"If they're fat, is because they've got the money to be fat."

And no, I don't hate fat people.

This has been told to me by two overweight people who I've tried to help, but they gave up and I don't deal with that. I can't help someone if they aren't willing to help themselves.

And those fat people are like negative marks on your team. Not only will they be worse than the normal players, they will actively ♥♥♥♥ up the team. They will get in the way, they will fumble the ball, they will rarely think of it strategically and it's pretty annoying when someone screws up your team because of their own incompetence, even if they have an excuse.
I must have been the exception to the rule. In highschool, I was pretty fat, still am now, but I've been losing weight and actually bettering my life in general, but that's whatever.

The only "games" I sucked at were baseball and kickball. In baseball I'd either hit a long one or strike out, but I mostly struck out. XD I was a big target to get slammed with in kickball so lolololol.

But in football, I used to be picked last and get treated like I had the persona of what you described. I took it to my advantage! I can't tell you how many times I split the seams and went deep for a spectacular catch. It was pretty awesome.

In basketball I was a great defender on the inside, I'm tall and got a lot of rebounds, and I practiced hard to get my three ball to be money. Again I got open on the outside a lot, and would just put it up.

But yea, with all the things top get kids to play these days, and the move to stop obesity, there is nothing wrong with seeing a fat person and not liking their health habits, and maybe worrying about the fact that they could die to a premature heart attack. I'm guessing that's where some of the hate comes from. You just can't let it takeover into hating a person entirely.

Yeah...no.

Sometimes, it is quite the opposite. Bread is one of the cheapest foods available. I remember when I was down in Argentina in some of the poorest areas and seeing a good deal of obese people.

To be fair, in times past, money correlated to weight because the poor could only afford the most basic types of food. Those food types often were bland and had moderate levels of starch and coupled with the tiny volume of food that could be afforded leads to the general trend that poorer people were less heavy.

Wheat bread on the other hand is actually quite high in starch, so it's relatively easy to become fat from it. It was also expensive in some areas. Corn is also starchy (more so than wheat), so that explains why the poor in Argentina were obese, plus the fact that being poor in the past and being poor now entails entirely different purchasing power. Past poverty limited diet much more than current.

Explains the sexual preference of larger people in certain caste systems like India's--larger people have more money (evidenced by their ability to buy enough food to be fat) and therefore can provide better for each other.

That appears to be the case in a lot of areas. pawptart has a point that in the old days, bigness was seen as a sign of wealth though.

The poor = big dynamic seems to be kind of recent. The reason is also because of cheap, easy to make food is very fattening and filled with calories and carbs and junk like that. Eating healthy can be extremely costly.

The saying I replied to is now outdated and irrelevant.

Exactly. It may or may not be recent, but it is current. That's what I'm getting at. Also, a lot of these foods are starchy, and therefore "Feel good" foods.

Re: Hating Fat people

I think you have a right to be annoyed with what people are doing to there bodies.
However in some cases, there are usually underlying issues that have resulted in their weight gain.
speaking on experience; i' am a only child and technically i lost my dad due to his stupidity with the law, i lost my best friend due to an accident and my mum was diagnose with the 3rd most aggressive form of Kidney cancer.
With all these things my life and state of mind slowly spiraled out of control, and the only thing that made me feel better was eating. It was like my own form of suicide (if you can say that).
It has taken me 10 years to move on from everything that has happened and my weight is finally at a healthy range.
basically what im trying to say is maybe you should think about what some of these people are going through at the time, as i know food was my only way out, especially when i was a kid.
however if they are just pure lazy people then i can see why you have an issue.

i hope this helped
