Miiverse won’t use Twitter or Facebook

I don't care. I really don't like either of 'em.

Well it makes sense to me.

Nintendo aren't the type to open up their games and consoles to other companies or parties. It's suppose to only connect to either the Wii U or the 3DS and that's it. It wouldn't make sense for them to go onto other social media sites.

This is what comes to mind when I see and hear about Facebook:




I am very happy Nintendo's Miiverse will not be connected to Facebook or Twitter (those two sites got too much attention in this day and age).

Kind of a weird decision, when you consider how hard they're pushing the social capabilities of the Miiverse.

Not a deal maker or breaker either way though, so I don't really care.

To my knowledge the Miiverse connects to:
Wii U
3DS
Smartphone devices (shown in the video, said to not be supported at launch though)
Most Likely PCs and Tablets (If smartphones are supported this wouldn't be a stretch).

It's more or less Nintendo's own social networking. If it went with Facebook or Twitter, it'd be like if the Facebook like button was on Twitter, or if Facebook had a "Tweet this post" button.

But it isn't a surprise at all like you said.

I know from experience that you can link your Facebook account or page with your Twitter account. I made a Facebook page and a Twitter account for my Zelda site and linked them, and whenever a post it made by the Facebook page, it gets tweeted on Twitter.
