If you’re currently using Internet Explorer 6, I have some bad news to drop on you. If you’re not using the infamous browser, you can sit back and enjoy the news.
As of yesterday, Zelda Universe has officially dropped all support for IE6. This means that as we add features to the site and forums, as we refine the code to make the site and forums faster, and as we create new pages and guides for new Zelda games (like our Spirit Tracks section), we will not be checking to make sure that they “work” in Internet Explorer 6.
The main reason we drop support is because of the sheer amount of time it takes to make those pages work with IE6. Microsoft’s browser does not run the same way that most browsers today do; it uses far outdated technology and, after sticking around for eight years, it’s finally time to put this browser to rest. If you’re using IE6 – be it at work or at home – we strongly encourage upgrading to Microsoft’s newest version of Internet Explorer, IE8.
If you don’t want to use Internet Explorer anymore – and we can see why – please check out the following alternatives:

Who uses IE anyway, it's known for it's many security bugs and also doesn't always handle CSS correctly. I hate Microsoft, they should leave the software business already, they don't know what they are doing. And this is a multi billion dollar company and not some indie experiment!
Speaking about browser compatibility, I wasn't able to vote for Zelda, BUHUU! Now maybe Zelda won't come to my room

Well, was about time. I'm working in the web development business and the worst job is supporting outdated browsers like IE6 or even 5.5. The problem is, that so many customers demand this and a lot of lazy users still use the IE6. It's absolutely annoying and I support every site, which is drawing a line here and stops worrying about trash technologies. If everyone would do this, then we would finally come to a point, where we don't have to support the laziness of users.

IE6 is a horrendous piece of technology. All new sites that I build have zero tolerance for IE6 visitors. My latest creation even has a brutal IE6-specific message. ^_^

Didn't you post about dropping IE 6 support already? I know on messenger you told me you were dropping it, but I swear I saw a post on ZU already about it.

About fucking time.

There was an announcement that we were planning to drop support a while back, bundled with an announcement about some forum upgrades. However, the official date of "dropped support" was Sept. 1st, and it's always good practice to remind people.

Yeah – some scripts on ZU aren't working properly. We're working on it!

The only reason IE exist is to download FireFox/Opera.

I have no idea what ant of you are talking about. I don't understand computer talk and I doubt I ever will. It's like the same thing when everybody argues about politics. I don't get any of that stuff.
