Boston Meetup 2008

This afternoon I got an e-mail from Nintendo saying that they are having a Mario Kart Tour Bus going across the U.S., and when I saw one of the cities was Boston, I just knew I had to have another meet up; but this time, BIGGER! I PMed James and he's agreed to join along (as he did last year). We are wondering who is capable of joining us on either May 14 or May 15th. Now I believe it would be best to agree amoungst ourselves which day for all of us to visit, since two separate meetings may be too much (unless you live very close to the Boston area, like myself...but I'm strapped for cash, so one trip it is).

The times are as follows:
May 14th, 10am-8pm at City Hall Plaza
May 15th, 9am-7pm at Downtown Crossing

Of course this doesn't mean that we'd spend the whole 10 hours in line and playing the game (of course we could, but we have a whole city to play in). There's always the tried and true "Dinner & a Movie" we could do afterwards (I'd personally love to see Iron Man, but nobody said we'd all have to see the exact same movie, it would just make things easier if we did).

So, again, who's interested in joining James and I on the Mario Kart tour date?

*note* As the title says, we're only focusing on the Boston trip. We're not organizing other city trips. If you want to make another ZU meet up, please make your own thread.
*note #2* BYOM: Bring your own money. Remember you have to pay for your own transportation, food, expences, etc.. (I'd like to bring people to Harvard where there's a store called Tokyo Pop. They have a lot of imported Anime and some Video Game related memorbelia. If you're interested, bring more money, it's sorta expensive).

Sounds awesome, especially since I'm only three or four hours from Boston. I doubt I can make it, but it's still nice to see a US meet-up.

Sidenote #3: Bring your camera, DS, and Multiplayer DS games (like Mario Kart DS, Star Fox Command, and Metroid Prime Hunters). I'm sure we'll have to wait awhile in line, so it will be fun to race and fight eachother to pass the time.

I just thought I'd tell everybody now so it would give people enough time to plan things out. As James has already said, there are other tour dates, but we're just focusing on Boston.

Aww... Another meet up. I wish you guys the best with this. Having just missed the UK meet up due to a pain in the ass holiday, (that wasn't so great anyway) I feel kinda jealous of you guys.

Boston? Whee, I'm like and hour and a half from there (without traffic) But no chance I'd be able to go, because 14th and a 15th are Wednesday and Thursday meaning I'd have school responsibilities.

All the best of luck with the meetup folks and do take photos of course =). Mariokart Wii looks fantastic and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun (not just because of the tour bus of course )

I was thinking of doing so, but I had my reasons:
1: Since there was already 7 stickied threads, I thought that was too much (and let it be).
2: I didn't think there were a lot of New England ZUers, so I just thought it wouldn't catch that much attention.

But leave it stickied (if it pleases you), but in my honest opinion, something needs to go down because 9 threads seems a lot (at least to me).

Dammit! If this meetup were happening in June, I could so be there!

At any rate, in mid-June, I'm going up to NJ/NYC and Connecticut to visit some friends and family up in those parts. If any of you are nearby those areas (it's New London, CT specifically, but the state is small enough I can drive around pretty much anywhere), I can meet up with some of you then!
