where'd the shadow temple go?

in Tp, there is no shadow temple. this bugs me. but what also bugs me is that if TP takes place only a hundred or so years after Oot, why are all the temples changed? what is with all this geography changing? where o where did the gerudo and kokiri go( im not even going to mention the poor shiekah)?


i personally think that the shadow temple is somewhere behind old kakariko, the forest temple is somewhere buried in the woods, the fire temple is filled with magma( no doubt since death mountaing seems to have erupted violently), water temple either caved in or was drastically modified, and the spirit temple is the one and the same, drastically modified.

i also think that all the extra geography and rocks and such may have been cuased by death mountain erupting. after all, it does look much more unstable since Oot.

First of all, Twilight Princess doesn't take place a mere 100 years after Ocarina of Time. More like one to two thousand. This is clearly evidenced by the state of decay of the Temple of Time.

Second of all, Twilight Princess is it s own game. It isn't a remake of Ocarina of Time. So all the dungeons don't have to cross over.

The best response is one word:

Retcon.

Exuse me? Aunuma has stated on multiple occasions that it takes place a hundred or hundreds of years after OoT. Not thousands.

Aonuma: In the world of Ocarina of Time, a hundred and something years later.

Yep, only 100 or so years after OoT.

As Matt said, cheesecake, TP isn't a remake of OoT. It's geography has to be different, or it wouldn't be a new game at all. Of course some elements have to be preserved, such as Kakariko being on the foot of Death Mountain, and the Desert being near the Lake Hylia. The temples can be "hidden" like you said, but Nintendo probably just pretended like they never existed. Except for the Temple of Time, of course.

About the Sheikahs, Impa was the last of them. The Kokiris... Maybe they're hidden deep in Faron Woods? o.o Now that you've said, why they're the only race that doesn't appear in the game? Really strange...

there is no eye of truth in the game, perhaps it is hidden by illusion? also according to a guide, the 4th howling stone plays the nocturne of shadow, but the stone is in lake hylia and the wolf is in the desert. this shows no connection even to the eldin region. since the whole thing was underground, in a mountain, it probably is only visible by the door, which is unremarkable. check the graveyard and hidden village for clues, maybe the pool that rutela's grave represents the corridor over the royal family's tomb and leading to the door.

the gorons could have caved it in if they were mining, or on purpose.

the kokiri are tough to explain, I would say that link never enters the lost woods, but goes around back to the sacred meadow via the forest temple. because link only stays in these areas, he cannot become lost in them, but never goes near the hidden kokiri village.

Like everyone said it was it's own game, and OOT stated the Sheikah were gone I wish people would understand that, no offense to you but I have quite a few debates about that. Impaz is a Shiekah if your curious, she tells you what's up. The Kokiri dunno like Yeto said hiding, you don't exactly travel to whole forest or they turned to monkeys (lol joke) and there is speculation that the Gerudo are the Twili, left or fused in with the Hyrulians. So who knows...
As for the artifacts hardly ANY of them from OOT were in TP except the few fighting weapons other than that no gauntlets, no mirror shield, no giant blade, nothing...

if people thougt that they died out, then they were wrong. they had no idea due to her isolation inside the castle. I think that the sheikah live on but are obviously well hidden.

Many sheikah die in the fierce war but various sheikah stay alive after the fierce war.

It wouldn't be a good game if everything remained the same.

^ Impa was the last of then in OoT.

The other two came along during the TP timeline.

So to say, at that time of OoT, Impa was the only Shiekah left.

and now time to get off topic from the last of the sheika talk, go make another theory thread for that, and as for the shadow temple as most of the people not talking about the sheika it probs was covered by the death mountain eruption or the foundation was knocked out from it and collapesed in and a little ditch fell through and the zoras made it there little sanctuary graveyard , and for the rest i will say this,

Water Temple - was either completely remade over or collapsed and rebuilt
Fire Temple - destroyed by the eruption and same with dodongo carvarn and the temple was made into there mines
Forest Temple - destroyed by something (probaly the chasm thats there)
Spirit Temple - sandstorm got to fierce for anyone to pass and a mountain fell over blocking it and then the hylians ended up building Arbiter's Ground for there prison

and note: these are my suggestions and you people may or may not agree with them whatever you say is your choice

Shadow temple: always has been an underground temple, remains are most likley somewhere near Kakariko (the one from OoT, which I believe is the one seen in TP as Kakariko and not old Kakariko/hidden village)
Temple of Light/Time: obviously still around and even more accesible than in OoT
Spirit Temple: we never acces the proper area the Gerudos used to live in. The desert streches for ages if you look to the horrizont. My guess: not accesible in TP (arbitersground is obviously influenced by the same culture and probably quite close, but I highly doubt that it's the same place)
Water temple: lake bed temple, nuff said
Fire Temple: possibly parts of the goron mines or relativley close to them. (the mines are sacred to the Gorons)
Forest Temple: inacessable or completly colapsed...it was allready in bad shape during OoT. Note the curious similarity to the ruined Temple of time though.

yeah but everyone is saying that it is a completely different game and all but it does have a timeline planned and some of it allready confirmed, so yeah

i just think that there should be more....remnants or explanation of all of these changes.

Well, the shadow temple's only entrance was a through a cave. The cave might be sealed by a landslide or something.

that's totally frigin awesome, but you can't use it, it's only on display, is what I was getting by.

that and it was a house of the restless dead I'm sure after link destroys the main problem and the dead can finally rest there will be no need to run around and underground "Raccoon City"

I believe that the Shadow Temple was completely blocked throughout the years since no one visits it anymore. And if they did, what for? It's for the dead to rest in. More over of Hyrule's underground. It shouldn't be visited by the living anyway.

And so, they perhaps shun it from the world of the living for good.
