Back when Lars, Zelda Universe’s founder, was running the show, we had a spiffy little thing called the Interactive Story. For one reason on another, it disappeared – but somebody remembered what great fun it was and brought it back.
It’s easy to interact with these stories. They like you, and you, hopefully, like them. Thus, all you need is an idea, a computer, and an internet connection. Once you’ve read all the parts to one of the current stories, you can write your own part to continue the story. This continues as person after person submits parts to the story. Eventually, we’ve got a whole big novel-like structure – see how this works?
But wait! you say. How do I submit the next part of the story, which I wrote in my precious spare time? Why, just click the very giant link at the bottom of these instructions.
There are some rules we should mention. If you choose to write a part, and it becomes published on ZU, you cannot write the next part as well. So, if you wrote part 2, you cannot write another part until part 4. Everyone should have a chance to write their own part, so we cant have one person hogging them all, right? In addition, in order to keep the floor open for more writing, please try not to exceed 2000-word parts. At the same time, try to keep them over 800 words. We’ve had success with 600-word parts as well, so there is a bunch of freedom for you to enjoy.
With that said, happy writing! Enjoy the stories.

Conceived by Smeezette, the premise of the story is Link coming back to Hyrule Castle, only to find an impostor has taken his place and fooled everyone into believing he is truly Link.
A Dream of Things to Come is a first-person epic told by the Shiekah Deucalion, an injured bystander of Link’s epic battle with Ganondorf Dragmire, who wants nothing now but for his legacy to be forgotten. In ZU’s deepest interactive story to date, Deucalion’s legacy is permanent, doomed to float through the limitless stretches of forever.
In Focus of Power, the Triforce is acting up and has trapped Link (along with the royal family and the leaders of all the major races of Hyrule) inside Hyrule Castle. But what will become of them?
