On May 1, the video channel that had been announced earlier will be released in Japan. The channel works like a living room where you can register up to 8 Miis. From here the video service can be accessed. Nothing is known about the shows as of yet, but several functions of the channel have been revealed.

Can’t get enough of Wii Fit? Then you should move to Japan! Nintendo is planning to launch a Body Check Channel that will correlate your data and offer you health tips as well as providing medical researchers with demographic data.

The Japanese company NEC says they will use the channel to get their employees and family fit and healthy.

Nintendo has stated that they have no plans to release this in Europe and they have yet to comment about the US. But seeing as how many people consider obesity a big problem, maybe your employer will force you to play hoola hoop on your coffee breaks in the near future.

Nintendo has confirmed that each Wii Speak and its peripheral will only be able to be used on a single Wii. It will have a one-time activation code, meaning that it will not work in any other Wii, and it will be unable to be sold second-hand. Only those Wiis with Wii Speak are able to access the Wii Speak channel, which will not function without the peripheral.

Wii Speak launches November 16th in North America and December 5th in the UK.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple months, you should know about the economic crisis facing the world. Most of this can be attributed to the US and the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Most of you under 18, though, could probably care less. Although, if the economy tanks, how does Nintendo create games? Or what if they create them, but then have to sell them for extremely high prices just to turn a small profit?
