This FAQ is designed to answer the most common questions about membership on our forums, its features, and its obligations, and is a great way to find out what registering at our site is about. We highly recommended that your read through it before you sign up.
First and foremost, being a member of the Zelda Universe Forums is a privilege, not a right. Should you do anything against the rules, or anything to make our Administrators and Moderators not see you fit for a membership here at Zelda Universe, we have every right to not allow you to have an account here. We cannot stress enough the misconception that everybody has a right to participate in discussion on Zelda Universe. It is a conditional membership – as long as a person follows the rules, he or she has the right to be a member on Zelda Universe.
Zelda Universe is run completely by volunteers, and our aim is to create a friendly community where people can unite, discuss and participate in activities revolving around the Legend of Zelda series. Should we see a person as a hindrance to the community, we will suspend that person from accessing membership features here at Zelda Universe.
Who can register at Zelda Universe?
Anyone! Zelda Universe is open to anyone in any age group from any part of the world.
Do I have to pay to register at Zelda Universe?
Registering at Zelda Universe is completely free, and we will never ask you to pay for any of the services we provide. We are, however, open to donations from those who appreciate our work. If you’re feeling generous, please donate a small sum – it helps our morale and keeps ZU running!
What are the advantages of registering at Zelda Universe?
As a registered member of Zelda Universe, you will get access to all parts of the site that are reserved only for our members. This includes taking part in our Forums, posting comments on our news items, the ability to post your work in our Fan Art and Fan Fiction sections, and access to media-heavy downloads, such as music in MP3 format, soundtracks, and movies.
Are there any terms and conditions I have to agree to before I can register?
Yes. Before you register you must agree to follow our Rules and Conditions for membership, which are displayed when you make your account. You must also agree to follow the forum rules before posting on our forums. Please read over these thoroughly before signing up.
What happens if I fail to follow the rules?
If a member fails to follow the Rules and Conditions for membership here at Zelda Universe, we reserve the right to suspend and ban them from accessing any of the membership privileges at our site. Also, if we see fit, we may also ban this user’s IP address from our site/server completely. However, we rarely see the need to resort to the latter option.
What about my privacy when I register – will you share my account details with anyone else?
No. Your personal details will never be shared with any third party, and the only reason we collect details about you when you register is for statistical purposes. It is very rare for us to actually look into a specific user’s details unless he or she has brought any special attention to him or herself. You can read more about our Privacy Policies in the Legal section of the site.
I registered but I still can’t post in the Forums, why?
When you register, you need to confirm that your e-mail account actually exists before you can post in the Forums. The instant you complete your registration, an e-mail is sent to the address that you registered with. In this e-mail there’s a link you will need to click to confirm and activate your account. Should you for some reason not receive the confirmation e-mail, use the Contact page and send us your username, and we will activate it manually for you.
I am having trouble logging into the site, what can I do?
First and foremost, you need to make sure that you are using the right details (username and password). We have also gotten some reports from users with AOL Browser that they have been experiencing problems with logging in, and that is because AOL uses outdated technology that will not read the site and set cookies correctly. The solution to this is to make sure you are using the latest version of your browser, or to preferably switch to a more reliable browser. We recommend Mozilla Firefox.
Who can I turn to if I have any questions about Zelda Universe?
The best place to get in touch with the staff here at Zelda Universe would be through the Contact page. We do our best to respond to all the questions we get, but due to the sheer number that we receive every day, we will not be able to answer everyone that contacts us. If you want to email us to just say “Hi!”, use the Forums instead. Also, if you have any questions that are answered publicly on the site, you should be able to find your answer. Additionally, our Forums are a great place to communicate with the staff of the site, and on the Forum Leaders page you will find the usernames of the official representatives of Zelda Universe.

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland was released only in Japan and Europe, never making it to the USA due to lackluster sales. Along the way, hire body guards to protect Tingle – but from what? All may not be as it seems in Tingle’s quest for monetary gain, and Rupeeland just might not be so rosy after all...
