The Mirror of Twilight and the Magic Mirror

Howdy, McDuck here!

This could be more of a query than a theory but could well turn into one; the relation between the 'mirror of twilight' and the 'magic mirror' is something I've searched around the internet and had little luck. After extensive (google) research, I turn to ZU for answers.

Is there a relation between the two? They both link to 'dark' worlds in seperate games . . . are they the same mirror? I don't know. Do you?

No, because Dark World =/= Twilight Realm.

However if we go onto the DARK MIRROR mentioned in FSA, then it's possible that the DM = TM.

The mirror of twilight was created by the Goddesses they give the mirror to the light spirits and then the light spirits passed the mirror to the sages.

Light spirits:
Among those living in the light, interlopers who excelled at magic appeared.
Wielding powerful sorcery, they tried to establish dominion over the Sacred
Realm.
It was then that the goddesses ordered us three light spirits to intervene..

Though the goddesses forbade us to return to the world of light, they left one
link between the light and the darkness.
Something called the Mirror of Twilight was passed to the protectors of
Hyrule...

At the command of the goddesses, we sages have guarded the Mirror of Twilight

I know now the reason the goddesses left the Mirror of Twilight in this

Some people believe that the Mirror of Twilight is the child timeline counterpart and the magic mirror is the adult timeline counterpart.

that doesn't make any sense at all...it would make more sense as a terminian counterpart, but both mirrors are Hyrulean, or maybe Alttp has been retconned think about the possibility.

Magic mirror

If you gaze into the magic mirror in some point of hyrule(light world) you was absorb into the dark world(sacred realm), if you want to return to the light world you need to pass through of a magical portal that the mirror left in the exact point where you arrives when you was teleported.

If you wander into a magical transporter, gaze into this mirror.

The magical mirror is a handheld mirror, a little mirror.



Mirror of twilight
With the mirror of twilight you can travel between the light world and the twilight relam,the mirror reflects a magical light over one big stone and you pass throug the portal that was openend in the stone.
-The mirror of twilight is a huge mirror.


They are different mirrors.

They are different mirrors.

Indeed they are different mirrors, but I being to believe that they could contain similar elements that allows people to shift into different light and dark dimensions.

I'm just saying they seem like similar patterns. You never know . . .

I think there is a possibility I just don't see why you would have to mirrors that take you to two different worlds. Who knows, it may be a coincidence because TP is a remake or ALttP.

I'm sorry, I might sound like an idiot or saying this but is there really a proven difference between the twilight realm and the dark world? I mean, aside from the whole changing into animals that reflect your true nature deal?

The Dark World is the result of Ganondorf touching the Triforce in OoT. The Dark World is the Sacred Realm, but evil.

The Twilight Realm is the dimension that the Twili were banished too, and since TP comes on the child timeline, before Ganondorf touched the Triforce, they aren't the same.

However, it is theorised that the Twilight Curtain (the stuff Zant spread over Hyrule) works in a similar fashion to the Moon Gate World from FSA.
But I'm not too knowledgeable on that topic, as I havn't played FSA.

Generally the Twilight Realm is confirmed to be what the Twili were driven into, however it is believed by some that the Dark World is Ganon's underworld (makai), and possibly the corrupted Sacred Realm! Some say (I agree), the Sacred Realm mirrors Hyrule, so it's landscape changes as Hyrule develops into the islands it does, hence the almost perfect mirrorness of the Dark World and Hyrule.

To elaborate further, the Sacred Realm is a mirror of the heart of the one who touches the Triforce as well as Hyrule, so it mirrors Ganons evil heart as well as Hyrule, making it the Dark Hyrule, or Dark World.

Thank you, my lord. Your insight is all I can ask for right now. I stopped playing FS before any mention of this "Twilight Curtain" arose; mostly because my stupid friend got bored of it. Why could that not have been a 1p game? WHY!?

Oh, no no, the Moon gate World was in Four Swords Adventures for the Gamecube.
And it was single-player! I never bought it, as I was on a break from alot of gaming while it was out. And I havn't been able to find a copy since.

The Moon Gate World is what appears in FSA, it is the darkness that Vaati spreads across Hyrule. Because it spreads, unlike the Dark World, it is thought that it is the Twilight Curtain, which can spread.

Oh ho ho! That's an important distinction to make! So are they really different games?
