Wow, it’s not often we get to update this section, but it looks like we have! A fine gentleman pointed out that we never had a Big Poes guide up, so esteemed staffer and ZUBC-er Margar took care of it. The guide is now up and ready for use, so if you feel like replaying Ocarina of Time, the Big Poes are waiting for you.
Of course, the guide is also on our Ocarina of Time main page with the rest of our Ocarina of Time information.

It’s that time of the year. October – when we all decide we’re going to dress up like Link this year but, for some reason, we never seem to find the right materials for the costume. Sure, that fateful day might be a good month away right now, but it’s never too early to get in the spirit. Especially when there’s candy corn involved.
Two new Zelda sites have been added to our affiliates list. The first is The Sacred Realm, which has been exploding with activity lately, and the second is Zelda Chronicles, an old Zelda site which has only recently returned and is now focusing specifically on news.
Yessir, after a (very) long day of waiting, the server migration is complete – Zelda Universe and all of the sites on the server (such as Zelda Wiki.org) are back up and running almost fully. On the Wiki we’ve got a few known issues and we’re working to resolve the immediately. On ZU, the forums aren’t totally up yet – you’ll still get a database error – so I’ll update this post and the Facebook / Twitter pages when the forums are up and running again. UPDATE: The forums are now up and running!
It’s about two years overdue, but ZU finally has its own complete Twilight Princess walkthrough up and running, thanks to one of our newest additions to the Site Staff, Ciroton.
He puts his own unique spin into the guide, and makes it both informative and entertaining, so if you are stuck at a point in the game you should definitely check it out. The walkthrough can be found here.
Is your desktop feeling lonely? Did the last batch of fan wallpapers not satisfy you? Well, Kris Hickey is here to cure your woes. He’s just submitted a beautiful wallpaper set of his own artwork depicting Link running through a dungeon – created entirely in colored pencil. It comes in most every resolution imaginable, so don’t hold back – just get to downloadin’.

If there’s one thing the Zelda series isn’t short of, it’s typography and fonts. With that in mind, we’ve gathered up a bunch of fonts related to Zelda and Nintendo and put them up for download. You’re probably familiar with a good deal of these fonts, but we hope we’ve found one or two that will surprise you.
Each font has a complete description and a waterfall-style preview. If you’re not sure how to install fonts, there are simple instructions on the page. We hope you enjoy the fonts collection and, as always, if you think we’re missing anything just let us know! For future reference, the Typography and Fonts page is on the left sidebar under Media.
If you’re currently using Internet Explorer 6, I have some bad news to drop on you. If you’re not using the infamous browser, you can sit back and enjoy the news.
As of yesterday, Zelda Universe has officially dropped all support for IE6. This means that as we add features to the site and forums, as we refine the code to make the site and forums faster, and as we create new pages and guides for new Zelda games (like our Spirit Tracks section), we will not be checking to make sure that they “work” in Internet Explorer 6.
Every so often, some very generous Zelda fan walks our way. Today, that person is Anna, who a while back donated to us her full-length original soundtrack to Link’s Awakening. Seeing as Zelda Universe’s selection of tracks for Link’s Awakening was, well, let’s say “less than stellar”, you can imagine we were overjoyed to finally revitalize the LA soundtrack page.
Last month, we needed to put up a new poll, so we asked the fans of our Facebook page what the poll should be about, and they responded with the idea, “you should poll them on what the next poll should be about!” We did this, and now a winner has been decided.
The fantastic graphic artist and forum member, super-fergus, has submitted two of his creations to ZU’s extensive Zelda wallpaper gallery. Take just one look at either of these beauties and you’ll want them parading your desktop immediately.

Good news, everyone! Always wanted to help ZU out in your own, special way, but could never figure out just how to do it? We’re here with the answer. You see, Zelda Universe has been entered in American Express’s Shine A Light contest – a contest that highlights small businesses (like ZU). The prize is a whopping $100,000 in marketing rupees. I mean dollars.
We can all close our eyes and imagine what wonderful things could happen if Zelda Universe had $100,000 to push towards marketing. Women would swoon over us, men would become jealous and enraged, and Nintendo would actually pay attention when we ask for review copies of Phantom Hourglass. The world would become topsy-turvey indeed – so we need everyone who’s anyone in the Zelda Universe community (heck, the Zelda community) to vote for ZU in this contest. ZU needs at least fifty votes to be formally nominated, and one can only assume that the more votes the merrier. With Zelda Universe’s vibrant community, fifty votes should be no problem – so let’s blast by the other entries and bring ZU to the top.
We can do it – with the internet, we cannot fail. By your powers combined, ZU shall have a marketing budget!
(By the way, votes only go up until September 13th, and you must be registered with Shine A Light to vote – don’t worry, it’s free. So please vote by September 13th!)
