New Fire Temple Theory

Has anyone ever noticed the location of the OoT Fire Temple in relation to Spectacle Rock?
For those who don't know, Spectacle Rock is a pair of equally-(if not nearly equally)-sized stalagmites that are normally somewhere on or near Death Mountain. In OoT, these rocks are inside Death Mountain Crater with the Fire Temple entrance right in front of the base. This has lead me to believe that the OoT Fire Temple IS Spectacle Rock. Also, the floor plan for the Fire Temple looks very much like two towers meaning it would fit neatly inside Spectacle Rock.
As for its first use, I have also noticed many cast-iron cross-bar doors behind which many gorons are locked up. This could mean that the Fire Temple was originally a Maximum-security Prison.

If the Fire Temple is Spectacle Rock, how do you account for its distance from the peaks?

Wow. Your idea sounds plausible enough, but I doubt that the temple was a prison. What would the Gorons do with such a thing?

Fire temple is most likely Dragon Roost cavern. Notice both have metallic structures such as cells and crap like that. Also, they are both inside a volcano.

The Fire Temple looks nothing like the gorons' work. It is decorated with faces that are neither tribal patterns nor goron likenesses, and the architecture is far neater than anything they've ever been shown to build. It doesn't matter if the gorons needed its intended function or not.

It is... on the AT. What I'd assume (or how I'd like to interpret) the OP is saying is that LttP's and LoZ's Spectacle Rock could be the Fire Temple's CT future.

All I know is that Goron mines in TP(CT) is the FT as well.

The Fire Temple is also Level 9 AKA Ganon's Lair in Legend of Zelda.

Well, a fire themed dungeon is very generic in most games. We can't base ourselves on names and themes alone. Location mofos, locations.

Actually, The Goron Mines in TP could not possibly be the Fire Temple in OoT. For one, their layouts look nothing alike. I'd be more inclined to think that the TP Goron Mines is the same as the OoT Dodongo's Cavern. Also the architecture of the Fire Temple is much more advanced than anything the Gorons have made.

Well, let's not forget that the dungeons can't be identical for gameplay purposes. But they are very much alike. You say the Goron mines are not advanced? How about the big mechanism on the center room? That's pretty advanced machinery if you ask me. We also have cells in both dungeons and the obvious location similitude.

Obvious location similitude?! Excuse me, take a look at the surroundings of the Goron Mines...in TP you can't reach the ACTUAL Death Mountain, which can only be seen in the distance. And OOT's Fire Temple is located INSIDE the crater of the ACTUAL Death Mountain, which is that giant volcano we're not able to reach in TP. 2+2=4 as Fire Temple=/=Goron Mines, for geographic reasons.
Back on topic, I believe the FT is inside-below spectacle rock too.

I don't think the whole FT is SPectacle Rock, but I'm sure the room with the staircase where you get the Megaton Hammer is in one of the rocks.

I think it's safe to link them- minor geographical differences I can abide by. After all, we accept that the mountain and the waterfall swap entirely!

I'm guessing the Fire Temple was the place where the Goron's built a temple after originally defeating and burying Volvagia. Ganon coverted parts of it into a prison to hold the Goron's captive as part of his plant to feed them to Volvagia to strike fear into people.

Well, The Goron mines are a large complex, it wouldn't surprise me they would be connected to Death mountain Crater.

naaah...Nintendo always mess with proportions...remember, for example OOT's LonLon Ranch: seen from outside it was a rather small area ontop of a hill, but inside it was a vast plane area almost as big as Hyrule field itself. Same goes with the Water Temple location and Jabu Jabu's Belly.
This occours in TP too (for example look at the towers of HC from Hyrule Field, Castle Town and HC garden...proportions are all messed up).

Dude, Gorno Mines are inside the volcano in death mountain....
