Good news, everyone! Always wanted to help ZU out in your own, special way, but could never figure out just how to do it? We’re here with the answer. You see, Zelda Universe has been entered in American Express’s Shine A Light contest – a contest that highlights small businesses (like ZU). The prize is a whopping $100,000 in marketing rupees. I mean dollars.
We can all close our eyes and imagine what wonderful things could happen if Zelda Universe had $100,000 to push towards marketing. Women would swoon over us, men would become jealous and enraged, and Nintendo would actually pay attention when we ask for review copies of Phantom Hourglass. The world would become topsy-turvey indeed – so we need everyone who’s anyone in the Zelda Universe community (heck, the Zelda community) to vote for ZU in this contest. ZU needs at least fifty votes to be formally nominated, and one can only assume that the more votes the merrier. With Zelda Universe’s vibrant community, fifty votes should be no problem – so let’s blast by the other entries and bring ZU to the top.
We can do it – with the internet, we cannot fail. By your powers combined, ZU shall have a marketing budget!
(By the way, votes only go up until September 13th, and you must be registered with Shine A Light to vote – don’t worry, it’s free. So please vote by September 13th!)
With both a new Wii and DS Zelda game fast approaching, more and more relevant Zelda news is appearing, and as such we have decided to hold a contest amongst our Facebook fans to expand our page’s fan base (our Facebook page makes our Zelda news updates appear in the friends’ updates list).
Once we reach 3000 fans, a contest will be held on our Facebook page with several as-of-yet undecided Zelda-related prizes.
I said I’d be back Wednesday, and I’m here. The winners have been notified of their winning statuses, but I’m sure everyone who entered would like to know who the lucky two victors of this contest are.
Entries for the Bank of Hyrule contest, after a week of being open, have been closed. Thank you everyone who entered! We’re going to tally up the entries, run the raffle, pick out our favorite photos, and post all of the results on Wednesday. If you think you won, be on the lookout for an email from ZU sometime on Wednesday…
For those of you attending Comicon, the Zelda prizes aren’t over yet. Zelda based mini-series The Legend of Neil has decided to celebrate the beginning of their second season by holding a contest – those who wear a LoN t-shirt and visit their booth will win a prize and are also eligible to win one of the Zelda props from their show, such as a giant dungeon key or a shield.

It’s time! For those who didn’t read the post directly below this one, we’re celebrating the launch of The Bank of Hyrule with – what else – a contest! We’re giving away two prizes: Four volumes of VizKid’s The Legend of Zelda manga, and an X-Rocker II gaming chair (with speakers built-in!).
To enter, all you need to do is the following:
The contest will run from now until 11:59pm this coming Sunday, July 12. Please use this post’s comments for entries only – anything that isn’t an entry will be deleted. Make sure to submit your entry in the comments system before 11:59pm on the 12th if you want a shot at winning anything. The winners will be selected by raffle out of the comments, so everyone has an equal shot at the prizes no matter what your photographic skill is.
For more details on the prizes, some elaboration on the rules, and to enter, read on!

It’s here, everyone – to celebrate the launch of The Bank of Hyrule, and to prove we’re serious about running contests, what better to hold than a kickoff contest? The gracious folks from Mounts and More and Viz Media have offered to sponsor our first contest. It’s open to everyone, everywhere (yes, everywhere), and we’re going to start it after the holiday weekend – this Monday.
So, what kind of Zelda gear could you win? Hit the jump to find out.

I wrote, a few days ago, about Zelda Universe’s new donation system, The Bank of Hyrule. I’m pleased to announce that, after much fussing, The Bank is now live! You can find it on the sidebar under “Site Related.”
For those unaware of just what The Bank of Hyrule is, allow me to explain: The Bank replaces ZU’s traditional donation system with a so-called “deposit box.” Every time a person makes a deposit into the bank, the amount inside, naturally, rises. When we reach a certain amount of money, Zelda Universe will flush out the money in The Bank and use it to hold a contest!
Contests will be easy to enter and fun to participate in. We’re already planning for our first contest – so why not hit the jump to find out what fun we’ve got planned?
Some of the biggest complaints about Twilight Princess have been about the bosses. They’re too easy, they’re too generic, they’re too slow, etc.
Well, if you think you can do better, here’s your chance! Nsider2 is holding a contest on their own site as well as here on Zelda Universe. It’s called Design a Boss and basically asks users to submit original boss concepts for a Zelda Game. Oh, and did I mention that there will be prizes?
I dont think a lot of you are aware, but there is a whole bunch of incredibly talented people (besides me, of course) on ZU. You may also not be aware of the fact that there is a monthly art contest going on in the art & writing forum.
Well, just recently the results of this contest were posted and I want to share some artwork with you. The theme for this month was “heroes”, be it your everyday hero, the famous Superman or Heroes the TV show. I myself took part, but I guess my work was just too good to be anywhere near the top. Actually I think I came last…
Anyway, if you want to see the runner-up and winner of this contest, just keep reading!
