you who are going to get Spirit Tracks on release day (December 7 in the US and December 11th in Europe) have a chance of getting a sexy limited edition, consisting of (other than the game, of course) a tin box and miniatures of Link and the Phantom.
Yessir, after a (very) long day of waiting, the server migration is complete – Zelda Universe and all of the sites on the server (such as Zelda Wiki.org) are back up and running almost fully. On the Wiki we’ve got a few known issues and we’re working to resolve the immediately. On ZU, the forums aren’t totally up yet – you’ll still get a database error – so I’ll update this post and the Facebook / Twitter pages when the forums are up and running again. UPDATE: The forums are now up and running!
As promised a while ago, we told you guys we had an exclusive deal with First4Figures, the creators of well known statues such as Fierce Deity Link, OOT Link, Sheik and Skull Kid, regarding new info and images from their The Legend of Zelda-series. Today’s the day we can share the world’s first exclusive images and facts of and about Zant!
I was talking Zelda with some friends the other day when I came across someone with a curious pet peeve – he felt that Link’s name should not be changed or it would break the flow of the game during dialogue, and that people who changed the names were “casuals”.
Obviously, most people are less extreme and less focused on roleplay, but it’s true that preferences vary wildly between players. What do you think?
Does it feel more natural to you to keep the default name, or substitute in a name of your own? Does it even matter to you, or do you just insert a word that spices up the dialogue and makes you laugh?
I think I can say without bias that the Zelda Universe community stands out as one of the biggest and the most thriving Zelda communities out there. Our forums over the years have been home to many of the most intriguing and groundbreaking pieces of Zelda theorizing and discussion that the internet has to offer, and our member base, though large, has formed strong bonds, some members even deciding to marry each other!
But unfortunately, I also must admit that the main site half of ZU has not quite maintained the high standard that makes our community so famous. This ends now.
Are you surprised? You shouldn’t. Since Wii Sports comes bundled with every console, it’s bound to sell like crazy. The now second best selling game of all time – previous champion – was Super Mario Brothers for the NES.
If there is anyone out there who still doubts that Zelda Universe is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
No, just kidding, this wasn’t democracy at all. Jason decided to make me a webmaster, but wanted to have a parody of the US elections along the way. We started off with just having a choice between me and nobody at all, but this was far too boring, so we asked Power Shot to join in. Mind you, if Power Shot had won, he really would have been webmaster for a while – he wanted to have a little reign of terror to increase the drama even more! :3

Running a Zelda website is difficult – actually, running a fan site in general must be difficult, because writing a review of a game that isn’t [insert franchise here] seems impossible. I feel expected to like Zelda, when in reality I love tons of games, and dislike many Zelda games (game boy Zeldas, you know how I feel!). This is why I’m thrilled that my latest most favorite game bears such a striking similarity to the Zelda series that I could express my love for it in front of all of you ZU readers.
