Ganon's Goal in TP?

What exactly was Ganon trying to accomplish in TP after he had already escaped the Twilight Realm, and how was he planning to use his new Twilight Powers?

Zant says he wished to "merge light and shadow and make darkness." Does this mean he was trying to merge the Light world with the Twilight Realm and create the Dark World?

And why possess Zelda during the final battle instead of fighting Link in normal form? He did reference the "chosen power of the gods" several times during that scene, so my only guess is that, knowing Zelda possessed the Triforce of Wisdom, he knew that if he stole her body, he would have both the Triforce of Wisdom and the Triforce of Power.

What would he have done if he managed to kill Link and Zelda? He obviously planned to take over Hyrule, but Zant's statement saying "My god had only one wish" seems to imply that Ganondorf intended to create a Dark World for himself. How would he even do this?

For some reason, I think it's a start to LttP

So the way I see it: merge the twilight realm and the light realm together. Zant would be it's king, but Ganondorf wanted to be it's god. He would be worshipped by both Zant and all of Hyrule.

Apparently Ganondorf was completely satisfied with his piece of the triforce, as he makes no mention of gathering the other 2. Of course, he was unaware that Link and Zelda( or Midna?) had the other pieces... so I think it's safe to assume that he wasn't searching for them.

New "Twilight Powers"? The game clearly states that the ToP is far more powerful
than the magic of the Twili.

Expanding the Twilight was what Zant wanted to happen. Ganondorf allowed this
because it let him escape the Twilight Realm.

Well how else can Ganondorf get rid of the light without twilight magic? Ganondorf himself uses twilight magic in combination with his ToP during his fight with Link.... so in a way he does have "Twilight Powers".

The only evidence of Ganondorf using Twili Magic was teleportation as far as I can tell.

Look at his arms. Those are clearly twilight markings on his body. He also has those markings on other places of his body. Very similar to the ones that wolf Link and the other twili have on their bodies. So yes, he is using Twilight Magic.

As we see in the ending of the game, Ganondorf wasn't lying to Zant. Him and Zant became as one. Zant desired to get rid of the light, and Ganondorf desired to rule the light world, by ... ironically, getting rid of the light also.

The light Ganondorf wanted to get rid of was symbolic light as in light/darkness (good/evil).

Twilight is a half-light, half-dark physical property, (not symbolic) that allows the Twili
to exist since they can't mingle with full light.

Conquer Hyrule, as always. That was his initial goal back in OoT. Why go into details?

Actually, I'm going to go into details just to show how silly it is.

Ganondorf wants to rule Hyrule, he has no interest in giving Zant powers. Zant wants to get back at Hyrule and he could achieve that through Ganondorf. But Ganondorf doesn't care about Zant's people, while Zant does. And all Ganondorfs secrets might be unveiled if Zant find his love letters to Midna when Zant sneaks into Ganonforf's bedroom after his master told him off for installing the wrong security force field inside Hyrule Castle. On top of that, Bulbin King can't decide whether he should go for Link or Ganon, so he decides to talk to his best friend Zelda who knows something about Link and Midna...

Because when he takes over things become a Dark World, not a Twilight Realm.
Evil is pure darkness, not a wishy-washy half-light.

Well, I don't want to debate with Cukeman, so I guess Ganondorf's mission statement is pretty much like this:

My Goal: To conquer and rule the light world.

Plan to acheive this goal: Use Zant to escape the Twilight Realm, and then.... uhhhh.... I don't know... I didn't really give it much thought, so I guess I'll just sit in the castle until I come up with something...

So you missed the huge plot point where he called himself the King of Light and Shadow and possessed Zelda using Twilight?

Light and Shadow has nothing to do with Twilight...

Like I said, the only Twili magic I saw Ganon use was for movement,
teleportation, or moving inside Zelda to possess her :|
