Re: PH takes place in AoL?
Well, I'm not exactly keen on the subject myself, but notice how the World of the Ocean King and AoL Hyrule both have a Maze Island.

Re: PH takes place in AoL?
But is a Maze Island really all there is? I've never looked into comparing the Geography of AoL to any other games myself.

Re: PH takes place in AoL?
The Phantom Hourglass overwrodl is the flood upper-left part of The Advetnure of Link overworld. I user on this site compared them- the islands match with parts of the map, though it is unflooded in The Advetnure of Link.
The most notable thing is Maze Island in the upper right corner, and how that little island with the Courage, Power, and Wisdown fairy things matches up with a little island on The Adventure of Link map that has a dungeon. Mercy Island matches up with the Town of Naboruu, too. |

Re: PH takes place in AoL?
![]() I would do a comparison of this to the World of the Ocean King map, but I am too lazy! Use your imagination to draw the lines between them. Start with Maze Island. Below unflooded World of the Ocean King is Labrynna/Holdrum on The Advetnure of Link map. At the bottom of this map is the Goron Island area, which is the top of Labrynna or Holdrum: Goron Mountain is Goron island. |

Re: PH takes place in AoL?
I think Mercay Island reminds me of the area around Kasuto. Same structure and both areas are parallel to Maze Island the same way. Well, I really don't think it matter's anyway.

Re: PH takes place in AoL?
The layout of the Eastern Sea somewhat resembles the overworld of AoL:
-Maze Island is the most obvious similarity; it is a locale unique to AoL and PH -The Isle of the Dead is shaped similarly to the eastern island in AoL (a king's head, facing east); there is a graveyard with the graves of the "six sages", and AoL's towns were said to have the same names as OoT's sages to indicate that the sages' names became those of the towns later -The Isle of Ruins is dotted with ancient tombs and temples, the foremost of these being the "king's tomb"; the main continent in AoL shares these qualities and also has a "king's tomb" -For the first time, the habitat of the Gorons (Death Mountain in most games; called Goron Island in this game) is not at the northmost edge of the map, but to the south; in AoL, Death Mountain is to the south of the main overworld also There are obvious differences in scale; but I think we can agree that the scale usually doesn't agree between games and we know that the Cobble Kingdom area was large enough to be, well, an entire kingdom, so we know that the areas are probably comparable in size. |
