Nayru's Love and Magic Armor(WW)

upon playing the windwaker again I noticed that the Magic armor in the game looks similar to the spells in Oot, more importantly Nayru's Love the both do the same thing, they keep you from taking damage.

forgive me if this is common knowledge, but could they both be the same spell?

Whoah! Nice catch! I can't believe I never noticed that before!! AND it's more than likely that, since the understanding of old magic (nayru's love, din's fire, etc.) has been lost through the ages, 'Magic Armor' is the kind of thing it would be renamed.

It is the same shape as Nayru's love, however the colors resemble Din's Fire moreso. They do serve the same purpose, yet depict different colours and have different names

It could become a complicated issue of where it is obtained in game on the timline (Child or adult). Also it is a fairy possession, so Zunari would probably have to obtain it from a fairy.

I personally doubt they are the same artifact... but they may be.

Well the crystals in the original [Goddess]'s _______ were all the same color, it was only the orb in the middle that gave it a red, green, or blue tint. Maybe the Magic Armor crystal was just changed to red for the heck of it? The Magic Armor in TP is red, when defense is usually associated with blue... The version in Wind Waker could just be a retcon of Nayru's Love.

I've often thought about this myself. It's hard to say whether the two are really the same artifact; on one hand, the similar shape and style suggests a relation between the two, but on the other hand, color-wise, it looks nothing like the goddesses' spells from OoT.

I don't know...I'm kinda leaning towards not. My guess is that someone else probably crafted TWW's Magic Armor in a similar style to the goddesses' spells, hence the similar shape.

I noticed this last year and mentioned it to my brother. He almost fainted. However, I do belive it is the same spell, just maybe a diffrent casty-thing. I mean, there has to be more than one spell of each type in existence, so this could just be a diffrent Nayru's Love.

Nice catch. I wonder if those crystals have any connections to the ones from LttP and AoL...

The ones in ALttP and AoL served completly different purposes

I think this is a great theory. I've often wondered about this for a lonmg time. As for where Zunari claimed it...his figurine says he came from a far off land.

yeah I tought about this too, I was just not having a nice way to explain it, so I never pointed it out.

On a side note: Crystals usually serve the purpose of sealing (maids most commonly), that happened in OoS, OoT, FSA and ALttP. So maybe those crystals are also used to seal magic spells of different kinds.

They can be the same artifact, i always tought that they have some conection.

I think he is talking about the sphere in the center of the crystal

The sphere in the center of what... Because as far a center spheres go:

Nayru's Love = Blue

Magic Armor = A Black pattern

Din's Fire = Red

He was meaning the actual colour of the crystal I think...

The fishmen who know about zunari and the magic armor is located next to the NORTH FAIRY ISLAND. mmmm interesting.

It may be the same artifact. Just a redisign or another version of Nayru's love. Let's remember that a great fairy gives you this power in OoT. We can assume there are more in existance.

I would say that there is the only one in all of Hyrule.

Just think about more in existence. The Great Fairies wouldn't want one of them to fall into the wrong hands.

Keeping one in existence means that they can easily watch over the only person that owns it.

And besides, having one means that all the power can go into one instead of replenishing hundreds at times.

Perhaps the Great Fairy in PH? After all, the blue fairy in PH gives Link extra defense, and Zunari does look a lot like an Anouki. Hmm...

Yes, but then there are two Hyrules, and depending on where Link obtains Nayru's love in OoT, there could be two in the AT.

In phantom hourglass the great fairy is who giveyou all the extras with the gems(power,wisdom and courage).

In OOT the great fairy of wisdom enhance your magic meter.
The great fairy of courage enhance your defensive power.
The great fairy of power is the leader of all the fairies and she teach you the spin atack.

In OOT the great fairy of Magic is the fairy who give you the Nayru's love crystal,din's fire crystal and farore wind crystal.
Great fairy of magic is the gerat fairy who create all the magic crystals/magic spells.

I think that the magic armor should be the Nyru's love crystal, remmeber that the hero left some artifacts over hyrule when he was sended back in time.

Conclusion:
Magic armor crystal and nayru's love crystal are the same artifact,they don't need to have the very exact desing.
