Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

A massive amount of designs throughout the Zelda series and generic and reused, yet that doesn't mean they can't be theorized to have meaning. The Palace of Wind and City in the Sky Symbols are quite similar, and similar enough to give some support to the theory!

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

Since the Hookshot appears to be their invention, maybe there can be evidence of their influence even in the 2D games.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

That is a possibility, but I don't think the Goddesses would have helped. They never seem to interfere with what naturally happens in Hyrule at all. In fact, the only time they do anything after creating the world is flooding Hyrule.

So I doubt they aided the Oocca in creating the City in the Sky.
It's all Oocca creation.

Don't forget about commanding the Light Spirits to stop the Interlopers...
And choosing new holders of Triforce pieces if/when the Triforce splits...
And aiding Link in his quest in Termina...
And continually filling the Master Sword with evil-repelling power so long as Sages pray to them...
etc
The goddesses are more active than we give them credit for.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

Lord Insizor:

THIS is the beacon on alternative theorizing I have longed for aside from the relentless timeline bickering. I entirely enjoyed this; almost more than I enjoy Lex's work. haha

I've been poundering on these relations for a long time but I never could pinpoint the Oocca - Wind Tribe. The Maazal comparison brought up earlier just solidified my opinions on the ordeals you've compared and contrasted. It appears you did your homework... And I see you share an obsessive trait in the art of taking notes while playing through the games. Quite impressive dedication.

Although it's a shame this was not prompt for a ZI article release...

I have no regrets. I am content and fulfilled here. You might have even made THE breakthrough of making TMC - FIRST fanatics cry from now on. For that, I toast you:

Edit:

Hopefully "Master Skeptic" doesn't come barging in here with non-innovative reasoning.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

I'm glad to hear that LOZ H.

This was a re-written version of a previous piece, so it took a while to compile all the information and fix up errors in the old document.

I will likely suggest this for an article release in the future over at ZI, but we'll see.

this is a stretch, but could the stone tower and the oocca be related? hehe, just food for thought ^^

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

Well, the Stone Tower is in Termina, which is a parallel world to Hyrule, so it isn't likely.
The Stone Tower was most likely built by the Ikanian's.

This was a great read! And really well thought out, to think, little birds helped us in our quest. I love the idea of this little bit of history.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

I think I understand... I found it hard to believe that "chickens" were able to build cities when they lack opposable thumbs, but then we have the dominion rod, which would make a city built by chickens possible. See, the Oocca are the brains controlling massive statue warriors, builders, etc. which supply the brawn and acutal physical ability to do things. Does this make sense to anybody else?

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

One thing that sparks me is the boss room of the Temple of Time in TP.

What are those massive, hammer attacking statues for? Why would small chicken creatures need such mashers in the first place?

I was gonna say! XD

I thought it was built for punishment... But what Oocca could survive such a blow from something incredibly large?

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

i like this Theory but the idea of the Oocca being able to do all that stuff with no hands freaks me out.
but in fiction everything is possible, specially in Zelda.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

Added a bit with Impaz's quote, as the Japanese says that the Oocca maintained a cultural exchange with the Royal Family, solidifying that they helped the Hylian's.

Re: The Oocca - Engineers of Hyrule.

If I find something to add, or something that needs to be changed, I will take the appropriate action to fix that. That's the only way to end up with a perfect piece.

Besides, that was an extremely important piece of info for the opening of the article. I was lucky to come across it whilst looking through translations.

I doubt that.TMC doesn't come before OoT, and this theory still carries the same amount of weight regardless of where TMC comes on the adult timeline.
