Skyward Sword Soundtrack

Two reasons I'm not downloading this: 1) I already have it, and 2) I don't need every minute variation of every single track from every single localization of the game. Yes, I know I can pick and choose, but...that just gets confusing. I'd highly recommend making it less cluttered at least. Maybe list the variations at the end. I mean, seriously. My soundtrack only has 190 tracks (granted, it's still over 6 hours long, but...). I don't need 377.

P.S. It is nice to see the OST on ZU at all, though. Been waiting for that.

Nice! The soundtracks section is probably ZU's best asset so it's great to see it improve even further with the addition of SS's soundtrack.

It would be nice if the ZU people would credit the guy who made this rip...

It would be nice to find a compressed file, or a torrent with all these tracks in it. That is an overwhelming number of tracks.

I'm a music nerd, but I love having ALL the variations...the more Zelda music, the better! ^.^

Same here. I have at one point owned every single zelda sound file in existence. Not all at once, mind you. But at one point, it has happened.

I like having every variation; don't get me wrong. But in separate tracks? Big no-no. It's cluttered and much longer than it needs to be. The best part about ZeldaInformer's TP soundtrack is that it has pretty much every track and variation from the game, but for example, all of the variations of the Hyrule Castle Town theme are crossfaded nicely together in a single track. This is what ZU's SS soundtrack needs. It sounds better, makes the track list look neater, and makes it so you aren't listening to virtually the same song eight times in a row (four tracks, each looped once, as an example).

It would take time, but it would make ZU's SS RST a lot nicer. Heck, I'd be willing to (try to) do it after my finals in a couple weeks!

Don't worry, someone is working on it, and will be adding endings and such.

As long as tracks are combined, too, this is great to hear! Though in the grand scheme of things, I don't mid at all since I already have a different RST. But if variations are put into one track, I may download ZU's instead since the RST I have lacks a lot of the variations and jingles.

I prefer every single it its own track so I don't have to split it up later for use in the podcast or whatever.

I'm not sure why there isn't like three or four 500mb batches of .zip files containing all the songs for easier download. These aren't even on the same server, it's all on Amazon...sooo why does the page say we're concerned with bandwidth?

If you feel competent with that sort of thing, I say go for it and we can offer it up as an alternative for those who want that sort of thing (I know I would).

To be clear, we mean variations, as in, one track has the normal track, and the next has the track with percussion, or a flute overlay, not a whole differnt piece of music, just the same one, but with different instruments.

Actually, all of the webmasters shared some of the effort in getting it hosted. However, right now not all of us have access to upload files to the share. I'm hoping to upload ZIPs whenever I get the requisite information that enables me to do so.

The thing about that TP rip is that it was ripped by a user named Prime Blue, who had a very specific method that he used on that soundtrack (something that I think is exclusive to the GameCube). He's expressed absolutely zero interest in Skyward Sword or anything else Wii-related, hence his skill is not seen in the SS rip. Other devoted fans of the game did the best they could with this rip.

But yeah, if you can manage to make a rip where the variations flow into one another as Prime Blue did with TP, that would be awesome!

I'm just glad to finally get it! I can't wait to get home and download!

There is an alarming amount of tracks, but hey. XD

I'm glad this has been posted up. Even I have the OST but really, some of these tracks here have the alternatives I wanted to have, like Skyview Temple Entrance. Also, I don't think Skipper's retreat song and its variations are even in the OST I got.
