To say that a Zelda game could be related to another completely canon Zelda game?

Why do people so fervently deny that this could be WW related? The girl is the spitting image of the Fairy Queen and WW is just as canon as TP is. Art style doesn't mean ****.

Re: Mystery Girl is the Master Sword

ya, from the visual similarities I definitely believe that she is some sort of humanoid incarnation of the master sword.

Perhaps the game will be set with a Link that lived while the master sword was still not created yet and only the spirit existed. That would be quite interesting to see both story wise and game-play wise.

Re: Mystery Girl is the Master Sword

At the moment a friend told me about this theory, I thought it made much sense, and could very well be real. The girl does look like the spirit of the Master Sword, with all the design details.
Oh, and I don't get the "And this is obviously his left hand". In the artwork, he's holding the shield with his left hand. I'm afraid Link will be right-handed in this new Zelda...

About this Link living in an era before the creation of the Master Sword. Just because we can (finally?) see the spirit of the Master Sword, it doesn't mean the story takes place before the sword was crafted. This spirit could have always existed, but never appeared in a game. I don't know, everything is possible until we get more information, but I doubt this game takes place before Ocarina of Time, since in theory it's the first Zelda of all.

Re: Mystery Girl is the Master Sword

due to the blue gem and the cloack being drooped downrward (comparison to TWW master sword), as well as what i THINK is a "cursed shape", i believe that the girl is the spirit of the sword in a cursed state, and not being in the master sword causes it to lose power. in other words, i think that girl is the power to repel evil.

I wonder if anyone has thought that maybe since it has artwork of both TP and WW, that this would be the game that combines the timelines back into one. Its just artwork, I know. Just a random rambling.

Link will be Right-handed, that's pretty obvious, like in TP he was right-handed, we right-handed people are more than the left-handed people, in the game we wii need to use the sword with the wiimote.

So, has anyone thought about the idea that maybe that girl has nothing to do with the ms at all?

They have stated multiple times that the wiimote will be equivalent to the tilt of the MS in this game. So I get the feeling we will get to choose our dexterity in this game...

Brilliant deduction.

Along with all the visual evidence and and the fact he has no sword in its pouch thing, It is probably the MS. But it could be powered down that Link has to save it. But no one but the spirit of the MS knows so it has to tell link itself...or something like that.

You COMPLETELY blew my ****ing mind! The game that re-combines the timeline(s)... Very intriguing.

I think it's official. Eather she is the Master Sword or has some conection to it. The patterns on her are too much of a coincedence.

Not really. It's completely illogical if you think about it - far more illogical than the actual split. The recombined world would have two sets of histories, two Master Swords, two Triforces, and maybe even seperate versions of the exact same people. It would ruin everything.

And as far as my theories regarding the sword girl are concerned, I think that she's the spirit of the Master Sword and that she is released because the Master Sword gets broken. And the game would involve travelling with her to find the sages who originally created the Master Sword so that they can reforge it. And the reforged sword would look more like the sword from ALTTP, fixing the plothole of why it looks different to in the other games.

Reading the first post, I think that you're onto something. It looks really similar. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo tried to do something like that.

actually this is what i think as well. It's an interesting idea and certainly would open up alot of good story ideas. The appearance of the girl is too similar to the Master Sword but also similar to a fairy like spirit. who knows?! It is too soon to tell but i think the visual evidence is pretty good.

If that were to happen, the World of Zelda would explode...or the path of reality gets destroyed...and everyone becomes insane.
Yeah, i know all that sounds stupid but recombine the timelines is even more stupid.

I propose that we call this girls Master Sword-tan. Or simply Sword-tan, if that's easier. See here for the reason:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moe_anthropomorphism

We need a name for here. This seems to fit the bill.

Girl in Wii Zelda might NOT be the Master Sword

As I was replying in another of my theory threads, I mentioned that it would have to be explained what happened to the Master Sword after TP. This got me thinking.

What if, instead of being the Master Sword, the girl in the poster is Link's NEW sword? Think about it; maybe the only way to keep Ganon from coming back in EITHER timeline is to not remove the Master Sword from him. If the MS can not be regained it would explain Link not holding a sword in the poster. If a new threat were to arise and strike at Hyrule, what would the Hero use against it? Let's say this was beyond the ordinary evil, and a truly powerful blade was necessary. Like, Master Sword powerful. A new one would have to be made.

I realize the one catch with this theory is that if Ganondorf does not have the MS removed from him in either timeline, then how can he come back? If anyone knowledgeable enough in the games could work through this caveat then I think this could be a pretty solid theory.

Opinions? Suggestions? Comments?
