I think that dark link was from a trance put on Link, and Dark Link was a mental block to escape, that could explain why the room changes after you beat him because link brakes the trance.

That only explains the Dark Link in OoT. There was Link's Shadow, the final boss in AoL, and there were Shadow Link's in FSA. Technically Veran created Shadow Link's too.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before in the thread, (couldn't find it, though) but doesn't the gossip stone in Ikana say that The Fierce Deity is a combination of all masks? Or doesn't that make a difference?

You have a good memory Fågelholken I had forgotten about this quote. It doesnt exactly imply a combination, rather that it contains the merits of all masks. This indicates even further that the Deity Mask is recieved/found as a result of assisting all of Termina's inhabitants. In my opinion, it makes sense that Link discovers a more powerful version of himself through his selfless acts during the course of Majora's Mask.

Nonetheless, here is the quote. Thanks for enduring my opinion there.

Ok, can I just bring this up again.Dark link was a formation of pure evil in human for made to mimic and overpower link. At this point in history there is no twilight realm. It isn't like everyone has a dark part and they just don't know it. That's why after you beat dark like the room transformed into its normal self. It was being charmed by Gannon's magic. In all other Zelda games they were caused by gannons magic. Duh.

Secondly, I'm saying each person has a counterpart. Whether a shadow or not, they do.

But Ganon was in the one with Dark Link. And maybe they don't all have counterparts, maybe the Fierce Deity Link, is the real Link from Termina. There's a thought for yah.

^Every character has a Terminian counterpart? That's an assumption formed through overzealous interpritation of a manual quote, nothing more. All that is claimed in the manual is that 'Some characters may appear familiar at first glance'.

Furthermore, the Wikipedia quote that labels Termina an alternate version of Hyrule is embellishment, typical of a fallible information resource when speaking of fantasy. For all intents and purposes, Termina is entirely different from Hyrule, in history, customs, geography and tradition.

The only character similarity is through reused models.

Whoa, whoa. I didn't say Terminan counterpart. I'm just saying every character has a mirror image, one or 100. It doesn't matter.

Hyperactivity, a mirror image, an alternate form. Forget about Termina, each person has a mirror image, if its terminan or whatever. Link apparently just has two (that I know of, correct me if I'm wrong). Dark Link, and (assumably) Fierce Deity.

Really? Damns. I only know of OOT with Dark Link.

But, what if there is no counterparts, what if Firce Deity Link is the Link from Termina? I think that's cooler.
