The Interlopers were banished before Ganondorf. That's why, as Zelda says, the godesses left the Mirror of Twilight in Hyrule. The godesses left it there so the Twili could meet Link and Zelda, so the creation of the Twilight mirror and the banishment of the Twili must have happened in close proximity of time. Ganondorf was banished after the Interlopers had already been imprisoned.

Re: The Gerudo and the Twili. Any connection?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I guess we don't really know what race the interlopers were, and even if they were the first to be sent to the twilight?
If the interlopers were Gerudo, then they would have kept their symbolism with them, and after years of mixing with other criminals sent to the twilight, they ended up become one race, called the Twili??, who had no fault whatsoever to be imprisoned (since their ancestors were criminals, not them)
Or if at any point a gerudo was sent to the twilight, became ruler, and imposed such symbol.

My personal belief goes towards they symbols just being there b/c ganondorf is in power, and the symbok before the cutscene was just something Nintendo didn't think about.

During the final battle in TP, Ganondorf makes it pretty obvious that he is trying to differentiate himself from the Twili, who he said had "long amused him" and were "pathetic." If the Twili were Gerudo, he wouldn't talk about them like that.

^Exactly. To further convey this, her refers to the Twili as Midna's people, diretly before referencing their defiance of the Gods - something that obviously occured long ago. Ganondorf was clearly distanced from them.

The old emblem symbol thing was a crescent and a star, but they changed it to what it is now because it offended muslims.

You revived a month-old thread for a statement that isn't even relevant?

On topic, though, I like to think the Twili were a mix of Gerudo and Sheikah rebels, but all we can do right now is speculate.
I always thought about:

Zuna -> DI + Sheikah (Bred in with Gerudo ) = Twili

I also believe this. The Gerudo symbol and Shiekah eye existing in Twili culture seems to be strongly supported by this. TP's text says the Interlopers appeared "among those living in the light," meaning they were light dwellers, aka Hyruleans.

Re: The Gerudo and the Twili. Any connection?

Actually the Japanese translation for the interlopers is
Quote:
人々の中に、魔術に長けた者達が現れ
In the midst of the people, persons who excelled at magic appeared.
Persons. They can be anyone. I doubt they were Zoras though as we see they have a long time relation with the royal family.

Shiekah + Gerudo + Zuna + Hylians + actuall shadows = Interlopers.

I don't think the twili has gerudo ancestry, because isnt the majority of the gerudos female.
without any male the race would die out

I personally think that the Twili are Zuna, and that their bodies didn't really change
much over the years, other than their sensitivity to light.

lol we don't know what subrosians look like.

The Zant and Twili both have blue-green skin, and although we don't know
if the Zuna have red hair or not, the Twili's red hair seems to help
place them in the desert near the red-haired Gerudo (the Zuna live
in the desert)

I just thought the subrosians evolved from a monster from one of the earlier 3D games.

They wear cloaks underground too, so the purpose of the cloaks is very
unlikely to be sun-related (they don't remove the cloaks when they go underground)

Re: The Gerudo and the Twili. Any connection?

But FPTRRl confirmes that they wear cloaks because the sun will make them turn to dust if they get hit by the it.

At any rate, I'm not saying I believe it, but simply that ot's an interesting observation.

the creatures in FPTRRI is not subrosians, they are calles salona.
the salona is descendants of a band of brave men, a demon placed a curse on the men and their future descendants.
