Gorons in ALttP?

Okay so I was playing ALttP the other day and I saw this guy-

And I immediately thought of this guy-

So, I was wondering, could these possibly be the same creature?
My theory is that eventually some of the younger Gorons became corrupted by Ganon in FSA, and in ALttP, Agahnim (I can never remember how his name is spelled) finished the job by possessing the rest of them.

This thread is now open for discussion.

They are enemies and they are called "deadrock",they aren't gorons, gorons don't appear in ALTTP.

Re: Gorons in ALttP?

Those enemies are called Hebras I believe (As in FSA's Hebra's Hill).

I can't see the 3rd image you posted after the two Hebras...

...was this it?

The closest thing I can think of relating to Gorons in ALttP is this quote from the manual:

Quote:
Below the ruins of the desert, in the graves of the high mountain people, various information flew around. But there was never an example of discovery.

I have heard it before but that don't come from the english ALTTP manual, it would come from the japanese, but i need a real sourse.

umm, Gorons didn't exist at the time of LttP. why would they appear in a game that predates their first appearance?

That was the point of OoT. Everything in LttP is given a backstory in OoT, and Gorons could very likely have been based on those critters.

Re: Gorons in ALttP?

These guys turn into some kinda shiny blue stone when struck, have wings and I think tails, and are skinny with big heads.
The only traits they share with Gorons are the orange skin and imperiousness to Link's sword. I gotta say, the differences outweigh the similarities.

I also gotta say that "differences outweigh the similarities" line of thought failed me with the Zora/Rito situation in Wind Waker. But I'm sure this time it's different.

Indeed, it does come from the Japanese manual. Here is the source.

Re: Gorons in ALttP?

I reckon deadrocks were the inspiration for Gorons in the same way Zoras were for Zoras and may have been the same creature until OoX specifically said Zoras were different and had them in the same game and FSA had deadrocks and Gorons in the same game.

Design inspiration, perhaps. Same creature? Unlikely.

Re: Gorons in ALttP?

Jarsh, that quote you stated earlier about the "graves of the high mountain people" could mean that the Gorons died out by the time the events in A Link to the Past happened. It's very possible, which would explain why we don't see Gorons in the game.

Well, why not. They migrated before Wind Waker.
By the time LoZ roll around, they're completely extinct thought

Re: Gorons in ALttP?

I think the extinction is more likely. And those mosnters DO look like them to me. But, Gorons don't turn to stone, they eat stone.
