LOL
I'm sure they didnt. Once I saw a thread there about how the enemies evolved from RL animals

Anyway, AST kind of disproves that Hyrule can be a past version of the real world.

So, let me have the honor

Re: Possible Hylian Ancestors

I am actually a descendent of Ganondorf who raped Saria in the child timeline and I am a Gerudo/Kokiri crossbreed- why I'm short but have easy-tan skin despite little in the way of mediterranean heritage.

In an infinitely expanding universe....literally ANYTHING is possible.

Not in this reality, however.

Re: Possible Hylian Ancestors

I KNOW I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO POST HERE, BUT:

The Legend of Zelda (the first game) was known as The Hyrule Fantasy: The Legend of Zelda in Japan. Therefore, it's fantasy, not reality. Unless you're Captain N.

I mean, every religion started out with someone believing a crazy story. Well I don't see how this is any different.

Oh, and another thing.....your a BIG JERK for ridiculing my beliefs.
Hey, gametard, calm down.

Yes, because using religion as an anchor is going to make people believe your crackpot fanfic theory. [/sarcasm]

Shut up, and grow up, yes one way to interpret religion is as a crazy story (I believe that... but I digress), but insulting someone because of what they believe in is offensive and makes you look like an idiot.

I'm inclined to agree. Now, theorise right, or get out.

Re: Possible Hylian Ancestors

Hn Twilight Princess Shad blabers stuff but he says "Acording to legend, Hyrule was made by the Hylians, who, as we know are closest race to the gods. But long ago, a fable mentions, a race closer to the gods, and that made the Hylians. They created the people of Hylia, and a new capital, a floating city in the heavens."

Ooccoo made hylians.

In all fairness, we were the ones insulting him. Who are we to question it? As long as he doesn't harm anyone or cause damage to the community.

Re: Possible Hylian Ancestors

Still, the OP should know the difference between games and reality. Reality is the one that sucks.

Anyway, on topic, I believe the game designers for rooms and dungeons/temples drew inspiration from more than one culture. You may have Greek in one dungeon, or Arabic in the next. That's really what gives Zelda this otherwordly feel, IMO. It doesn't have to mean they had an actual connection to Greek or Arabic Folk, however.

Lighten up Neo, a little Troll is fun every now and again. Next time Hombre or someone's online it'll be sorted, for now- sit back and have fun with it!

Besides, rent-a-modding is also a bannable offense, so don't complain too much!

To add onto this, when I was doing research a few years ago before Twilight Princess came out, I noticed a lot of similar designs on the Twili designs that were comparable to designs on ancient Chinese vessels and mirrors.

Also, to stay on the same game, the Temple of Time uses Gothic architecture while Snowpeak Ruins uses a mix of Gothic and Romanesque architecture.

And as far as the written language in the game is concerned, it's based off of Latin characters.

Don't forget how Roc's Feather or the cape are based off of the mythological Roc in our world. So yeah, there are real-world connections in the games, but they are references of mythology, architecture, and art history in our world, to name a few subjects.
