Personal Views on Points of Controversy II

1: Post your vies on points of controversy and interest in the world of Zelda Theorizing.

2: It doesn't have to be a major issue, and you don't have to write an essay Just give a brief overview on issues that you think people should know your beliefs.

3: If you change your beliefs about something, or add to your list, make a new post stating only the changes you have made. Don't post your whole list again. Update your first post, write the date you last updated it, and if you want, make a new post telling the specific changes you made.

4: This is NOT a debate thread. If something that someone posted goes against what you believe, make a new thread to debate that topic. Instead of spamming up this thread with arguing, use this thread as a reference of ideas that can be debated in the future.

So, without further ado...
Erimgard's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

Last Updated: December 6, 2008

Game Specific Topics

Legend of Zelda
-Ganon was possibly meant to wield the Trident, but could not because of graphical limitations.
-The Magical Sword is not the Master Sword.

Adventure of Link
-Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
-Maze Island is the same place as the one from Phantom Hourglass.

A Link to the Past
-The GBA version, and the changes made in it, are more canon than the SNES version.
-The lumberjacks are another form taken on by the Kokiri.
-The Swamp Maiden's speach about Ganondorf not being able to leave the Sacred Realm is a reference to Four Swords Adventures Ganondorf, the current one, and not OoT Ganondorf, the one from the Seal War.
-Ganon split his soul, creating a "bunshin", in order to escape the Seal prior to A Link to the Past.
-Ganon's soul-split possessed Agahnim.
-Agahnim was an ideal target for Ganon, as he was an evil priest.
-When Agahnim died, Ganon's soul-split left his body and returned to Ganon.
-The Palace of the Four Sword is canon.

Link's Awakening
-The Wind Fish is a descendant of, and/or the same type of spiritual being as the Ocean King of Phantom Hourglass.

Ocarina of Time
-Sharp and Flat were Sheikah.
-The Sheikah used Gossip stones to spy on the various races of Hyrule.
-Malon's mother was a Gerudo.
-The Desert Colossus is not representing Din.
-Kaepora Gaebora is not Rauru.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the other six Ancient Sages.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the Hylian Knights.
-In the ending, Link was sent back to a point after he had left the forest, but before he had met Zelda.

Majora's Mask
-Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule.
-Skull Kid is the same one who you play Saria's Song for, and sell a mask to, in Ocarina of Time.
-Skull Kid is the Happy Mask Salesman's conterpart.
-The Giants are counterparts to Twilight Princess' Light Spirits.
-The inside of the Moon is a physical manifestation of Skull Kid's psyche.
-The Stone Tower was built as a defiance to the Goddesses of Hyrule, who the people associated with the despised Skull Kid.
-The Stone Tower was not flipped by divine intervention, and in all actuallity, there was no intervention by the Goddesses whatsoever.
-The Garos brought the Light Arrows with the intention of flipping the Stone Tower.

Oracle of Seasons/Ages
-The games can be played in either order without major effects to the storyling, but Seasons-Ages is the more canon order.
-The Master Sword may or may not be canon; undecided.
-Onox and Veran are Twili.
-Link may or may not be the same Link as featured in Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link.
-Jabu Jabu is a descendent of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
-The linked game and ending are canon.
-The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm at the end of the linked game.
-The "Evil Realm" mentioned refers to the Twilight Realm, and it is "spreading" in the form of darkness over the land, similar to the Twilight Curtain.

Wind Waker
-Prior to Wind Waker, Ganon escaped the Sacred Realm Seal without breaking it.
-Ganon's escape of the Sacred Realm Seal is left unexplained, and will likely never be explained. As Hylian text states, "he was revived for no reason".
-Ganon's escape of the Flood Seal can be explained by Ganon splitting his soul, using the bunshin to kill the two Sages who empower the Master Sword, putting the two parts of his soul back together, and being free to roam, as the Master Sword no longer had the power to seal him.
-The Kokiri, as spirits, did not techincally "evolve", but instead, took on a new form, and became the Koroks.
-Some of the Zoras evolved into Rito, some of them became "fierce Zoras", and others migrated out of Wind Waker's territory to other places, such as Labrynna.
-The plan of the Deku Tree and the Koroks to create more land with their seeds is a legitimate plot element for the rest of the series.
-Daphnes' mention of the "laws of the past" are a reference to Zelda's duty as the Princess to protect the Triforce of Wisdom from evil.
-Daphnes' wish sent the Triforce off to await a new owner.
-Ganon's physical body was destroyed in the ending, but his spirit remained in tact.

Four Swords Adventures
-The Dark Mirror is the Mirror of Twilight, but on a different timeline.
-The Dark World of Four Swords Adventures is not the corrupted Sacred Realm like in A Link to the Past, but instead, the Twilight Curtain.
-The "Moon Gate World" is the prototype of the Twilight Realm.
-Shadow Links are Twili brought forth by the Dark Mirror, and corrupted by Ganon's evil power, manifested physically into a representation of evil: the opposite of Link.
-Ganon's "secondary" title of "Majuu", which means "Demon Beast", is the same as that of Ganon in Twilight Princess, because both of them are exposed to Twilight.
-Ganondorf may be a physical reincarnation of the ancient Gerudo King, but he may also just be an ordinary male Gerudo, with Ganondorf being a traditional Gerudo name.

Minish Cap
-Link's obtaining of the hat is not indication of timeline placement, but an explanation of how this particular Link and his descendants came to wear hats after a time period in which heroes apparently did not wear hats [as evidenced by the depictions of the Hero of Men].
-The "Triumph Forks" book is not a cameo. It is a valid timeline indicator.
-The books entitled with the Japanese names of the Oracle games are not a cameo. They are valid timeline indicators.
-The book entitled "History of Hyrule" is not a cameo, and very well may be the story being referenced in the SNES A Link to the Past manual.
-Din, Nayru, and Farore are not cameos, but direct descendants of those with the same names in the Oracle games, and therefore, valid timeline indicators.
-Vaati dies in the end, and therefore, must have been resurrected for Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures.

Twilight Princess
-The state of the Triforce in Twilight Princess is the result of the Goddesses [being outside of the influence of the split timeline] granting the rightful owners their Triforce pieces regardless of the timeline.
-The sages believe Ganondorf's Triforce of Power acquisition to be a "divine prank" because he never touched the Triforce.
-Ganondorf's "god complex" in Twilight Princess is the result of having a Triforce piece without touching the Triforce combined with surviving an execution attempt.
-Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time.
-Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are mostly due to retcon.
-The Temple of Time is the same one from Ocarina of Time.
-Ganondorf and Zant became soulbound to each other.
-Zants refusal to be revived led to Ganondorf's demise.
-Becuase Silver Arrows were not used, Ganon may still be alive in spirit.
-The state of the Triforce of Power in the ending is unknown.

Phantom Hourglass
-The Realm of the Ocean King is an extension of the Great Sea.
-Similarily to the Wind Fish's ability to create things in a physical world by dreaming, the Ocean King has the power to change/warp a physical things in the physical world to the point of it being nearly another dimension, though dreams are not required.
-The six sages that have graves in Phantom Hourglass are the Sages from Ocarina of Time, barring Zelda.
-The fact that Link and Zelda were only gone for 10 minutes is explained by the fact that Link retains the [now empty] Phantom Hourglass: They were returned to their world and time by the power of the Ocean King and the Phantom Hourglass.
-The islands of Phantom Hourglass, with the help of the Koroks, eventually become the basis of the Hyrule seen in Adventure of Link.

Non-Game Specific Topics

The Fierce, Prolonged Wars
-The bloodshed amongst the people spoken about in A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess are the same set of events.
-These events predate Ocarina of Time.
-Sometime during these wars is when a group of magic wielders [incorrectly called Interlopers by Nintendo of America] rose to power.
-The magic wielders are were made up of members of various tribes, and are not all of the same tribe, nor are they any entire tribe.
-This is when [as stated earlier] the Gossip Stones were used by the Sheikah to spy on various peoples and races.
-The Shadow Temple shows that the Sheikah had ways of dealing with any who were not loyal to the Royal Family.
-The unifying of Hyrule by the King prior to Ocarina of Time marks the end of these wars.
-All of the major tribes except for the Gerudos formed an alliance at this time.

The Adventure of Link Backstory/Manual
-The Adventure of Link manual is still canon, as the newest release of it is the exact same [in the Japanese text] as the very first release.
-"When Hyrule was one country" refers not to the days of Ocarina of Time, but to the time period in between the founding of the New Hyrule and the spreading out of the people into the rest of the "Hyrule region".
-The King had the complete Triforce.
-The Sleeping Zelda incident and the hiding of the Triforce of Courage are in a chronologically close proximity.
-Zelda's title of "first generation/founder" refers to her as being the first Zelda in the New Hyrule.
-The secret that the Princess knew was the location of the Triforce of Courage.
-The writer of the scroll is the King.

The A Link to the Past Manual
-The Nintendo of America SNES manual for A Link to the Past is not canon, as it is overwhelmingly full of mistranslations and censorships.
-The Japanese SNES manual for A Link to the Past is semi-canon, as it is the story off of which Ocarina of Time was based.
-Inaccuracies between the Japanese SNES manual and the actual story of Ocarina of Time can mostly be explained by the fact that in-game we are told these events have become obscured by the mists of time.
-The GBA manual for A Link to the Past is the more canon one, as it places the emphasis back on the Seal, specifies that the Triforce never left the Sacred Realm prior to the Seal War, and removes any indication that the Ganon of A Link to the Past was involved in the Seal War.

The Minish Cap Manual/Backstory
-The Minish Cap backstory does not predate Ocarina of Time.
-The Hero of Men is not Gustaf.
-The Hero of Men is not the Link from Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link.
-The Hero of Men may be Switchblade I, but is more likely a Link we have not seen in any game.
-The Picori Blade is not the Master Sword or any other previously seen sword.
-The Light Force is not a piece of the Triforce.

The Seal/Imprisoning War
-The Seal War cannot happen at a time after the Triforce has left the Sacred Realm.
-The Seal War is the first time evil flowed from the Sacred Realm.
-The Seal War, in its entirety, is the events of the adult side of Ocarina of Time.
-Ganon was removed from the GBA telling of the Seal War, because the Ganon involved in the Seal War [Ocarina of Time Ganon] is no lnoger living.
-Seal War Ganon escaped the Seal [without breaking it] prior to Wind Waker, and then physically died.
-The Ganon we see in-game in A Link to the Past is the result of Four Swords Adventures Ganon [not Seal War Ganon] taking on Seal War Ganon's soul. He is a different physical entity bearing the same spirit.
-Though Four Swords Adventures, and the events which inevitably follow it, set the stage for A Link to the Past, it is in no way part of, or related to, the Seal War.
-All in-game references to Ganon in A Link to the Past are describing the current Ganon, Four Swords Adventures Ganon, and not Seal War Ganon.
-As indicated by the Swamp Maiden, some time in between Four Swords Adventures and A Link to the Past, Ganon entered the Sacred Realm and could not find a way back out. This event is indepent of the Seal War, and takes place long after the Seal War. Ganon could not find a way out, because the Seal still remained in tact.

The Trident
-Though Ganon may have been meant to wield the Trident in Legend of Zelda, he was not soul-bound to it.
-During the Oracles linked ending, Twinrova puts Ganon's soul into the Trident.
-Once it harbors Ganon's soul, the Trident has the power to turn anyone who wields it into The King of Darkness.
-The Four Swords Adventures Trident inscription [in Japanese], "Wielder of the Trident, the evil [ja-ki] of the demon resurrected from ancient times" indicates that the Trident was previously owned by the Ganon from the Oracles.
-While "ja-ki" can mean "device/weapon", it can also mean "vessel", and in light of the Oracle's linked ending, "vessel" appears to be the appropriate translation.
-Four Swords Adventures Ganondorf takes the Trident, takes on Ganon's soul, and becomes The King of Darkness.

Ganon's Title
-Ganon's different titles in the games have significance.
-All of the games in which Ganon bears the Japanese title "Daimaou", or "Great Demon King", must be connected, as that is a specific title which holds certain qualifications.
-Any game featuring Daimaou Ganon must take place during a time when the Sacred Realm, or some other specifically named territory, has become Ganon's "Makai", or "Demon World" [Dark World in the English].
-The games in which Gaon bears the Japanese title "Yami no Maou", or "Demon King of Darkness", are connected, and cannot come inbetween games in which he his called "Daimaou".
-The Oracle games represent a transition phase with the sealing of Daimaou Ganon's spirit in the Trident [see earlier Trident section], and Ganon's proclomation that he is the "Demon King of Darkness".

Force
-There is no real difference in "life force, "force gems", and "the Light Force", as all are the exact same word in Japanese. They are only in different forms, and thus, given different names in the English version.
-Life force is similar to a soul, and everyone has it.
-Force gems are crystalized life force.
-The Light Force is a powerful concentration of life force. Since Minish Cap says it came from the sky, it is quite possibly the life force of the Goddesses.
-As the "essence of the gods", the Triforce is very similar to three powerful force gems.
-Though the Triforce and the Light Force are not the same item, they are likely made of the same substance.
-Tears of Light from Twilight Princess are/function the same as force gems from Four Swords Adventures.

Spinoffs
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is semi-canon as it explains the origins of Tingle and has timeline implications. [see Timeline for further explanation]
-Ancient Stone Tablets is semi-canon, but no longer of any real use. The only issue Ancient Stone Tablets helps resolve is the placement of Link's Awakening, by indicating that its immediate prequel is A Link to the Past. However, the only other game/s that could possibly prequel Link's Awakening is Oracle of Seasons/Ages, and the Oracle games were released after Ancient Stone Tablets. There is no reason to discount Ancient Stone Tablets as noncanon, but there is also no valid/relevant information contained in it.
-BS: Legend of Zelda may be semi-canon in showing director intent for Legend of Zelda Ganon to wield a Trident. Nothing important hinges on the canonity of it though.

Timeline
-Ocarina of Time causes a timeline split, with games coming after both of its endings. These two timelines are called the "Adult Timeline" and the "Child Timeline".
-The time period when Hyrule was "a beautiful land surrounded by forests and mountains" references the age of Ocarina of Time.
-This makes any game with a water and/or island-based Hyrule impossible to place on the Child Timeline.
-Ocarina of Time is the Seal War in its entirety [as stated before].
-The Adventure of Link backstory takes place after Phantom Hourglass and before Legend of Zelda with the discovery of a New Hyrule.
-Minish Cap, Four Swords Adventures, and A Link to the Past show a progression from the watery islands of Hyrule to a single, solid island, via Deku Tree's success.
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, featuring a Hyrule made up of several "continents", indicates Deku Tree's success.
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland's inclusion of places with familiar names [Lon Lon Meadows, Mountain of Death] shows that areas previously only in a "dry" Hyrule can exist post-flood.
-The inclusion of Subrosians in Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, the library books and Oracles of Minish Cap, and the Trident inscription of Four Swords Adventures, all point to an early post-flood placement of the Oracles.
-Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link were always meant to be the immediate prequels to the Oracles, and nothing suggests that has changed.
-The Oracle of Ages past section of the game takes place after Wind Waker, but before Legend of Zelda.
-Link's Awakening was originally intended to be after A Link to the Past, but may possibly also be after the Oracles. Since the whole game was a dream it has no timeline relevance, and as implied by Shigeru Miyamoto, it is neither clear nor important where it belongs.

Erimgard's current timeline:

[Adult]/WW-PH---LoZ-AoL---OoS-OoA--[FPTRR]--MC---FS-FSA---aLttP-LA
OoT<
[Child]\MM---TP

Miscellaneous
-Light Arrows are not the same as Silver Arrows. Light Arrows only have the power to weaken the defenses of evil, Silver Arrows are the only thing that can kill Ganon.
-The Sages [Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess], Shrine Maidens [Four Swords Adventures], and Maidens [A Link to the Past], all perform similar duties, but slowly decreased in power over time, in the order previously stated.
-When referring to Sages and other spiritual leaders, the term "descendant" is not necessarily a blood relation, but a successor.
-Farore is the Goddess of Time.

Re: Personal Views on Points of Controversy II

(Abbreviations: OoT = Ocarina of Time, MM = Majora's Mask, TWW = The Wind Waker, ALTTP = A Link To The Past, Sk = Skull Kid, G = Ganondorf, MS = Master Sword, SR = Sacred Realm, HMS= Happy Mask Salesman, CT = Child Timeline, AT = Adult Timeline, ToC = Triforce of Courage, ToW = Triforce of Wisdom, ToP = Triforce of Power)

Triforce

If a person touches the Triforce with the intention of keeping it, the remaining pieces would go to the other two if the toucher's heart is not in balance. If the heart is in balance, or if that person acquires the other two pieces, he will gain the True Force. Nobody gained this True Force in OoT, TWW, or ALTTP. The True Force is the ultimate power, it is greater than anything in the zelda universe.

In TWW, Daphnes only wanted his wish(es) granted, but he did not want to keep any part of the Triforce, so all three pieces split and went elsewhere (away from Zelda, Daphnes, Ganondorf, Link).

In ALTTP, Ganon didn't have the intention to keep any part of the Triforce. Among other things, he could have wished for it to remain in the SR as well, to be smart. That way, his wish would be granted without it having to split afterwards and fly somewhere else.

The Triforce does not split instantaneously upon first contact.

It is possible that Ganondorf had his wish granted in OoT.

MM - You have the same smell as the fairy kid...

1. In the CT, before the events of MM, Link and Skullkid never properly met. They may have seen each other but that is all. If they had actually talked to each other beforehand, that means they had to become friends first. They can only become friends if Link plays Saria's Song to him. In the gameplay of OoT, after Link plays Saria's Song to him, Skullkid said they should be friends. It is after this event that Skullkid starts talking to you regularly, noting things like his face is just plain, he wants it to look unusual, etc. In the end of MM, Skullkid asked for Link's friendship. Therefore, Link never played Saria's Song to Skullkid before MM, so they were never friends.

2. In the end of MM, when Skullkid said that Link has the same smell as the forest kid who taught him that song in the woods, Skullkid is referring to Saria. The forest kid is not Link. Keep in mind that Skullkid remembers the song and the person who taught it to him. Hypothetically, if Link was the forest kid, Skullkid would have said "you are the forest kid who taught me that song in the woods." Skullkid didn't lose his memory or anything like that because he clearly remembers the event of learning the song in the past. Skullkid only smells Link because there is something he detects about this person he has never met before.

3. Saria's Song is referenced in MM. The idea of "MM would have showed Saria if the forest kid was her" thing is not true. The song is played at the end of the game. It is also played at 10:41 in this segment here: MM 1st 3-day Cycle (TAS) Therefore, this OoT song represents friendship and fun in MM.

4. There are a ton of songs in OoT and MM. Skull Kid could have been talking about any one of these songs, not necessarily Saria's. There are also songs that Link doesn't even know. The two Lost Woods stump kids who ask Link to "Follow along with our song on your Ocarina. We'll lead you into it" have plenty of songs at their disposal. The OoT gameplay portion of Link playing Saria's Song to the Skull Kid on the Lost Woods stump may not have occurred again after Link returned to the CT in the end of OoT. Therefore, the Skull Kid in MM may not be the same one as him. And if the Skull Kids aren't the same, then a fairy kid other than Saria could have taught the MM Skull Kid a song that isn't Saria's Song.

5. Concerning OoT Only : Skull kid knew Saria's Song even before Link learned it himself. The three Skull kids in the Lost Woods know a ton of songs, and more importantly, they know how to play them with their own flutes. The songs they know go up to at least 8 notes, and some of the notes don't have a repeated pattern. Saria's Song has 6 notes comprising of a repeated pattern of the first 3. Upon first playing Zelda's Lullaby to the lone Skull Kid instead of Saria's Song, he reacts with "That's not quite Saria's Song...". Upon playing Saria's Song to him, he reacts with "You know Saria's Song! We should be friends!". He knows what Saria's Song sounds like, and because he has a flute, he knows how to play it too. The song is much easier to learn and play compared to the other random longer songs. The three Skull kids in OoT are all friends. If one of them receives the Skull Mask, the other two start wearing it as soon as possible because the first Skull kid says "My buddies really want this mask" once he receives his. Also, it is likely that if one of them knows a random song, the other two know it as well. One of the random songs actually begins with the first three notes of Saria's Song in the "follow our notes" game of the two Skull Kids. Even if Saria didn't teach her song to those two, they could have figured out how her song went just by listening to it, especially since Mido also said that Saria plays that song all the time. The meaning of the lone Skull Kid's reaction to hearing Link play Saria's Song is as follows: Link and Skull kid don't know each other, they never officially met. Skull Kid learned Saria's Song from Saria, and Link learned Saria's Song from Saria. According to Mido, Saria teaches her song only to her friends. Teaching a song means the other person will learn how to play it. To Skull kid, Link playing Saria's Song to him indicates that Link is Saria's friend too. And because these two people are friends with Saria, Skull kid decides that they should become friends with each other as well.

MM - Sk and the Ocarina of Time:

SK kept an Ocarina of Time throughout the whole game. He saw the other Ocarina of Time in Link's posession at the top of Clock Tower. This caused him to react differently, as noted in the first moments of Link's final encounter with him on top of Clock Tower. He simply hid the ocarina seeing as how it is not an issue for Link anymore.

MM - Time Travel:

If programming can be used as an excuse, then MM Time Travel simply consists of Link sending himself back in time to 3 days before the moon would hit Termina. If not, then here is an explanation for how it all works: Link made Mikau's grave in a cutscene, not gameplay. We only listened to Mikau and played the song of healing. Mikau's grave stays in Termina permanently. Therefore Link doesn't travel back in time to 3 days before the moon would fall, and he doesn't enter new parallel termina timelines either. A solution to this problem is: There are two Termina dimensions, each has one Link. When Link is tumbling down the rabbit hole, a copy of that dimension is automatically created. Another Link is in that copy doing (or rather copying) everything that the original Link is doing in the first Termina dimension. This is the most important point: The beginning of this Termina copy has the moon set at 6 days before it will hit the earth. So after Link plays the Song of Time, the first Link will be rewinded to the beginning of the first Termina, and the second Link to the beginning of the second Termina. There will always be one Link in one Termina and a copy of Link in the copy of Termina, until we meet Mikau. Link then makes his grave. Finally, if he plays the Song of Time, this first Link will actually be sent to the middle point of the second Termina, which is set at exactly 3 days before the moon hits earth. Then, starting at the "first day", if he plays the Song of Time from then on, he will always be rewinded to the same middle point of this Termina copy. The second Link and the first Termina dimension disappear for good.

OoT - The AT - Ganon's Final Destination:

Quote:
Ancient Creators of Hyrule!
Now, open the sealed door
and send the Evil Incarnation of
Darkness into the void of the
Evil Realm!!
The Sealed Door is in the center of the Chamber of the Sages, as seen in the ending sequences of the game. The MS, being the key to the SR, takes Link to the center of the Chamber and seals him there for seven years.

Quote:
Therefore, your spirit was
sealed here for seven years.
That is what Rauru tells Link after he first wakes up in the Chamber. This entrance allowed G to grab the Triforce from another room in the Temple of Light. Near the end of the game, the sages sent Ganon from Hyrule to the Chamber to a place outside of the Temple of Light. Rauru is staying in the Temple of Light while the others are in Hyrule flying above the Lon Lon Ranch Party. Here is a recap of the geography: Inside the center of the SR lies the Temple of Light, Inside the Temple of Light lies the Chamber of the Sages, Inside the center of the Chamber lies the entrance between realms (Hyrule and SR) through the MS/Sealed Door.

OoT - Child Sheik:

Zelda became Sheik right after she fled Hyrule Castle and threw her ocarina to Link. She had to go in disguise immediately. Ganondorf has followers: Gerudos, twinrova, other enemies. If zelda was hiding anywhere in hyrule in her princess form, Ganondorf would have been notified. Ganondorf is looking for Zelda once he returns from the SR with the ToP in his hand.

Quote:
I passed myself off as a Sheikah
and hoped that you would return.
I waited for seven years...
Quote:
Princess Zelda...you foolish
traitor!
I commend you for avoiding my
pursuit for seven long years.
OoT - How to Close the Door of Time:

After Zelda sends him back in time, we see Link walk out of the room, but we don't see him actually close the Door of Time. Because the MS is now in its resting place, the gateway for the SR remains closed. Only Link can lift the MS from its pedestal, which doesn't happen until TP. Before all of this, Zelda told Link to "lay the MS to rest and close the Door of Time". If Link did close the Door of Time in the end of the game, well it can be assumed that he just happened to close it somehow. I say this, because looking at the mechanics of the door, it can only be opened by the Song of Time and the three spiritual stones. Also, when Link first opens the door, the door splits sideways and basically sinks into the wall, giving the appearance that it can not be dragged out of there by hand. The same can be said for how the Door of Time opened in the first place if Link didn't do it when he returned in the end of the game. Since Adult Zelda from the AT sent him back, she used her powers to open it so he can get out. Now how did Link close it? If the ocarina has to be used, and if the Song of Time can open the door, then maybe the Inverted Song of Time can close it.

OoT - Sages and the Master Sword:

In OoT, the MS is missing from the Pedestal in the future. This means the Sages can see Link in Hyrule and talk to him, aid him. In the past, the MS remains in the Pedestal so the Sages can't see anything outside of the SR. Link can communicate with Saria in both the future and the past with the OoT. Think of it as a door between two rooms. The SR is in the room on one side of the door, and Hyrule is on the other. If the door is open (MS is missing from the Pedestal), then the Sages who are staying in the SR can see anybody in Hyrule and talk/shout to them from any distance. If the door is closed (MS is in its Pedestal), they can't see anything on the other side. Now it is still possible to hear people on the other side and talk to them without vision, but think of my situation as a magical door where neither of these are exceptions are possible. Saria and Link have a cell phone (they both have an ocarina), so even if the door is closed they can still call each other and talk. The Door of Time was most likely still open in the future even after Ganon was sealed in the SR because we see the Sages soar to the summit of Death Mountain. In the end of OoT in the final CT, the MS is resting and the Door of Time is open. Whether Link closed the Door of Time in the past is irrelevant. Because the MS remains in the Pedestal, the Sages are prohibited from seeing anything in Hyrule. The goddesses still made the ToC fly to Link, they are not bound by the restriction of the MS gate. However, the Sages only saw the Triforce split into 3 and fly out of the SR right out of their sight. They didn't see where the pieces ended up.

OoT - Ruto's Message in the Bottle:

Ruto wrote the Message. She did not want a Zora to help her find the Engagement Ring, because then the King would find out. Ruto's first reactions to Link confirm this. The first thing Link told her was that the King sent him. That is why she denied everything in that conversation from then on. As soon as Link steps out of Kokiri Forest for the first time, he can go straight to Lake Hylia and see the bottle sitting down there. G could not have written this message to lure Link since they never met in Hyrule Castle yet. And only Royal Family members or associates such as Link and G can even enter Zora's Domain.

The only other entrance to Zora's Domain is from Lake Hylia's portal, which is at least 5 meters deep. Only a Zora posesses the Silver Scale. Nobody can dive 5 meters without it, not even an Adult. If Child Link has the silver scale and can dive up to 6 meters and Adult Link has the silver scale and is still only allowed to dive 6 meters, then growing up has no effect in this game. Adult Link still needs the Gold Scale to dive 8 meters. Like most items, only one Silver Scale exists. The only multiple items are the obvious ones: Deku Seeds, Deku Nuts, Bombs, Arrows, Magic Beans, Bombchu, and Store Items.

OoT - Prophetic Dreams:

Link and Zelda had prophetic dreams. They received their Triforce pieces because of destiny. Based on this, is it possible that G had some prophetic dreams of his own? If so, then the events in this game would have turned out much differently, depending on what dreams he had. G wouldn't have stormed the castle in the CT in order to gain the Ocarina, G would have wrote the bottled Ruto message, etc. It would make more sense to list dreams that don't actually conflict with what already happened in OoT. Also, these particular prophetic dreams contain all three destined people. Link forsaw G chasing Zelda on horseback. Zelda forsaw Link (ray of light) "defeating" G (dark clouds). So respectively, G must have seen Zelda and Link in his dreams. With that in mind, here is G's Prophetic Dream List:

1. He saw them "plotting against him", like what they did in the Hyrule Castle Courtyard.
2. He saw them meeting each other as Adults.
3. Some random imagery similar to Princess Zelda's Prophecy.

He couldn't have forseen the triforce split. If he had, he would've seen them go to Link and Zelda. This contradicts his Ganon's Tower conversation of him saying he didn't expect the pieces to be hidden with those two.

OoT - The AT - Zelda's Last Message:

Quote:
Link,
give the Ocarina to me...
As a Sage, I can return you
to your original time with it.
First, I believe Zelda and Link are standing in the sky in Hyrule, not the SR. It takes a new triforce owner to change the realm, which no one has done yet in OoT. So at this point in time in the AT, the SR is still evil.

Concerning the actual message: Zelda was the one who sent Link back in time in the end of the game, not the MS. The only reason why she has the power to send Link back in time is because she is a Sage. This is also backed by the fact that she plays Zelda's Lullaby to send him back, which is a song that has a much less powerful effect if Link or a non-Sage plays it. From her quote, it is pretty clear that she didn't just transport him to the AT's Temple of Time.

The MS did not stay with Link as Zelda was sending him back in time, it remained in the AT.

Here are Zelda's most important statements:

Quote:
All the tragedy that has befallen
Hyrule was my doing...
I was so young...
I could not
comprehend the consequences of
trying to control the Sacred Realm.
I dragged you into it, too.
Now it is time for me to make up
for my mistakes...

You must lay the Master Sword to
rest and close the Door of Time...

However, by doing this, the road
between times will be closed...

Link,
give the Ocarina to me...
As a Sage, I can return you
to your original time with it.
An interpretation that fits with her statements is: She told him to the leave the Master Sword alone and close the Door of Time; She used her power as a sage to send Link back in time. She sent him back to before he first met her child self in order to make up for the biggest mistake she made back then. He walked out of the Pedestal room, thereby accomplishing the "laying the MS to rest" aka "leaving it alone" aka "don't touch it" statement, and closed the Door of Time.

OoT - The Mask Sidequest is Canon

Nintendo makes mistakes, which include

1. The beginning of TWW Triforce cutscene where the mark is not on Link's hand yet it is on Ganondorf's as he was punching him.

2. In the same scene, the mark is on Zelda's hand even after the Triforce left her.

3. The MM Skull kid's retarded sentence "you have the same smell as the fairy kid who taught me that song in the woods." It is possible Nintendo intended to connect Skull Kid, Link, and Saria's Song. Unfortunately, the way they structured it just doesn't make any sense. All they would have to do is fix that sentence to "you're the one who taught me that song, etc" if that was their intention all along. Because right now it looks like he is saying: "you have the same smell as Link, the fairy boy, who taught me Saria's Song in the Lost Woods. Even though I remember the song and the person who taught it to me, which is you, I am not acknowledging that you are the same boy who taught me that song. Instead, I'm just saying you have the same smell as him, even though that was you all along!"

Well anyway, the OoT ending cutscene of the AT Lon Lon Ranch party shows the CT Running Man. This is the mistake. If you sell him the hood, he wears it and runs around like he did in the CT Hyrule Field. If you don't, he jogs just as slow as he did in the CT field. It is supposed to show the AT Running Man in the AT world, who at least jogs a lot faster as witnessed at the Lost Woods Bridge after the race ends. And I changed my mind about the possibility that he just didn't feel like running fast. If Child Link talks to him when he is not wearing the Bunny Hood, he talks about rabbits, not about races or challengers.

If you sell him the Bunny Hood, why isn't he wearing it in the AT Gerudo Valley Tent? That's part of the mistake too. The party shows him with the hood, but the Gerudo Valley tent doesn't.

The Bunny Hood is similar to the Song of Storms Fiasco. The AT Windmill Man saw Link play the song and drain the well even though we haven't done it in the CT yet. He is already crazy in the AT. If we go back in time and play the song to the CT windmill man, the CT well will be drained and we know that eventually he will become crazy. However, even if we don't do this in the CT, the AT windmill man will still be crazy and the AT well will still be drained.

So ultimately the running man in the AT ending party is not canon and can be disregarded. Now to sum up what is canon, the running man in the AT gerudo valley tent is already a fast runner. He does not wear a bunny hood even if you sold it to him in the past. Therefore, the AT running man still has the Bunny Hood even if we didn't sell it to him in the CT. It is Nintendo's mistake that he doesn't wear it in the AT. This also assumes that the Bunny Hood is what makes him a fast runner, it isn't a result of him jogging/running without it for seven years.

Quote:
I bet nobody is faster than I am
now! But, I don't know if I
should be happy or sad....
In the CT, that is what he says when you talk to him after he starts wearing the Bunny Hood. This proves that the Bunny Hood makes the runner faster, which ties in to the game MM where the Bunny Hood makes Link faster. As a result of wearing this, he can now beat any challenger in Hyrule, which is exactly what he does for the next few days/months/years as mentioned in his AT speech.

The Mask Sidequest in OoT being Canon is one of the many reasons why Link was returned to before he met Zelda. In MM, the Happy Mask Salesman introduces himself to Link, he never met Link before. In OoT, it is clear that Link and HMS know each other once the CT Trading Sequence begins. The shield being variable in the ending CT Temple of Time cutscene shows that it is not canon, which is similar to the situation of the Running Man in the AT ending party. On a side note, the Golden Gauntlets are missing in the ending cutscenes of the game, showing that it is a result of a programming mistake on Nintendo's part. And here is a note on the Goron Bracelet in the last CT Temple of Time scene : If he doesn't have the bracelet on him, then in theory it would have physically indicated to gamers that he was returned to before he played Saria's Song to Darunia. If he has it on him, then it is a programming error. That's right. The goron bracelet is meaningless. It can still be on Link and yet it wouldn't change a thing about his return point in the end of OoT because there is no way he could have been returned to after lifting the MS. The missing Goron Bracelet is similar to the missing Golden Gauntlets situation. The last cutscene of Zelda's reaction takes this a step further and lets us know that he was returned to before they met. Since the shield is not canon in the last two cutscenes, Link's return time can now be pinpointed: He was specifically returned to after he got the Kokiri Sword but before he bought a Deku Shield, which occurred before he met the Great Deku Tree.

The Happy Mask Salesman in OoT & MM

Quote:
Happy Mask Shop
Please read this sign before you
use this shop.
How This Shop Works
We do not sell masks at this shop.
We just lend them to you.
You sell the loaned masks on your
own.
You pay back the money for the
mask, and we will lend you a
newer model.
You can borrow masks you have
already sold again; however, you
can sell each model of mask only
once.
Please try our shop!
--Happy Mask Shop Owner
HMS owns this shop, but he is not lending his masks just yet. The whole business and him just sitting there begins after Link shows Zelda's Signature to the Kakariko Village guard. Keep in mind, this occurs after Link meets Zelda. The following MM quote fits with this information.

Quote:
I own the Happy Mask Shop.
I travel far and wide in search of
masks...

During my travels, a very
important mask was stolen from
me by an imp in the woods.

So here I am at a loss...
And now I've found you.

Now don't think me rude, but I
have been following you...

...For I know of a way to return
you to your former self.

If you can get back the precious
item that was stolen from you,
I will return you to normal.

In exchange...

All I ask is that you also get
back my precious mask that the
imp stole from me.

What?
Is it not a simple task?

Why, to someone like you,
it should by no means be a
difficult task.
Once he starts lending masks, he does not leave his shop. MM is the game where HMS officially meets Link for the first time. This fits with the end of the game OoT where Link was returned to before he met Zelda. The HMS started lending his masks after Link met Zelda. Once MM gets stolen, he would not go back to his shop and open business again by sitting there, that mask is too dangerous to be left in the hands of Sk. The HMS constantly waited for someone to show up, he had to be outside of his shop in order to spot Link in Hyrule. Remember, HMS never met Link after his final return to the CT in the end of OoT. If Link had went in the Happy Mask Shop, the HMS would have known that Link knew he was the owner. And he doesn't have to talk to Link to figure that out either.

The travels that he spoke of occurred before Link left Hyrule to search for Navi, the HMS never came to his shop to start lending his masks. This means that in the gameplay of OoT, the HMS already has MM in his possession.

In the OoT ending, HMS does not have a huge backpack on him in the Lon Lon Ranch Party. In MM, that backpack is on him all the time. His backpack seems to be something that he will always keep with him since it has potentially dangerous or important masks inside. In the gameplay of OoT, in his Happy Mask Shop, his backpack does not need to be on him since both he and it are behind the counter, he can always keep an eye on it.

But if all of this is true, where is his backpack in the AT? His masks got destroyed by Ganondorf and company. The evil does not leave MM until Link does something about it in the game. Since MM is in the backpack, and if Ganondorf can destroy MM even if it still has the evil inside, then that means Ganondorf is more powerful than MM. MM's evil takes more of an effect after someone starts wearing it, but it does have the luring power that put a bad feeling in HMS and later caused Sk to wear it.

The Happy Mask Shop is not reserved for Link or kids. Even adults want masks, such as the Kakariko Village Gate Soldier and the Marathon Runner. The Fisherman in the Fishing Pond is the only one who tells Link that he is his only customer. However, the HMS doesn't know who wants his masks. If he personally went around finding out what people wanted then he wouldn't need a shop in the first place. The reason why he sets up a shop is to have helpers like Link and other customers tell him what masks they want. There is no Happy Mask Shop in the AT. HMS doesnt have a shop because he doesnt have any masks to lend. He is most concerned about making people happy, and what better time to look for happiness than during Ganondorf's new rule.

Quote:
We moved here from the castle
town. I know times are tough, but
I hope you will be a steady
customer for us!
Quote:
Since Ganondorf came, people in
the Castle Town have gone, places
have been ruined, and monsters
are wandering everywhere.
After G returned to Hyrule from the SR, he and/or his minions destroyed the Happy Mask Shop and all of HMS's masks as well.

OoT - How Link received the Triforce of Courage

Link received the CT Triforce piece because: The goddesses determined that it is rightfully his. He owned the AT's ToC but since he departed from the AT in the end, that ToC automatically left him. It shattered into 8 pieces. After arriving in the CT, Link does not have a ToC anymore. So the goddesses gave him the CT's ToC because neither he nor anyone else has done anything to purposely remove it by the natural methods, which include inflicting weakness and voluntarily giving a piece to someone else. Travelling back in time doesn't count. This is why Link deserves to own a ToC. As a result of this, the mark now serves as proof for his adventure. Thus, Zelda will believe him. Impa knows the story of the mark appearing on the back of the hand. However, if they made one piece go to Link, they were forced to make the other two go to Zelda and Ganondorf as the three were already destined to own a piece anyway. It was definetely given to them in seclusion, without their knowledge. Perhaps the function of the mark appearing on the back of a hand was different in their cases now. They simply didn't know they had it unless it activates unwillingly or resonates if near another triforce owner. Unfortunately, G's piece had to activate when he reached near death in the TP execution scene.

A Note about the MS in TWW

Here is a quote from TWW:

Quote:
You got the Master Sword!

The legendary blade with the power
to repel evil...once wielded by the
legendary hero himself
!
Since it is the same blade, then that means the MS was taken away from Link in the sky as Zelda was sending him back in time in the end of OoT.

In the final OoT Temple of Time cutscene, the blue glow is surrounding Link as he is standing still. Only when the glow disappears does he regain consciousness again, as noted by him looking at himself in awe. So even if he hypothetically had a MS with his child self at that time, he could not place it in the pedestal while the blue glow was surrounding him since he was frozen the entire time. His inability to move is also true in the scene when he gets warped from the Chamber of the Sages to the Temple of Time in the AT right after he woke up and met Rauru. So after he finishes his time travel or transportation descent, Link can't voluntarily move in a blue warp until it disappears.

OoT - Time Travel

In the gameplay, Link does not travel back and forward through time to exactly seven years. For example, he doesn't go from 12 pm in the past to 12 pm in the future. Instead, his time travel due to the MS takes him to the point in time to when he was last there in the past or future. The proof is in the gossip stones. Here is the timeline viewed from an outside perspective:

Past

3:00 lift sword, sword and link gone; 3:00 sword and link appear (return from future);

9:00 lift sword, sword and link gone

Future

12:00 sword and link appear (arrive from past the 1st time); 5:00 link gone, sword stays;

5:00 link appears, sword is out of Pedestal in his hands (arrive from past again)

From his POV, Link's actual time travel path is: Past 3:00 -> Future 12:00 -> Future 5:00 -> Past 3:00 -> Past 9:00 -> Future 5:00

Link only arrives in the Chamber the first time he lifted the MS. Every time Link lifted the MS again from the past, he travels straight to the Pedestal in the future. And every time he puts the MS down, he travels straight to the Pedestal in the past. Time warp. Right after he lifts the sword or puts it down, his body stays still in a position and doesn't move again until the time travel is complete and the blue glow goes away. This is different than when Link first lifted the MS, awoke in the Chamber of Sages with the MS in his sheath on his back, and got transported to the Temple of Time. In that scene he is standing still in the temple until the glow goes away, then he is able to move, looks around the room (thinking "where am I") but not at himself (thinking "I know I'm an adult"). In the last CT Temple of Time scene, right after the glow disappears, Link looks at himself for a long time (thinking "I'm a child again due to Zelda, not the MS") but not at the room around him (thinking "I already know I'm in the Temple of Time").

It wouldn't make sense for Child Link to put his MS down into the Pedestal, stand there for a few seconds, and then look at himself in awe.

Average Gamer is right. He can't be rewinded to a point after he lifted the MS because he and the MS were never in the past at that time. Child Link can never be in the past with the MS in his posession. Child Link can only be in the past while the MS is in the Pedestal.

Zelda uses a time warp that rewinds time for Link to send him back to before he pulled the Master Sword. It's like rewinding a video tape. Here is how he can end up in the Temple of Time:

The SR can only be accessed if the MS is not in its Pedestal. Link is the only one who can lift the MS from its Pedestal. The MS is never in its Pedestal in the AT, which allows the Sages to open the Sealed Door from within the Chamber of Sages at the end of the battle with Ganon. The MS is already in its Pedestal in the last CT Temple of Time scene. Link did not go to the SR after Zelda sent him back in the end of the game.

After he first met Rauru, Link got transported from the Chamber of Sages to the AT Temple of Time. After Link helped seal Ganon, Zelda sent him back in time to the CT Temple of Time. Blue glows in the Temple of Time surround Link in both cutscenes. There is a difference between the AT Temple of Time glow and the CT Temple of Time glow, but if one was to assume they are the same because of their similar qualities, and would like to know why the blue glow shown in the beginning of the warp that Zelda creates in the AT doesn't match the glow shown in the CT Temple of Time, then read on:

1. No matter where Link comes from, no matter if he travels back in time to the temple or simply transports to the temple, there will always be a specific temple of time blue glow.

2. And finally, Nintendo makes mistakes. Considering all the hard evidence, even if it really is the "Sacred Realm Glow" that appears in the CT Temple of Time in the end of the game, then it was a result of an animated mistake on Nintendo's part.

The Link between the SK and HMS

Sk and HMS are counterparts, judging by the 4 kids inside the moon.

The 4 kids look like the HMS and they talk like him and Sk too.

The MM cutscene with Sk mugging HMS takes place in the Hyrule Lost Woods as it looks similar to the woods Link is in in the beginning and ending of that game. If the boy became a Sk by getting lost in Hyrule's Lost Woods, then I think the boy was from Hyrule as I am not sure a boy from Termina would make his way up to Hyrule. And Termina is loaded with masks, HMS most likely got his masks and/or knowledge of masks from there. This means that Sk is from Hyrule and HMS is from Termina.

The Rest of the CT

Within the link are a few paragraphs that support some of my theories: CT Interpretations

MM - The Moon

Inside the moon, Majora is being destroyed, the room that he is in is turning colors. The moon is then being destroyed from the inside due to the colorful light (resulting from a merge of Majora's light with the colorful room light) that is rising from within, showcased by the top of the moon losing its parts before the ascending light breaks right through it. The light then surrounds the moon. Keep in mind that a portion of the top of this light is offscreen. The light shrinks width wise, and the moon inside it shrinks as well. The bottom of the light starts rising. After it rises above a certain point, a silver light appears right below it. As the colorful light is rising even further, the silver one is revealing itself more. This silver is arching as it is being revealed. The colorful light finally shrinks to the shape of an arch right above the silver arch. The screen cuts away for a moment, but when it returns, a colorful rainbow appears in the same arch as the silver arch. The arch now consists of a silver beginning, and a rainbow middle/ending. The silver part is in existance for a small portion of the sky, yet the colorful rainbow part streaks across the sky beyond.

Therefore, the moon was destroyed and became the rainbow.

The sun is already up. In OoT, the moon and sun are in opposite locations, as noted when the sun sets/moon rises and the moon sets/sun rises. In this game, the same situation is applied for the sun at least. However, the moon that everyone sees in Termina is not the real moon. It is a real object of destruction no doubt, but it is not the moon that originally belongs to this world.

Quote:
Each year, the season of harmony
begins when the sun and moon
are in alignment.
Paying homage to the way that
both nature and time are
tirelessly in the process of
progressing...
the Carnival of Time is when the
peoples of the four worlds
celebrate that harmony and
request fruitfulness for the year.
The reason why it isn't the real moon is because it is supposed to go in alignment with the sun at Carnival Time, not fly away upwards or fly by rainbow to some place else. Besides, how can the people tell if the moon and sun are in alignment if they can't see it for themselves? That's why I believe the alignment itself is either a lunar or solar eclipse.

[In the ending cutscenes of this game, the rainbow is seen over Great Bay Coast.

The rainbow's direction is north/south. The sun is rising from the (s)east. In the gameplay, the sun sets in the (n)west. This is the exact pattern of OoT's sun.]

The majority of the games can be in the CT

Link has the ToC with him, he can tell Zelda everything he went through, including who the seven sages were in the future. If Link is a legend in the CT for his deeds in the AT, then the seven people can be honored in the CT for their deeds in Link's Adventures of the AT.

Volcanoes can cause lands to break away from the mainland too. Perhaps some time after TP (in an upcoming Zelda game), this is what will happen.

OoT is not the IW despite the developer quotes because there is enough in game evidence to disprove them.

Link is known as a legend in the CT

HMS knows who Link is:

Quote:
Why, to someone like you,
it should by no means be a
difficult task.
Let's say the HMS never saw or heard about Link before. There is nothing in the beginning of the MM Hyrule Lost Woods scene that indicates to the HMS that some kid is able to get his ocarina and a dangerous powerful mask back. HMS is aware of Link's adventure through time and thinks he can accomplish this feat, he has a lot of faith in him. Link grabbing and holding onto a small horse (epona) as Skull kid is riding away does not count as an exception, very little can be judged from that part. HMS got mugged in the Hyrule Lost Woods, and eventually he went searching for someone who could get his mask back, his search ended at Hyrule Castle where a new legend emerged.

Quote:
In the land of Hyrule, there
echoes a legend. A legend held
dearly by the Royal Family that
tells of a boy...

A boy who,
after battling evil and saving
Hyrule, crept away from the land
that had made him a legend
...
He became a legend after his return from the future. Link tells Zelda/royal family what happened, the royal family informs Hyrule, Link becomes a legend.

http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...8-post113.html

OoT Link became the Hero's Shade. He figured out how to turn into a wolf. Zelda turns into Sheik, Ganondorf turns into Ganon, Link turns into a Wolf, all 3 used their triforce pieces. He had to join the sheikah in order to make the stones in TP.

A Reminder on the Usage of the Triforce

If an unbalanced person touches the triforce in order to simply get his wishes granted, without having any intention to keep one or all its parts in order to use it for something besides making wishes, then the triforce will remain in its resting place in the Sacred Realm and grant his wishes. On the other hand, if a person wants to keep the triforce (which will give him the True Force), he has to have a balanced heart, otherwise it will split and he will only keep one piece. He can still gain the True Force if he recovers the other two pieces. After the pieces come together again, he only has to touch the triforce once more to actually gain this True Force. This power is far greater than anything in the world. Anyone who has the True Force will be unstoppable, he will have the true power of the gods in his hands.

the attacks of evil monsters.
I heard that the Knights Of
Hyrule were nearly wiped out in
that battle...
You are perhaps the last one
to carry on the blood-line of
the Knights...
It is ironic that the last one in
the line has the potential to
become the Hero of legend.

They say the Hylia people
controlled mysterious powers,
as did the seven wise men.
But the blood of the Hylia has
become thin over time. We who
carry the blood of the seven
wise men do not possess strong
power any more, either.
Our powers will increase if we
mix the courage of the Knights
with the wisdom of the wise
men. Only a short time remains
until the gate at the castle
linking the worlds opens
completely. If you defeat
Ganon, this world will vanish
and the Triforce will wait for
a new holder.
I believe in you...

Ganon captured us because he
couldn't break the seal of the
wise men with his power alone.
And then, using the wizard
Agahnim as his pawn, he drew us
to the Dark World.
After cracking the seal with
our powers, he sealed us inside
of these crystals.
He then gave us to his loyal
monsters.

Ganon is waiting inside of his
tower to pass through the
gate linking the two worlds.
Once Ganon enters the Light
World, it is unlikely that
anyone can stop him.
But if he stays in the closed
space of this world, you can
find him wherever he runs.

Ho ho ho... With this, the

It is now only a matter of time

After all, the legendary Hero

evil, when we are armed with
the Power of Gold.

Grrrrugh! Well met! Like the
true Hero that you are...
But I am not ready to admit
defeat yet. I will draw you
into the Dark World!

Ho ho ho! It's great that you

I'm very happy to see you
again, but
you'd better believe that we

Long ago, in Hyrule, a beautiful

legends told of an omnipotent

Hoping to claim the Golden
Power as their own, the people
began to quarrel and fight...
Many sought to enter the
hidden Golden Land...
But none returned, and instead
evil power began to issue
forth from the dark portal...
So the king commanded seven
sages to seal the gate to
the land of the Golden Power.
Many brave knights were lost
in the battle to protect the
sages from the tides of evil,
but the seal was cast! Evil
flowed no more! And the seal

Or so the people hoped...
But when these events were
obscured by the mists of

A mysterious wizard known as

and with strange magic powers
he eliminated the good king of

He cast spells on the soldiers

ALTTP SNES Manual/Backstory: Ganon is stuck in the dark world/golden land and does not have enough power to conquer the light world yet. He has to build his power in the dark world in order to accomplish this. Agahnim is already crazy, or he is a wizard who suddenly turned crazy. He just wants access to the Dark World and possibly gain favor with Ganon and/or betray him eventually to take the triforce for his own. He opened the gate between the dark world and the light world after he sent zelda to the dark world. He wants to weaken the light world in addition to help Ganon build his power in the dark world to make the process of ruling both worlds easier. Ganon was the only one who got sealed in the dark world long ago. Ganon got sealed while his followers were still fighting in the war.

Agahnim can send people to the dark world with his magic. Ganon can't do this. Ganon can't travel between worlds unless the seal is broken and a gate gets large enough. With magic, Agahnim can send himself to both worlds. This is supported by him bringing link with him as he teleported to the dark world.

Why are there Agahnim statues at the dark world pyramid? They were made when he first arrived in the dark world (way before link did) to show off his accomplishment, since no one has managed to enter the dark world in a long time, so Ganon allowed it/didn't care. Ganon never possessed Agahnim. Remember, zelda said Ganon is waiting in his dark tower, not agahnim. Another maiden said Ganon is using agahnim as his pawn. There is no proof that Ganon can soul split, but there is proof that Agahnim can. Ganon and Agahnim are different people. In the second Agahnim fight, Ganon was in that room the entire time, but he was invisible. This is supported by the second half of link's fight with ganon where he remained invisible until some torches were lit. When link defeats agahnim the seond time, ganon reveals himself in semi-invisible mode (one torch lit according to the ganon fight) and rises.

Quote:
To think that you drove off, twice, my other self, the dark priest Aghanim...
Suppose Ganon went back to the Triforce to make a wish to break the seal. Whether it was vague or specific, the expression of that wish is only as powerful as how strong the wish is in the first place. This wish creates Agahnim. Ganon does not perform a soul split, or create multiple anythings. Otherwise, why didn't he do this in the Link vs Ganon fight? It would greatly increase his chance at killing Link if there was more than one Ganon present. So after Ganon made his seal-breaking wish, the Triforce responded by telling him that his other self, [a different version of Ganon(dorf)], was now created in the Light World, and he will break the seal. Except, Ganon specifically said to break the seal of the seven [wise men/sages], or mentioned the seven ones in some context. That's why the Triforce would create someone who had to capture the seven descendants, instead of create someone who could directly break the seal himself. All of this assumes that a person has the ability to go back to the Triforce and make another wish after he has done so already, but this may not be true either.

Also, alterego/other self does not have to mean a literal copy of a person, nor does it have to mean that one person has two selves. A person completely unrelated to another can be referred to as his alterego because of their qualities (similar and/or different). A man can create all of the ideas necessary to execute some task, but another person can have both the understanding of these ideas and the physical capabilities to actually pull it off. The physical one is the thinker's alterego.

In ALTTP, Ganon never took over Hyrule. In OoT, Ganondorf ruled Hyrule for seven years.

In the AT ending of OoT, Ganon(dorf) is dumped outside of the Temple of Light. Zelda placed the Master Sword into the Pedestal to permanently "lock" the door between realms.

ALTTP GBA Manual/Backstory: It says the triforce is hidden in the golden land, so even if someone entered the land they would have to continue looking for the hidden triforce. Because this gate from Hyrule to the Golden Land is now open, people started entering the land to look for the triforce. These people did not return to hyrule, but instead, evil beings emerged from the golden land. This doesn't fit with OoT at all because the gate from Hyrule to the Golden Land is the Master Sword, which takes a person to the Chamber of Sages. The chamber is already in the temple of light. The triforce is in the temple of light. Ganondorf, who was already revealed to be the bad guy since he betrayed the current king, did not have any trouble going from the chamber to the triforce room. Ganondorf got the triforce on the same day he entered the sacred realm, since zelda received her piece as a child and hid as a sheikah for seven years. Ganondorf is the king way before Link wakes up and is told by rauru to save the world. The manual doesn't even include ganondorf, so the SNES Manual should be considered as evidence for the IW as well. "An opening was found" means the gate was open for a while, but an unknown amount of time had passed after it actually opened, so it was only after that duration that somebody realized/saw that it was open. Nobody knows how it opened in the first place. Once someone realized it was open, it occurred to him that the triforce was still in the sacred realm. However, immediately after the gate actually opened, it was possible for somebody to go in the SR, return to Hyrule with the triforce in hand, and then have a situation occur that led to the triforce returning to the SR. Or 3 people, one powerful, one wise, one courageous, but all 3 are selfless and have no true wishes/desires/personal gain (scientists like albert einstein) devised a triforce test: One of them entered the SR, touched the triforce causing it to split, the other two received the pieces, they went in the SR, reformed the triforce, then all 3 returned to Hyrule. This could have occurred in stealth, meaning nobody else in Hyrule was aware of it. The hyrule king can only gather the current 7 sages and seal the entrance after Ganondorf and his minions returned from the SR. They closed the seal (not lock it with the MS), but evil still radiated from the Hyrule temples and transformed the world into monsters for 7 years, so these sages did not actually bring peace to Hyrule. Battle did not last 7 years. Knights died protecting the sages, but the Sages died too, new ones had to be awakened.

The Awakened Sages in the AT of OoT may not be blood-related to the Ancient Temple Sages, but they are still related by tribe/race. The Ancient ones consist of a Forest Sage, Fire Sage, Water Sage, Shadow Sage, Spirit Sage, Light Sage, and the Leading/Seventh Sage. The Awakened ones are Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Impa, Nabooru, Rauru, and Zelda, respectively. The sage belonging to a race/tribe may not have been responsible for building that Temple. Saria is a Kokiri, a member of a Forest race. Darunia is a Goron, a member of a Fire tribe, as they are they are resistant to the extreme heat found in Death Mountain. Ruto is a Zora, a member of an aquatic (Water) race. Impa is a Sheikah, a member of a Shadow Tribe. Nabooru is a Gerudo, a member of a race based primarily in the desert where the Spirit Temple dwells and where very few could venture. They are not literally a "spirit race", but based on the all of the information in OoT, they are very spirited/spiritual in character. Rauru is a bit of a mystery, he is a sage who guards the Sacred Realm's Temple of Light. There may be some qualities about him that attribute to him existing as a "light being" of some sorts. He looks heavenly based on his robe, his white beard, his way of speaking (no nonsense, optimistic, yet honest). Zelda is a Hylian. All of the races/tribes in Hyrule serve or at least respect the Hylian Royal Family. The human maidens in ALTTP can't be related to the sages in OoT, they are all Hylian.

People have travelled to death mountain to search for the entrance to the golden land. They wound up stepping in the dark world tile. Without the magic mirror, they couldn't get back. The GBA manual refers to the Hyrule of ALTTP, not the Hyrule of OoT.

I'll break it down:

1.
Quote:
But now that Ganon has been
destroyed, his Dark World will
surely vanish.
1.
Quote:
The Triforce is waiting for a
new master. Its Golden Power is

Split Quote 1 in half you will see how a triforce owner's death and a new master are unrelated.

2.
Quote:
If you defeat Ganon, this
world will vanish, and the
Triforce will wait
for a new master.
For starters, in Quotes 1 & 2, the phrase "will vanish"/"will surely vanish" means "eventually", not "instantly". This is supported by the state of the Pyramid after Link killed Ganon, the inside still looks the same. Oh and "vanish" is just a figure of speech, unless Copperfield came up with the ultimate magic trick. Quote 2 is a "kill 2 birds with 1 stone" scenario. If Link kills Ganon, the DW will vanish and the Triforce will wait for a new Master. It doesn't specifically say a wish has to be made for the DW to disappear. Immediately after Ganon got destroyed is when that Triforce started waiting, then the door to the triforce room opened.

Quote:
If you defeat Ganon, this
world will vanish, and the
Triforce will wait
for a new master.
That is from the GBA. This is the 5th Maiden talking, the one who is in the Ice Palace.

Here is the SNES version:

Quote:
If you defeat
Ganon, this world will vanish
and the Triforce will wait for
a new holder.
This is the literal translation:

A Link to the Past Quote FAQ

Quote:
If you defeat Ganon, this World of Darkness should also vanish, and the Triforce should again wait for the appearance of its next owner.
It's the literal translation of the SNES one. In all honesty, I don't see how the GBA literal translation would be any different, seeing as how "holder" and "master" is the only word change. If Ganon is defeated/killed, he will "vanish", so the Dark World will "vanish" as well. Ganon's deaths in TP, TWW, ALTTP, LoZ are all the same. They were only programmed to look different (ashes, stone, etc.) just for the sake of being different. This is why TP's map and OoT's map look different, in reality it's the same place, but it would be stupid to see the same exact thing again.

A Quick Comment on the SR and Ganon

The Evil Realm/Dark World from OoT became the Sacred Realm/Golden Land again some time before ALTTP, since it was Ganon's Wish in ALTTP that changed the Golden Land/Sacred Realm to the Dark World/Evil Realm. Ganon from ALTTP is not the same Ganon from OoT since he died in TWW. In OoT, the SR became evil. In TWW, the evil realm became sacred again.

Within TWW, he verbalized the wishes that were important to the story. He didn't verbalize his wish of splitting and sending the Triforce to a different location. He wished for it to travel to a specific or general place, it's his wish, but the destination of the triforce isn't important here. The only reason we see it split and fly up is so people wouldn't ask "the triforce was on the ground with Daphnes, but then we didn't see it ever again, why not?" It was enough to show its split and departure. It's also not indicated in TWW that ganon's soul survived. So it's still possible Daphnes wished for the SR to become good again. I'm not sure why he would leave it evil if he has the simple ability to alter its reality anyway.

Quote:
Let a ray of hope shine on the future of the world!!!
I don't think it would be wise to leave the SR evil if he wants to ensure this part of the wish. The SR in OoT was evil and it contained Ganon's minions throughout the AT part of the game. It wouldn't look good if something evil crept out of the SR to cause trouble in the new world.

TWW - The Seal on Ganon

Daphnes does not know why the seal failed. It was broken without his knowledge or an explanation. In ALTTP, people noticed Agahnim. In TWW, nobody is noticed. This means that Ganondorf broke the seal. He has the ToP with him, unlike the ganon from ALTTP. Remember, ALTTP ganon does not want to use the triforce or a piece of it to open the seal, otherwise it would split and end up in the light world. Better safe than sorry, he touches/holds the triforce to only get wishes from it.

Quote:
Foolish child. While that sword is indeed
the blade of evil's bane, at the same time,
it has long played another role...

You see, it is also a sort of key...
a most wretched little key that has kept
the seal on me and my magic intact!
This confirms that Adult Zelda from OoT placed the MS back into the Pedestal (or she gave it to somebody else to do this), locking the already closed door to the SR.

How to Kill Ganon(dorf)

With the ToP in his possession, silver arrows can kill Ganon(dorf). The MS, Light Arrows, Wooden/White/Magical Sword can weaken him. Without the ToP in his possession, the MS can kill him, Light Arrows can weaken him and Silver ones will kill him.

Unconsciousness, death, or being in a process of dying causes a triforce bearing person to enter a state where somebody can take that piece away.

Therefore, in TP, he was dying because Link stabbed the MS into that scar on his chest. Zelda can take away G's ToP. If a triforce is in somebody, it can be physically taken out, as noted by TWW Triforce cutscene and the fact that the ToW served as a necklace before that. The pieces were granted to Link and Zelda in both timelines of OoT, once when G touched the triforce, and the other in the end of the game when Link was sent back to the CT. The goddesses didn't just grant the ToC to Link, they gave the other two pieces to Zelda and Ganon. It's all or nothing. There is no reason why the goddesses would take the ToP away and leave the ToW and ToC with the others. Ganondorf either passed his ToP to Zant (or Zant took it from him), or Zelda (or Link) took it away from him.

Lex's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

Last Updated: 2 January 2009

Game Specific Topics

Legend of Zelda
-Ganon was possibly meant to wield the Trident.
-The land in this game is one under construction by the Deku Tree, and is not yet fully developed, hence most of the population living in caves.

Adventure of Link
-The towns in The Adventure of Link were named after the Sages from Ocarina of Time.
-“Ganon’s power” that is referenced as remaining in Hyrule after the events of The Legend of Zelda refers to his demon world and demon tribe which both still are active.
-Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
-The Adventure of Link regions may be in the northeastern sea in Phantom Hourglass. Death Mountain is Goron Island from that game. Maze Island is the same place as the one from Phantom Hourglass.

A Link to the Past
-The voice-acted drama from The Legend of Zelda: Sound & Drama is possibly canonical (pending whether the soundtrack was supervised by Nintendo), even where it conflicts with the game’s original story. Rather than stealing the Triforce from the Sacred Realm as posed in the original manual, Ganon bade his minions, probably the soldiers brainwashed by Agahnim, to steal the Triforce for him from Hyrule Castle, where it rested, within the year A Link to the Past took place. This change in storyline serves the purpose of connecting A Link to the Past to The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link. Even if Sound & Drama is NOT canon (if it was not supervised by Nintendo), many of its ideas have been used in other less questionable material.[7]
-The GBA version, and the changes made in it, are more canon than the SNES version, although the SNES manual is still correct.
-The Swamp Maiden's speach about Ganondorf not being able to leave the Sacred Realm is a reference to the current one, and not Ocarina Ganondorf, the one from the Seal War.[1]
-Ganon split his soul, creating a bunshin, in order to escape the seal prior to A Link to the Past. Ganon's soul-split possessed Agahnim. When Agahnim died, Ganon's soul-split left his body and returned to Ganon.
-The Palace of the Four Sword may be canon. The Palace depicts a broken Four Sword; Four Swords Adventures may connect to this by having Ganon sealed by the Four Sword at the end, with a seal cast on the Four Sword itself.

Link's Awakening
-Koholint Island is an amalgam of Link's memories and the Wind Fish's dreams, with the Nightmares imposing themselves into the dream.
-The Wind Fish is a descendant of and/or the same type of spiritual being as the Ocean King of Phantom Hourglass.
-Marin does not in fact become real in the ending, but Link sees seagulls in the sky and they remind him of her wish.

Ocarina of Time
-The events of Ocarina of Time are those told of in the Imprisoning War legend.[1,3]
-Sharp and Flat may have been Sheikah.[4]
-The Sheikah used Gossip Stones to spy on the various regions of Hyrule.[4]
-Malon's mother was a Gerudo, and Link marries Malon in the Child timeline.
-The Desert Colossus does not represent Din.
-Kaepora Gaebora is not Rauru.
-The Ancient Sages, with the exception of Rauru, are no longer alive but have new incarnations, the Ocarina of Time sages.[2]
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the Hylian Knights as described in the Imprisoning War story.[1]
-In the ending, Link was sent back to a point consistent with time travel throughout the rest of the game. The difference is that he closes the Door of Time this time and calls to rally the sages, preventing Ganondorf's conquest of Hyrule.[5]

Majora's Mask
-Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule.
-Skull Kid is the same one who you play Saria's Song for, and sell a mask to, in Ocarina of Time.
-The Stone Tower was built as a defiance to the Goddesses of Hyrule, who the people associated with the despised Skull Kid.
-The Stone Tower was not flipped by divine intervention, and in all actuality, there was no intervention by the Goddesses whatsoever.
-The Garos brought the Light Arrows with the intention of flipping the Stone Tower.
-The Garo may be related to the Subrosians.

Oracle of Seasons/Ages
-The games can be played in either order without major effects to the storyline, but Seasons-Ages is the more canon order.
-The Master Sword is canon.
-Link is not the same Link featured in Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link.
-Jabu Jabu is the same as/a descendant of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
-The linked game and ending are canon.

Wind Waker
-Ganon is able to use the Triforce of Power to create a portal to escape the Sacred Realm just as he does to escape the flood seal. Before he can do this, he has to manipulate his way out of the Master Sword's own seal, which requires a bunshin. As a bunshin, he kills the sages who pray for the Master Sword's power. The bulk of the population does not understand that he became a bunshin and stole the Master Sword's power, so it is said that he was "revived for no reason."
-Ganon escaped the flood seal the same way he escaped the sages' seal, because the Master Sword could not hold him, as described in Wind Waker. His demon tribe remains bound however.
-Daphnes is not dead and not a spirit; he is fully alive having been sealed in Hyrule.
-The Kokiri, as spirits, did not techincally "evolve", but instead, took on a new form, and became the Koroks.
-The Rito need not be related to the Zoras genealogically, as Medli inherits the sagehood through ritual. Some of the Zoras became "fierce Zoras" thanks to Bellum's influence, and others migrated out of Wind Waker's territory to other places, such as Labrynna.
-The plan of the Deku Tree and the Koroks to create more land with their seeds is a legitimate plot element used to leave Wind Waker open to connect to other games.
-Daphnes' mention of the "laws of the past" are a reference to Zelda's duty as the Princess to protect the Triforce of Wisdom from evil.
-The Triforce goes away in the end of the game not because Daphnes is about to die or because Hyrule is destroyed but because Daphnes is willing it to place itself as we see in The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link so his descendants can use it to christen a new country.

Four Swords Adventures
-The seal cast on the Four Sword by the maidens in the game ending sends the sword into the Sacred Realm.
-The Dark Mirror is the Mirror of Twilight, but on a different timeline, as indicated by the fact that it is broken at the end of Twilight Princess. It was never used to banish Ganondorf in the Adult timeline, so it remains in the temple where it was originally sealed.[3]
-The Dark World of Four Swords Adventures is not the corrupted Sacred Realm like in A Link to the Past, but instead, an incarnation of the Twilight Curtain.
-Shadow Links are brought forth by the Dark Mirror, and corrupted by Ganon's evil power, manifested physically into a representation of evil: the opposite of Link.
-Ganon's "secondary" title of "Majuu", which means "Demon Beast", is the same as that of Ganon in Twilight Princess, because both refer to the transformation of Ganondorf from his human form to a demonic form.
-Ganondorf may be a physical reincarnation of the ancient Gerudo King, but he may also just be an ordinary male Gerudo, with Ganondorf being a traditional Gerudo name.

Minish Cap
-The Minish may have lived in Hyrule indefinitely, even prior to the Minish Cap backstory.
-Link's obtaining of the hat is not indication of timeline placement, but a spiritual origin story, used as a "fairy tale" of sorts to posthumously explain Link's hat. This is one of the running themes of Minish Cap
-The Armos constructed by the Minish are only the Armos in the Wind Ruins. No other Armos can be said to have been built by the Minish.
-The "Triumph Forks" book is not a mere cameo. It is a valid timeline indicator, as indicated by its inclusion among books labeled as "history" books.
-The books entitled with the Japanese names of the Oracle games are not a mere cameo. They are valid timeline indicators. (See above.)
-The book entitled "History of Hyrule" is not a mere cameo, and very well may be the story being referenced in the SNES A Link to the Past manual.
-Din, Nayru, and Farore are not solely cameos, but direct descendants of those with the same names in the Oracle games, and therefore, valid timeline indicators. Their movement to Hyrule indicates that their roles in their respective lands have been served.
-Vaati's physical body dies in the end. This may or may not require that he be resurrected somehow prior to Four Swords. (The manga posits that Vaati did not die.)

Twilight Princess
-Twilight Princess is a parallel to many events on the Adult timeline (including Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, and Four Swords Adventures
-The state of the Triforce in Twilight Princess is due to precisely the same circumstances that caused it to split in Ocarina of Time.[5]
-The sages belief that Ganondorf's Triforce of Power acquisition is a "divine prank" is synonymous to Zelda's description in Ocarina of Time that it was an "unfortunate coincidence." Twilight Princess often uses more poetic language than its predecessor to describe the same scenarios.[5]
-Ganondorf's "god complex" in Twilight Princess is to be understood in the context that his captors could not destroy him.[5]
-Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are mostly due to retcon. The old Hyrule design is carried over into the "New Hyrule" titles, that is, the 2D games.
-The Temple of Time is the same one from Ocarina of Time.
-Ganondorf and Zant became soulbound to each other, possibly after the manner of Agahnim in A Link to the Past.
-Zants refusal to be revived led to Ganondorf's demise.
-Becuase Silver Arrows were not used, Ganon may still be alive in spirit.
-The state of the Triforce of Power in the ending is unknown.
-The position of the Master Sword in Twilight Princess is an intentional reference to A Link to the Past but like the Mirror of Twilight does not necessarily indicate that the two games coexist in one history. It may indicate geographical continuity between the Sacred Grove and the Master Sword pedestal in A Link to the Past.

Phantom Hourglass
-The Realm of the Ocean King is an extension of the Great Sea, north of the original Great Sea.
-The "otherworld" idea refers to either the spiritual nature of the Ocean King's sea or to the effects of the Ghost Ship, and does not indicate that the game took place in an alternate dimension.
-The Ocean King can bend time, which explains the ending of Phantom Hourglass where Link and Tetra return to where they were, the Ghost Ship vanishes, and Linebeck's ship is restored.
-The six sages that have graves in Phantom Hourglass are related to the Sages from Ocarina of Time, barring Zelda.[2]
-The fact that Link and Zelda were only gone for 10 minutes is explained by the fact that Link retains the [now empty] Phantom Hourglass: They were returned to their world and time by the power of the Ocean King and the Phantom Hourglass.
-The Cobble are the ancestors of the Zuna from Four Swords Adventures.

Non-Game Specific Topics

The Fierce, Prolonged Wars[3]
-The bloodshed amongst the people spoken about in A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are the same set of events.
-Sometime during these wars is when a group of magic wielders [incorrectly called Interlopers by Nintendo of America] rose to power. These magic wielders may or may not be related to the mages seen in Four Swords Adventures.
-This is when [as stated earlier] the Gossip Stones were used by the Sheikah to spy on various peoples.[4]
-The Shadow Temple and Bottom of the Well show that the Sheikah had ways of dealing with any who were not loyal to the Royal Family.[4]
-The unifying of Hyrule by the King prior to Ocarina of Time marks the end of these wars and the beginning of the period when "Hyrule was one kingdom/country".

The Adventure of Link Backstory/Manual
-The Adventure of Link manual is still canon, as the newest release of it is the exact same [in the Japanese text] as the very first release.
-"When Hyrule was one country" refers to the time period of Ocarina of Time when this was said to have been the case.
-The Great King is the Ocarina of Time king; the Sleeping Zelda is the Ocarina of Time Zelda; the Wizard is Ganondorf; the Prince and the Scroll Writer is Daphnes.
-The King "using the Triforce to maintain peace in Hyrule" refers to the king's role as protector of the Triforce, the source of the world's providence, from evils, not a literal possession and use.
-The Prince inherited the part of the Triforce that Daphnes holds in The Wind Waker.
-The Sleeping Zelda incident and the hiding of the Triforce of Courage are in a chronologically separated proximity.
-Zelda's title of "first generation/founder" refers to her as being the first Zelda of the timeline.
-The secret that the Princess knew was the location of the Triforce of Courage.

The A Link to the Past Manual[1]
-The Nintendo of America SNES manual for A Link to the Past is not canon, as it is overwhelmingly full of mistranslations and censorships.
-The Japanese SNES manual for A Link to the Past is canon, with many additions and clarifications appearing in Ocarina of Time. No direct inaccuracies exist between the two stories [example: ALttP says the king summoned the sages; OoT says an awakening call summoned the sages-- thus, the king initiated an awakening call to summon the sages].
-The GBA manual for A Link to the Past should be used when determining the context of A Link to the Past, as it places the emphasis back on the Seal, specifies that the Triforce never left the Sacred Realm prior to the Imprisoning War, and removes any indication that the Ganon of A Link to the Past was involved in the Imprisoning War.

The Minish Cap Manual/Backstory
-The Minish Cap backstory does not predate Ocarina of Time.
-The Hero of Men is not Gustaf.
-The Hero of Men is not the Link from Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link.
-The Hero of Men may be Swiftblade I.
-The Picori Blade is not the Master Sword or any other previously seen sword.

The Imprisoning War[1]
-The Imprisoning War cannot happen at a time after the Triforce has left the Sacred Realm.
-The Imprisoning War is the first time evil flowed from the Sacred Realm.
-The Imprisoning War, in its entirety, consists of the events of the adult side of Ocarina of Time.
-Ganondorf's story was removed from the GBA telling of the Imprisoning War, because the Ganondorf involved in the Imprisoning War [Ocarina of Time Ganon] is no longer living.
-Imprisoning War Ganon escaped the Seal [without breaking it] prior to Wind Waker, and then physically died.
-The Ganon we see in-game in A Link to the Past is the result of Four Swords Adventures Ganondorf [not Imprisoning War Ganondorf] taking on Imprisoning War Ganon's soul. He is a different physical entity bearing the same spirit. [the memories were lost as the spirit was revived without a mind in Oracles].
-Though Four Swords Adventures, and the events which inevitably follow it, help set the stage for A Link to the Past, it is in no way part of, or related to, the Imprisoning War.
-All in-game references to Ganon in A Link to the Past are describing the current Ganon, Four Swords Adventures Ganon, and not Imprisoning War Ganon.
-As indicated by the Swamp Maiden, some time in between Four Swords Adventures and A Link to the Past, Ganon entered the Sacred Realm and could not find a way back out. This event is independent of the Imprisoning War, and takes place long after the war. Ganon could not find a way out, because the Seal still remained intact.

The Trident
-Though Ganon may have been meant to wield the Trident in Legend of Zelda, he was not soul-bound to it.
-During the Oracles linked ending, Twinrova puts Ganon's soul into the Trident. Twinrova calls Ganon's spirit into Yorishiro, or an object that houses a spirit's soul. Yorishiro are commonly weapons, and a different word (Yorimashi) would likely have been used were it meant to be a living body.
-Once it harbors Ganon's soul, the Trident has the power to turn anyone who wields it into the King of Darkness. The first example is Twinrova in the Oracles, the second is Ganondorf from Four Swords Adventures.
-The Four Swords Adventures Trident inscription [in Japanese], "Wielder of the Trident, the evil [ja-ki] of the demon resurrected from ancient times" indicates that the Trident was previously owned by the Ganon from the Oracles.
-While "ja-ki" can mean "device/weapon", it can also mean "vessel", and in light of the Oracles' linked ending, "vessel" appears to be the appropriate translation.
-Four Swords Adventures Ganondorf takes the Trident, takes on Ganon's soul, and becomes the King of Darkness.

Ganon's Title[6]
-Ganon's different titles in the games have significance.
-All of the games in which Ganon bears the Japanese title "Daimaou", or "Great Demon King", must be connected, as that is a specific title which holds certain qualifications.
-Any game featuring Daimaou Ganon must take place during a time when the Sacred Realm, or some other specifically named territory, has become Ganon's "Makai", or "Demon World" [Dark World in the English].
-The games in which Ganon bears the Japanese title "Yami no Maou", or "Demon King of Darkness", are connected, and cannot come in between games in which he his called "Daimaou".
-The Oracle games (as of the release of Four Swords Adventures) represent a transition phase with the sealing of Daimaou Ganon's spirit in the Trident [see earlier Trident section], and Ganon's proclamation that he is the Yami no Maou "Demon King of Darkness," his title in Four Swords Adventures and A Link to the Past.

Force
-There is no real difference between "life force, "force gems", and "the Light Force", as all are called by the exact same word in Japanese. They are only in different forms, and thus, given different names in the English version.
-Life force is similar to a soul, and everyone has it.
-Force gems are crystalized life force.
-The Light Force is a powerful concentration of life force.
-As the "essence of the gods", the Triforce is very similar to three powerful force gems.
-Though the Triforce and the Light Force are not the same item, they are likely made of the same substance.
-Tears of Light from Twilight Princess are/function the same as force gems from Four Swords Adventures.

Spinoffs
-BS: Legend of Zelda may show director intent for Legend of Zelda Ganon to wield a Trident and for the Imprisoning War to be in a more distant proximity to A Link to the Past than originally implied.
-The storyline background of Ancient Stone Tablets is wholly canonical when determining what happened before, during, and after A Link to the Past. Its statement that Ganon in A Link to the Past stole the Triforce "six years" before Ancient Stone Tablets overrides the possibility that Ganon's theft of the Triforce happened during the Imprisoning War and corroborates the story told in Sound & Drama.[7]
-Tetra’s Trackers, a small diversion packaged with the Japanese version of Four Swords Adventures, is entirely canon but completely irrelevant, and happens sometime within the events of The Wind Waker.
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is canon as it explains the origins of Tingle and the Subrosians.
-Link’s Crossbow Training, like Tetra’s Trackers, is entirely canon but completely irrelevant, and happens sometime after the events of Twilight Princess.

Timeline
-The time period when Hyrule was "a beautiful land surrounded by forests and mountains" references the age of Ocarina of Time in which this is literally the case. This makes any game with a water and/or island-based Hyrule impossible to place on the Child Timeline.
-Ocarina of Time is the Imprisoning War in its entirety [as stated before].[1]
-A Link to the Past is a sequel to The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link as stated by Miyamoto, not a prequel as originally believed.
-Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link were always meant to be the immediate timeline prequels to the Oracles, and nothing suggests that has changed.
-Link's Awakening was originally intended to be after A Link to the Past, but may possibly also be after the Oracles. Since the whole game was a dream it has no timeline relevance, and as implied by Shigeru Miyamoto, it is neither clear nor important where it belongs.
-Ocarina of Time causes a timeline split, with games coming after both of its endings. These two timelines are called the "Adult Timeline" and the "Child Timeline."[5]
-The Legend of Zelda, The Minish Cap, Four Swords Adventures, and A Link to the Past show a progression from the watery islands of Hyrule to a single, solid island, via the Deku Tree's success.
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, featuring a land made up of several "continents" as opposed to small islands,as well as the inclusion of places with familiar names [Lon Lon Meadows, Mountain of Death] indicates the Deku Tree's success and the survival of the names of places from the sunken Hyrule.
-The library books and Oracles of Minish Cap and the Trident inscription of Four Swords Adventures, all point to an early post-flood placement of the Oracles.

Lex's current timeline:

[Adult] OoT-WW/PH-LoZ/AoL-OoS/OoA-TMC-FS/FSA-ALttP/LA
[Child] OoT/MM-TP
[Apocrypha] TWW/TT/PH-TFPRR/TBF-LoZ/ZGW/ZG&W/AoL---[ALttPS&D]/ALttP/AST/LA

Miscellaneous
-Whether or not an element of or related to the Zelda series is canon is determined by whether or not it was created or supervised by Nintendo, not its presumed relevance or whether it seems to fit.
-All Zelda games, instruction manuals, game boxes, and soundtracks that are created or supervised by Nintendo are canon.
-All developer statements are canon unless contradicted by another developer statement later.
-The CD-i Zelda games are not canon because they were not created by Nintendo. The Zelda franchise was licensed to Phillips, but Nintendo did not create the games Phillips produced.
-The various Zelda manga are not canon because they were not created by Nintendo. The Zelda franchise was licensed to the writers of these manga, but Nintendo did not create the manga these writers produced.
-Light Arrows are not the same as Silver Arrows. Light Arrows only have the power to weaken the defenses of evil, Silver Arrows are the only thing that can kill the maou Ganon.
-The Sages [Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess], Shrine Maidens [Four Swords Adventures], and Maidens [A Link to the Past], all perform similar duties, but slowly decreased in power over time, in the order previously stated.[2]
-When referring to Sages and other spiritual leaders, the term "descendant" is not necessarily a blood relation, but a successor.[2]

So, it's alot of copy and paste from Erimgard, but hey, there are a few changes.
Try to find them all!

Skylark's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

Last Updated: October 27, 2008

Game Specific Topics

Legend of Zelda
-Ganon was possibly meant to wield the Trident, but could not because of graphical limitations.
-The Magical Sword is not the Master Sword.
-Hyrule is the "new hyrule" after TWW

Adventure of Link
-Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
-Maze Island is the same place as the one from Phantom Hourglass.
-The triforce does not return to the Sarcred Realm at the end, the power alone was enough to awaken Zelda.

A Link to the Past
-The GBA version, and the changes made in it, are more canon than the SNES version.
-The lumberjacks have nothing to do with the Kokiri

-The Master Sword is canon
-Onox and Veran are Twili.
-Link is the same as LoZ/AoL
-Jabu Jabu is a descendent of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
-The linked game and ending are canon.
-The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm at the end of the linked game for reasons unknown.

-The state of the Triforce in Twilight Princess is the result of a paradox in which Link has the ToC in the Ct, while simultaneously leaving it behind in the AT.
-The sages believe Ganondorf's Triforce of Power acquisition to be a "divine prank" because he never touched the Triforce.
-Ganondorf's "god complex" in Twilight Princess is the result of having a Triforce piece without touching the Triforce combined with surviving an execution attempt.
-Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are due to retcon.

-The only canon manual is the GBA one. Japanese is more canon than the English of course.

However, the Light Force does not have a physical form.

Skylark's current timeline:

[Adult]/WW/PH---LoZ/AoL/OoS/OoA--[FPTRR]--MC---FS/FSA---aLttP/LA

Aleph's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

Last Updated on January 22, 2009

Game Specific Topics

Legend of Zelda

- Ganon was possibly meant to wield the Trident, but could not because of graphical limitations.
- Magical Sword is not the Master Sword.
- Legend of Zelda is the first game to take place in the new Hyrule.

Adventure of Link

- Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
- Maze Island is the same place as the one from Phantom Hourglass.

A Link to the Past

- Triforce stays in the Sacred Realm after Link makes his wish
- The lumberjacks are Kokiri
- The GBA version is (sadly) the more canon version.
- Any mention of Ganon in the game is in reference to FSA Ganon, not OoT Ganon.
- Ganon split his soul to bypass the seal, and his bunshin possessed Agahnim.
- The Palace of the Four Sword is canon.

Link’s Awakening

- Wind Fish is most likely a descendant of the Ocean King, but is not related in any way to Lord Jabu-Jabu/Jabun.

Ocarina of Time

- Sharp and Flat were Hylian.
- Ganondorf was unable to make his wish in OoT, as the Triforce split when he touched it.
- Desert Colossus does not represent Din.
- Kaepora Gaebora is the Happy Mask Salesman’s alter ego
- During Link’s seven-year sleep, Ganon killed the Knights of Hyrule
- During Link’s seven-year sleep, Ganon killed the Ancient Sages
- In the ending, Link was sent back to a point after he had left the forest, but before he met Zelda.

Majora’s Mask

- Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule.
- Skull Kid is the same one you give the mask too and play Saria’s Song for in Ocarina of Time.
- The inside of the Moon is a physical manifestation of Skull Kid's psyche.
- The Stone Tower was built as a defiance to the Goddesses of Hyrule, who the people associated with the despised Skull Kid.
- The “fairy kid” Skull Kid speaks of in the ending is Saria, not Link.

Oracle of Seasons/Ages

- The games can be played in either order without major effects to the storyling, but Seasons-Ages is the more canon order.
- Din, the Oracle of Seasons, is at least part Gerudo
- The Master Sword is canon
- Veran is a Twili; however, Onox is not. He is merely a high-ranking Ball-and-Chain soldier.
- Link is the same one seen in LoZ/AoL
- Jabu Jabu is a descendent of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
- The linked ending is canon.
- The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm in the linked ending.

The Wind Waker

- Prior to Wind Waker, Ganon escaped the Sacred Realm Seal without breaking it.
- Ganon's escape of the Sacred Realm Seal is left unexplained, and will likely never be explained. As Hylian text states, "he was revived for no reason".
- Ganon's escape of the Flood Seal can be explained by Ganon splitting his soul, using the bunshin to kill the two Sages who empower the Master Sword, putting the two parts of his soul back together, and being free to roam, as the Master Sword no longer had the power to seal him.
- The Kokiri, as spirits, did not techincally "evolve", but instead, took on a new form, and became the Koroks.
- The Rito are unrelated to the Zoras genealogically. Medli inherits the sagehood through ritual. Some of the Zoras became "fierce Zoras" thanks to Bellum's influence, and others migrated out of Wind Waker's territory to other places, such as Labrynna.
- The plan of the Deku Tree and the Koroks to create more land with their seeds is a legitimate plot element used to leave Wind Waker open to connect to other games.
- Daphnes' mention of the "laws of the past" are a reference to Zelda's duty as the Princess to protect the Triforce of Wisdom from evil.
- Daphnes' wish sent the Triforce off to await a new owner as seen in Adventure of Link.
- The Ganondorf body was destroyed in the ending, but as the silver arrows were not used, the Ganon spirit survived.

Four Swords Adventures

-The Dark Mirror is the Mirror of Twilight, but on a different timeline.
-The Dark World of Four Swords Adventures is not the corrupted Sacred Realm like in A Link to the Past, but instead, the Twilight Curtain

The Minish Cap

-Gustaf is the King from the LoZ/AoL/OoX era
-Din, Nayru, and Farore are not cameos, but direct descendants of those with the same names in the Oracle games, and therefore, valid timeline indicators.

Twilight Princess

- Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are mostly due to retcon
- The foggy area of the Faron Woods is the remnants of the Kokiri Forest
- Hero’s Shade is the spirit of the Hero of Time
- Skull Kid is the same one seen in OoT and MM
- The Temple of Time is the same one seen in Ocarina of Time
- The Kokiri are not extinct in Twilight Princess, they merely never show themselves or are hiding in an unexplored area of the forest.
- The Gerudo integrated into the Hylian race
- Zant’s refusal to be revived led to Ganondorf's demise
- Because Silver Arrows were not used, Ganon may still be alive in spirit.
- The state of the Triforce of Power in the ending is unknown
- The Fused Shadows and Majora’s Mask are parallels
- The ancestors of the Twili came from different races; most likely Hylian, Sheikah and Gerudo.
- The interlopers are not in any way connected to the tribe that made Majora’s Mask.

-The islands of Phantom Hourglass, with the help of the Koroks, eventually become the basis of the Hyrule seen in Adventure of Link.

Non-Game Specific Topics

Fierce/Prolonged Wars

-The bloodshed amongst the people spoken about in A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess are the same set of events.
-These events predate Ocarina of Time.
-Sometime during these wars is when a group of magic wielders [incorrectly called Interlopers by Nintendo of America] rose to power.
-The magic wielders are were made up of members of various tribes, and are not all of the same tribe, nor are they any entire tribe.
-The unifying of Hyrule by the King prior to Ocarina of Time marks the end of these wars.
-All of the major tribes except for the Gerudos formed an alliance at this time.

Adventure of Link Backstory

- Takes place shortly after the events of OoT
- The princess mentioned in the story is the same one seen in OoT.
- The King who was killed in the story is the king of the OoT era.
- Daphnes is the prince mentioned in the backstory and also the scroll writer
- Daphnes wrote the scroll before the events of TWW took place and hid it in the Great Palace
- Ganon’s bunshin is the wizard mentioned in the story.

A Link to the Past Manual
-The GBA manual for A Link to the Past is the only canon one, as it places the emphasis back on the Seal, specifies that the Triforce never left the Sacred Realm prior to the Seal War, and removes any indication that the Ganon of A Link to the Past was involved in the Seal War.
Seal/Imprisoning War

-The games in which Ganon bears the Japanese title "Yami no Maou", or "Demon King of Darkness", are connected, and cannot come inbetween games in which he his called "Daimaou".

-The inclusion of Subrosians in Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, the library books and Oracles of Minish Cap, and the Trident inscription of Four Swords Adventures all point to an early post-flood placement of the Oracles.

Game Related

Legend of Zelda

-Ganon's ashes are not due to the Triforce of Power trying to preserve him. He's clearly dead, and the ToP is doing nothing to stay with him. It just sits there and lets Link pick it up. The ashes were just meant to look cool and be a convenient plot device in AoL. Beyond that, they're not important.

Adventure of Link

-The King of Hyrule from the backstory wielded the entire Triforce and held it in his possession, meaning that it did not go back to the Sacred Realm.

-The King of Hyrule from the backstory wrote the scroll and hid the Triforce of Courage.

-The Prince is not a pre-existing character; he is simply a nameless prince.

-Since the Adult Timeline seems to have two separate Hyrules, and since Ganondorf likely killed all of Zelda's relatives in Ocarina of Time, the "founder" Zelda mentioned in Adventure of Link's backstory is likely the first Zelda born to the second kingdom of Hyrule, not OoT's Zelda.

-The wizard that cursed Zelda was merely a power-hungry magician who wanted the Triforce for himself, not a previous villain. Hyrule certainly isn't lacking people who desire the Triforce.

-Because the Triforce returning to the Sacred Realm wasn't a concept when AoL was made, and since the King of Hyrule could keep the Triforce in his possession, I believe that Hyrule kept the Triforce after Link revived Zelda with it.

A Link to the Past

-Link's clothing is nothing special in Hyrule; some NPC's wear similar tunics and hats.

-Agahnim was completely created by Ganon and not a possessed person. Agahnim appears to have conveniently come from nowhere and is clearly revealed to be Ganon after his second encounter with Link. There are numerous statues of Agahnim on the Pyramid of Power, and since Ganon is thankless and selfish I doubt that he'd honor an ally, especially not if Agahnim was just a person he was possessing. Also, in Phantom Hourglass, both of Ciela's bodies appear to have a physical form, as evidenced by her wings.

-The GBA manual is simply a summary of the original manual instead of something new. It was reduced from six large pages to two tiny ones and therefore needed to be heavily condensed. Thus, it is not meant to tie Ocarina of Time to A Link to the Past.

-The Triforce was not as powerful in ALTTP as it would later be in OoT, so it possibly couldn't grant Ganon's wish in full. He would have to invade Hyrule to gain it. Alternatively, since Ganon was just a thief (a leader of particularly evil thieves, but a typical thief regardless) in the initial backstory, he may not have been great enough to have his entire wish carried out. Also, Ganon's wish to rule the world (which would doom the people) might have conflicted with Daphnes' wish for a hopeful future and, at least for Hyrule, the clash of the wishes led to Hyrule not being in Ganon's hands yet not guaranteed a hopeful future anymore. In the end, this Triforce problem will likely never be answered. Nintendo just wanted a game to exist.

-There was no pre-existing seal before Ganon made his wish, and if there was one then the Triforce could have easily overcome it or worked around it, seeing as how it was stated to be omnipotent when it came to granting wishes and that even the Magic Mirror can overcome the ALTTP seal.

-The Triforce was clearly empowering Ganon. He had become incredibly powerful, his bunshin (technically half of him) could single-handedly conquer Hyrule, and it took tons of Master Sword swings and 4 Silver Arrows to kill him. Also, considering that Ganondorf was originally just a typical thief before touching the Triforce, it's even more obvious that he was empowered by it.

Link's Awakening

-Link's Awakening is the direct sequel to A Link to the Past.

-Koholint Island was not real.

Ocarina of Time

-While I think Nintendo first intended Ocarina of Time to be the Imprisoning War, I personally believe that they've botched the whole connection and have just created a mess. At this point, if one were to try and fit it into the timeline, it'd be more reasonable to treat the Imprisoning War as an event not covered by any of the games.

-Ocarina of Time comes first in the timeline.

-Like The Minish Cap and A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time explains the origin of Link's clothing; it's regular Kokiri garb. If I recall correctly, several Kokiri can be seen wearing a hat similar to Link's as well.

-Ganondorf, definitely aware of Link after he obtained the Goron's Ruby, wrote the letter found in Lake Hylia to guide Link to the third Spiritual Stone. He either placed the bottled letter into the lake before he left Zora's Domain, after he left Zora's Domain, or he simply tossed it into the moat near Castle Town and let the current carry it.

-The day Ganondorf gained the Triforce of Power was the same day he conquered Hyrule, as evidenced by Impa after Link clears out the Shadow Temple. Zelda, Impa, and Ganondorf also state that those events happened on the same day. They typically say "On that day seven years ago".

-Ganondorf's pre-ToP "assault" on Hyrule Castle was a skirmish at best.

-Hyrule has complete control of the castle before Ganondorf gains the ToP.

-Due to his proximity to the Temple of Time, the fact that he was incredibly important to the people, and the fact that nothing suggests that he knew what was going to happen, the King of Hyrule was killed by Ganondorf. Ganondorf may have also suspected that the king, the ruler of the land, would have held one of the two missing Triforce pieces. Thus, there would be even more of an incentive to kill him.

-Zelda did not have a brother. Even if she did have a brother, said hypothetical brother would have likely been killed by Ganondorf due to his proximity to the Temple of Time, the potential of having a Triforce piece, and the potential to one day be king as well.

-Because of the scenarios they faced, the fact that Rauru could not assist them due to his incredibly limited influence, and the fact that the temples were utterly corrupted and thus of no help, some of the Sages may have died before Link awakened their spirits. The Sages I believe may have perished are Saria, Darunia, Ruto, and Impa. Nabooru was likely teleported away to be brainwashed at a later date, and Rauru and Zelda give no reason for us to believe that they might have perished.

-Due to the fact that Zelda changed her skin color, eye color, voice, appears to be far more muscular as Sheik, and the fact that the fate of the entire world was at stake (and thus desperate measures were necessary), I believe that Sheik truly was man, despite what Melee and Brawl say.

-The Sages do not believe that Ganondorf can be killed, regardless of the situation.

-Seeing as how the Sages open a portal to the Evil Realm from within the Sacred Realm, I think the Evil Realm of OOT is separate from the Sacred Realm to some degree.

-When Link gives the Ocarina of Time back to Zelda, they might be in the Sacred Realm, judging from the strange location.

-Because sending Link back to a time when he was already on his journey really wouldn't be giving him much of a chance to freely use his seven missing years, and since, in the Japanese version, Zelda flat-out said that getting Link involved in her plans was a mistake and that she was going to fix that particular mistake, Link was sent back to a time before he began his adventure, or at least before he met Zelda.

-Zelda does not recognize Link in the ending due to the fact that she has never met him before on the Child Timeline.

-OOT splits the timeline.

-When Link is sent to the Child Timeline, he almost immediately goes to Hyrule Castle and tells Zelda that her plan will only harm Hyrule and that Ganondorf should be left alone.

-When Link was sent across timelines, the ToC of the Adult Timeline left him while the ToC of the Child Timeline went to him, thus resulting in the Triforce splitting regardless, though all three wielders do not seem to know this.

Majora's Mask

-Termina is a parallel world. I honestly don't see why it wouldn't be.

-Termina was not actually doomed or cursed. Even Gaepora Kaebora (the Terminian owl) dropped that idea quickly, stating the he believed Link would save the day regardless. He even carved out a song in advance for Link.

-The Four Giants appear to be no more than giants that lived with the people and one day chose to be guardians. At best, they are similar to the Light Spirits.

-Termina was ultimately created by the Goddesses, whether it was intentional or not.

-Majora's Mask did not have a spirit sealed within it; the mask merely came to life over time. It was never called Majora in the Japanese version either, and it referred to itself in the third person to boot.

-The Ikanians were not actually blasphemous to the Goddesses, and probably didn't even know who they were. There's a better chance that Skull Kid doodled a Triforce somewhere (he did like drawing in MM after all) and it was believed to be his symbol than for the Ikanians to have known about the Goddesses. The Ikanians were simply a horribly corrupt, evil, bloodthirsty people that died off in the war with the Garo.

-The Garo may have died off in the same war that killed the Ikanians. The Garo may have also been just as bad as the Ikanians.

-The head that is the entrance to the Stone Tower Temple is not supposed to be a giant; it's Lakitu.

-The pillars seen near the entrance to the Stone Tower Temple are not supposed to be phalluses. If they actually are meant to be anything in particular, they'd probably be fingers.

-Because nobody in Ikana knows anything about Majora's Mask, and since the Stone Tower Temple is covered in artwork seemingly representing bugs and/or insects, the statue in the temple's foyer was not meant to look like the mask.

-The moon seen plummeting toward Clock Town throughout the game is not actually the moon of Termina, and appears to have been completely created by Majora's Mask. It blatantly burns up and becomes a rainbow in the ending to boot.

-The Fierce Deity Mask is not canon.

The Wind Waker

-Ganondorf broke the seal of the Sages, whether he simply did it from within or with some sort of bunshin method. He was certainly more powerful than the Sages in Ocarina of Time, and he was already experienced in opening gateways to other dimensions (when he banished Phantom Ganon). Since he's mentioned as returning for no reason with absolutely no mention of even the slightest omen or foul play beforehand, I don't think Ganon used an Agahnim-like method, though he might have done so in a far more secretive manner.

-Ganon's Makozu (demon tribe) is free and roaming throughout Hyrule and the Great Sea. Therefore, the Sages' seal on Ganon's Makai has been broken.

-Since Link killed all of Ganon's minions in Hyrule in OoT and the Sages would probably pick off the survivors to ensure that Hyrule would rebuild in safety, the minions have no other real point of origin than Ganon's Makai.

-The Master Sword did not seal Ganon. Additionally, Ganon eradicated the Master Sword Sages and their power; he didn't steal it. The MS Sages even say that he erased the sword's power.

-The OoT Sages are forgotten on the Great Sea. Seeing as how the people can't even remember Hyrule's name or what had happened to it, the Sages stand no chance of being remembered. Also, Link, who is clearly remembered, is credited for sealing Ganon, even though the Sages did that.

-Though the people had many legends, the fact that the legend told in the backstory and on the title screen was the one used in TWW indicates that it is the most prominent or at least the most accepted tale on the Great Sea.

-Though the Great Deku Tree wanted to one day unite the islands, he didn't want Hyrule to come back or for there to be a new Hyrule. Also, since Japanese translations have revealed that Daphnes wished for "Hyrule, land of the past," to be erased, any salvaged land brought up by the Deku Tree wouldn't be Hyrule anyway.

-The Hero of Winds is not related to the Hero of Time, nor is he a reincarnation of the Hero of Time.

-The Triforce returned to the Sacred Realm after Daphnes wished on it.

-Daphnes wasn't a ghost.

-Daphnes wanted Hyrule, along with its traditions and rules, to be destroyed and left in the past. He did not want Hyrule to return or for there to be a new Hyrule; he wanted his descendants to choose their own destiny.

-Link and Tetra respected Daphnes' final words and set out for "their" land, not a new Hyrule.

-Ganondorf died. Yes, I mean he actually died, not that he partially died or that his spirit was flying around in Hyrule.

-Because the people have nearly forgotten about Hyrule and are uncertain if it ever truly existed, the stage is set for a new Hyrule that is completely ignorant of the old one to be found/made after the game. This can easily transition into the AoL backstory.

Twilight Princess

-The Hero's Shade is the spirit of the Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

-Death Mountain, which has gone from a small and tranquil mountain to a massive, chaotic ball of broken rock and lava, is probably behind the majority of the geographical changes.

-The Sages of the Arbiter's Grounds are not the Elemental Sages from Ocarina of Time. They are a different group of Sages.

-Ganondorf, unable to use Link and Zelda to access the Sacred Realm, was eventually forced to invade Hyrule. Whether the combined efforts of Hyrule were enough to defeat him or the Light Spirits intervened like they did with the Twili's ancestors, Ganondorf was defeated.

-Ganondorf was defeated because he didn't know that he had the ToP and thus didn't use it. The Sages had no idea that he had the ToP either.

-The Mirror of Twilight was always kept at the Arbiter's Grounds; it wasn't moved around.

-The Mirror of Twilight was not used to dump bodies into the Twilight Realm. Such an act would be incredibly irresponsible for Sages and would be disrespectful toward the mirror.

-The Sages planned for Ganondorf to die from his stab wound and nothing more.

-Ganondorf's scar served as a massive hinderance and a weak point, ultimately allowing the Master Sword to kill him when run through the scar by Link. If the scar was absent he would not have died, and may have even prevailed.

-Ganondorf died. He didn't partially die and his spirit isn't floating around in Hyrule somewhere.

-Nobody has the ToP after Ganondorf dies.

-Zant was an Onmyoji.

-While Ganondorf did give some of his power to Zant, he may not have established an actual connection, seeing as how he was not actually a Kami and tends to be manipulative. If there was a connection, Ganondorf likely broke it after the Mirror of Twilight was shattered, seeing as how Zant had likely outlived his usefulness by then.

The Minish Cap

-Takes place in a new Hyrule found by Link and Tetra or created by the Great Deku Tree.

-The Light Force is not the Triforce of Wisdom.

-Vatti was supposed to be sealed in the ending to lead into Four Swords, but Nintendo screwed up and had him die instead.

Four Swords Adventures

-The Dark World seen in FSA is in fact the Dark World from ALTTP.

-Ganondorf was reincarnated; the Gerudo King was not a random male with the same name as Hyrule's antagonist of old. Aonuma even said that it's the same Ganondorf in every game in an interview. The Gerudo in FSA also say that Ganondorf became more and more evil with each year for no reason at all.

-Thanks to numerous translations that I have found, the Trident is not actually a vessel; it is referred to as a tool, such as a sword or a gun. The Trident doesn't house the spirit of Ganon; it merely empowers Ganondorf once he obtains it. Ganondorf becomes known as Ganon in the same way that Ganondorf became known as Ganon after transforming in Ocarina of Time. Even if the Trident was a vessel, it could easily just be a vessel for dark power, like how the Master Sword holds demon-smiting power or how the Bombos Medallion blows stuff up.

Oracles

-I'm inclined to believe that, if Twinrova had perished, nobody would bother to revive her. Ganon's minions would likely just try to revive him, and unlike Ganon Twinrova does not seem capable of being reincarnated. Because of this, there's a good chance that the Oracle games might be on the Child Timeline.

-Because Nintendo has a habit of using the form of a word that sounds more important and interesting, Zelda was in fact the intended yoshiro (or whatever that's called) despite technically being a yorimashi (I probably didn't get that name right either).

-The three flames were supposed to guide Ganon into the world, not the Trident. Incidentally, Zelda was placed in the center of the flames as though she were a bulls-eye.

-The altar Zelda was placed on may have been a butsudan (an altar used for communing with the dead), though this is just a random idea that I got.

-The trident was not the vessel for Ganon's soul. Twinrova turns herself into said vessel, which is obvious due to the fact that she becomes blue fire that then becomes Ganon. Alternatively, as shown in OoT and MM, ghosts usually take the form of fire with gaps in the flames to function as eyes and possibly a mouth. Sharp and Flat, authentic ghosts, were like this as well. Because the blue flame is roughly the size of Ganon, in the spot that he will appear in, is the same color of his skin and clothing, and condenses into a ball before becoming Ganon, the blue flame may have actually been Ganon's spirit. Thus, he was definitely not called into a trident.

-Because Twinrova's goal was to bring Ganon back from the dead, placing him in a body would be the most reasonable way of doing things. He'd be fully capable of leading his minions, and he'd truly be alive again. The fact that the sacrifice would (apparently) become a perfect body for him only reinforces this. Alternatively, his spirit would create a body for itself.

-The OoX trident is actually something that Ganon himself summons, and it has no importance; it's just an accessory that he doesn't even carry around with him. It's possible to never even see it in the fight, he doesn't appear with it, and he doesn't have it when he dies.

Timeline

-I don't really have a timeline, and I think that any attempt to connect all of the games will encounter problems and ultimately fail.

Misc.

-Nintendo doesn't really care about the timeline. Miyamoto even said so in a 2003 interview.

-Aonuma makes a game first and then tries to place it in the timeline, showing that he's not too dedicated to the timeline either.

What kind of a character is he going to be, and what kind of a personality is he going to have?" In that sense, for us, we didn't necessarily feel there was a need to have an infinitive connection between everything, because it was this idea that Link is the hero no matter what. He's here, and he's part of the story.
-In the early days of Zelda, things seemed to be more influenced by folklore, such as silver being an effective weapon against demons. However, by Ocarina of Time, Nintendo decided to take the series in a more fantasy-based direction. Thus, the Silver Arrows (effective against demons) became the Light Arrows (effective against darkness/evil).

-In addition to the above, since Link was predominantly a swordsman and the Master Sword had already been given importance and a reputation in A Link to the Past, Nintendo decided to change it into the key weapon for defeating evil.

-Ganon died in the first Legend of Zelda and A Link to the Past mainly because Nintendo didn't care much for connecting games back then. It's just like Bowser falling into a pit of lava and being left to melt in the old Mario games.

-Ganondorf and Ganon are the same person, and have always been the same person.

-The Silver Arrows don't destroy Ganon's soul; nothing does.

-If the Imprisoning War had to go anywhere, I'd say that it would go between FSA and ALTTP. Ganon is put in the Sacred Realm, breaks free of the Four Sword, and touches the Triforce. Monsters either wander into Hyrule or are purposely sent there. The king has the Sages (descendants of the FSA maidens) seal the passageway as a safety precaution.

-Sound & Drama is not canon, and neither is Ancient Stone Tablets.

That's it.

Viral's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

Started: October 28, 2008.

(Edit notes can be found at the bottom.)

Game Specific Topics

Legend of Zelda
-Ganon was possibly meant to wield the Trident, but could not because of graphical limitations.
-The Magical Sword is not the Master Sword.
-The land in which the game is played is only a small section of the Hyrule featured in AoL.

Adventure of Link
-Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
-The AoL BS takes place after PH.

A Link to the Past
-The GBA version, and the changes made in it, are more canon than the SNES version.

-All of forms of Nightmare are cannon, including Agahnim and Ganon.

Ocarina of Time
-Malon's mother was a Gerudo.
-Kaepora Gaebora is not Rauru.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the other six Ancient Sages.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the Hylian Knights.
-In the ending, Link was sent back to a point after he had left the forest, but before he had met Zelda, and the Door of Time could be opened from the inside.

Majora's Mask
-Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule.
-Skull Kid is the same one who you play Saria's Song for, and sell a mask to, in Ocarina of Time.
-The Stone Tower was not flipped by divine intervention, this was the result of the creators.
-The Garos brought the Light Arrows with the intention of flipping the Stone Tower.

Oracle of Seasons/Ages
-The games can be played in either order without major effects to the storyling, but Seasons-Ages is the more canon order.
-The Master Sword is cannon.
-Jabu Jabu is a descendent of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
-The linked game and ending are canon.
-The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm at the end of the linked game.

-The Kokiri took on a new form: the Koroks.
-Some of the Zoras evolved into Rito, some of them became "fierce Zoras" (Zola's), and others migrated out of Wind Waker's territory to other places, such as Labrynna.
-The plan of the Deku Tree and the Koroks to create more land with their seeds is a legitimate plot element for the rest of the series.

-Ganondorf may be a physical reincarnation of the ancient Gerudo King, but he may also just be an ordinary male Gerudo, with Ganondorf being a traditional Gerudo name.
-The Ganondorf in this game claims the Trident, and the spirit of OoT Ganon infested his body, creating the Ganon set-up for LttP.

-Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are mostly due to retcon.
-The Temple of Time is the same one from Ocarina of Time.
-Ganondorf and Zant became soulbound to each other.
-Zant is killed, but his spirit remains in tact due to the connection to Ganondorf.
-Although Ganondorf is stabbed, he is not phased, and speaks of the history of Light and Shadow. However, Zant is shown snapping his neck, followed by the ToP fading from Ganondorf's hand, and then his death.
-This represents Zant taking the ToP from Ganondorf.

Non-Game Specific Topics

The Fierce, Prolonged Wars
-The bloodshed amongst the people spoken about in A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess are the same set of events.
-These events predate Ocarina of Time.
-Sometime during these wars is when a group of magic wielders [incorrectly called Interlopers by Nintendo of America, but is still an accurate term (a fluke)] rose to power.
-The magic wielders are were made up of members of various tribes, and are not all of the same tribe, nor are they any entire tribe.

-Mainly takes place after PH, while the new Hyrule is found.

The Trident
-Ganon does not have the Trident in LoZ.
-Ganon's soul is not bound to the Trident.
-The Trident is born in OoX, after Ganon is revived.
-The Trident houses the unique demonic power that only Ganon posses. This allows the Trident to corrupt one who touches it, allowing Ganon's power to consume their body and allow him to be revived. This happens in FSA; Ganondorf of the Gerudo claims the Trident, and it's dark magic corrupts his body, and Ganon is reborn.

-The games in which Ganon bears the Japanese title "Yami no Maou", or "Demon King of Darkness", are connected, and cannot come inbetween games in which he his called "Daimaou".
-The Oracles games show the Daimaou Ganon's soul being called into Twinrova's body (as she is the Yorishiro) and hence he is revived. The Trident is also created/spawned, and Ganon proclaims he is now the Yami no Maou.

Timeline
-Ocarina of Time causes a timeline split, with games coming after both of its endings.
-Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link were always meant to be the immediate prequels to the Oracles, and nothing suggests that has changed.
-The Oracle of Ages past section of the game takes place after Wind Waker, but before Legend of Zelda.
-Link's Awakening comes after LttP.

Viral's current timeline:

[Adult]/ WW/PH - LoZ/AoL - OoX - MC - FS/FSA - LttP/LA
OoT<
[Child]\ MM - TP

Miscellaneous

-Light Arrows are not the same as Silver Arrows. Light Arrows only have the power to weaken the defenses of evil, Silver Arrows are the only thing that can kill Ganon.
-The Silver Arrows destroy Ganon's body. They "defeat him".
-The Silver Arrows do not destroy Ganon's soul.
-The ashes that remain are due to the ToP. As Ganon was killed, the ToP allowed his ashes to remain, enabling his minions to revive him.
-In LttP, there are no ashes because Ganon does not have the ToP. This is why he is completely destroyed.
-The Sacred Realm is but a small point in OoT. The Temple of Time was built on this small point.
-When Ganondorf touched the Triforce in OoT, the Sacred Realm became his Dark World (Makai).
-This Dark World remains consistant untill the end of LttP.
-Ganon's wish on the Triforce prior to LttP causes the Dark/Sacred Realm to expand/transform into a mirror of Hyrule.
-S&D, althought not fully canon, states that Ganon ordered his minions to take the Triforce from Hyrule castle and give it to him in the DW. I believe this happens, and since the Triforce is in 3 seperate pieces prior to LttP, Ganon is able to combine the pieces, allowing him to make his wish without the Triforce spliting.

Edits:

15/11/08
-Stated that the AoL BS mainly takes place after PH.

7/12/08
-Added info about the ToP's effects on Ganon in LoZ (his ashes). (Under Miscellaneous.)
-Added info about the Sacred Realm (expanding/corruption). (Under Miscellaneous.)

12/12/08
-Further updates to SR corruption, and solidified position that there was only the single original corruption of the SR (in OoT, lasts till LttP). (Under Miscellaneous.)
-Added info about Ganon obtaining the Triforce pieces before LttP, and his wish. (Under Miscellaneous.)

4/1/09
-S&D is not really canon, but the theory that Ganon recieved the 3 seperate Triforce pieces from his minions and then combined them to get his wish prior to LttP still stands.

18/2/09
-Updated views about the Yorishiro. It was Twinrova, not the Trident. However, because the Trident houses Ganon's dark magic, it can still corrupt people, which is what happens in FSA.

Wait I'm confused. If they were sent back in time to before they defeated Bellum. Time is obviously not nearly as linear as OoA. So then wouldn't that create a split? One where Bellum does get defeated. And one where he doesn't? Anyways I'll post all of my views at some time.

I can't really say for sure how that works. I'm no time expert, nor am I a big PH expert [I've seen the ending, but I don't own the game, so I've only played it halfway through]
That said, there's no way you can compare it to OoA, because OoA makes no sense in terms of time travel. There are three different consequences of time presented in the game, and only two kinds of time travel. OoA is where physics goes to die.

I am though.

The ocean King doesn't send Link back in time but rather, he bends it so that Time goes back to where they were after Bellum was defeated.

Now then...

Pinecove's personal veiws on points of controversy

Last updated: April 11 2009

Legend of Zelda
-Ganon does not weild the Trident as proved by the rerealease of Legend of Zelda on the GBA in 2004.
-The Magical Sword is not the Master Sword as proved by the rerealease of Legend of Zelda on the GBA in 2004.
-People are living in caves because Ganon took over.

The Adventure of Link
-Legend of Zelda Hyrule, as stated in its manual, is a "little kingdom" in the Hyrule region. Adventure of Link Hyrule is the region, with Legend of Zelda Hyrule being the small southwest portion.
-Maze Island is the same place as the one from Phantom Hourglass cobined with the isle of ruins.
-The Adventure of Link regions are in the eastern sea in Phantom Hourglass. Goron island from Phantom hourglass is Gron mountain from Oracle of seasons.

-The Dark world was completely obliterated by Ganon's own creations at the end of the game as shown from the palace of the four sword ending.
-The Master sword quote is completely valid.
-The golden sword and the Master sword are two seperate things.
-The Golden sword was the sword put to rest at the end of the game that is later used in Ancient stone tablets. Meanwhile the Master sowrd itself lies at te bottomof the great fairy fountain to sleep forever.

Link's Awakening
-The Wind Fish is a descendant of, and/or the same type of spiritual being as the Ocean King of Phantom Hourglass but has no relation to Jabu-Jabu from Ocarina of time, or Jabun from The Wind Waker.

Ocarina of Time
-Sharp and Flat were Hylian.
-The Sheikah used Gossip stones to spy on the various races of Hyrule.
-Malon's mother was not a Gerudo.
-The Desert Colossus is not representing Din.
-Kaepora Gaebora is Rauru.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the other five Ancient Sages.
-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the Hylian Knights.
-Link was sent back to a time after he'd pulled the Master sword but before he met Zelda.
-The Ancient Sages, with the exception of Rauru, are no longer alive but have new incarnations, the Ocarina of Time sages.
-Link became the Hero's shade from Twilight Princess.
-The song of storms paradox can be explained by the multiple concepts of time.

Majora's Mask
-Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule.
-Skull Kid is the same one who you play Saria's Song for, and sell a mask to, in Ocarina of Time.
-Majora and Great diety are both evil spirits sealed in masks.
- The Skull kid and the happy mask salesman are counterparts to eachother.
-There was a great war in Ikana.
-Majora is the devil of Termina.

Oracle of Seasons/Ages
-The games can be played in either order without major effects to the storyling, but Seasons-Ages is the more canon order.
-The Master Sword is Canon.
-Onox and Veran are Twili.
-Jabu Jabu is a descendent of Ocarina of Time's Jabu Jabu, and/or Wind Waker's Jabun.
-The linked game and ending are canon.
-The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm at the end of the linked game.
-The time traveling in Oracle of ages can be explaned using the concept of multiple times.

The Wind Waker
-Prior to Wind Waker, Ganon escaped the Sacred Realm Seal without breaking it.
-Ganon escaped the Sacred relam in the same way he escaped the flood seal.
-The rito are only half Zora.
-The plan of the Deku Tree and the Koroks to create more land with their seeds is a legitimate plot element for the rest of the series.
-Ganon's physical body was destroyed in the ending, but his spirit remained in tact to be revived in time for the oracle games.
-Thr Tower of the gods was made by the Ooocca like Twilight princess's Temple of time.

Four Swords Adventures
-The Dark Mirror is the Mirror of Twilight, but on a different timeline.
-The Dark World of Four Swords Adventures is not the corrupted Sacred Realm like in A Link to the Past, but instead, the Twilight Curtain.

-Vaati does not die at the end of the game.
-Mount Crenel is Goron island from Phantom Hourglass.
-Veil falls is the second peak of death mountain.

Twilight Princess
-Geography differences from Ocarina of Time are mostly due to retcon.
-The Temple of Time is the same one from Ocarina of Time.
-Ganondorf and Zant became soulbound to each other.
-Zants refusal to be revived led to Ganondorf's demise.
-Ganon is not alive in spirit as he was not exposed to the Triforce of Power.
-The state of the Triforce of Power in the ending is unknown.
-The Hero's shade is Link from Ocarina of Time.
-The Kokiri turned into the monkeys.

Phantom Hourglass
-The Realm of the Ocean King is an extension of the Great Sea.
-Similarily to the Wind Fish's ability to create things in a physical world by dreaming, the Ocean King has the power to change/warp a physical things in the physical world to the point of it being nearly another universe, though dreams are not required.
-The islands of Phantom Hourglass, with the help of the Koroks, eventually become the basis of the Hyrule seen in The Minish Cap.

-The Shadow Temple and the bottom of the well show that the Sheikah had ways of dealing with any who were not loyal to the Royal Family.

-"When Hyrule was one country" refers to the time period of The minish cap and every other game before LoZ when Hyrule no longer became one country.

-The Hero of Men is Switchblade I.
-The Picori Blade is not the Master Sword or any other previously seen sword.
-The Light Force is not a piece of the Triforce.
-The light force is the life force of the godesses.
-The minish cap's backstory takes place during the oracle games.

The Trident
-Even if Ganon wields the Trident in Legend of Zelda, he was not soul-bound to it.
-In A Link to the past, Ganon's soul is not inside the Trident.
-Ganon is only a Yami no maou when holding the Trident.

-The earlier use of "Jaaki no ou" in A Link to the Past is now "Yami no maou"
-Ganon is only a Yami no moau when he has the Trident.

Spinoffs
-Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is canon as it explains the origins of Tingle and has timeline implications. [see Timeline for further explanation]
-Ancient stone tablets may or may not be Canon. I'm in the process of figuring this out right now.
-BS: Legend of Zelda is Canon only if Ancient stone tablets is.

Timeline
-Ocarina of Time causes a timeline split, with games coming after both of its endings. These two timelines are called the "Adult Timeline" and the "Child Timeline".
-The time period when Hyrule was "a beautiful land surrounded by forests and mountains" references the age of Ocarina of Time.
-This makes any game with a water and/or island-based Hyrule impossible to place on the Child Timeline unless geo is considered non canon.
-Ocarina of Time is the Seal War in its entirety [as stated before] plus some other stuff with the building of the Temple of time.
-The Oracle of Ages past section of the game takes place after Wind Waker.
-Link's Awakening is either after A Link to the Past or the oracle games. This will be determined if Ancient stone tablets is Canon.
-Sheild design can not affect the Timeline as I proved in one thread of mine.
-Official art is Canon unless negated by some other source.
-If going by the second timeline, the SW is a collection of events, not just one.

Misc
-Light Arrows are not the same as Silver Arrows.
-The sliver arrowsonly destroy Ganon's body.
This is shown in the Japenese A Link to the past.
-The Godesses can reperesent multiple elements and multiple elements can be represented by the Godesses.
-Time is represented by all three of the golden goddesses.
-The Happy mask salesman is the devil of Hyrule.

Re: Personal Views on Points of Controversy II

Pretty much the same as Erimgard's........with some slite differences, see if you can find them...

LINKSOER's Personal Views on Points of Controversy

-The lumberjacks could be another form taken on by the Kokiri.

-During the seven years Link was asleep, Ganon killed the Hylian Knights.

-Link told Zelda about his adventure through time.

-The linked game and ending are canon.
-The Triforce returns to the Sacred Realm at the end of the linked game.

-Vaati's phissical body dies in the end, and therefore, must have been resurrected for Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures.

-The Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time.

-The six sages that have graves in Phantom Hourglass could be the Sages from Ocarina of Time, barring Zelda.

-The Shadow Temple and Bottom of the well shows that the Sheikah had ways of dealing with any who were not loyal to the Royal Family.

-This original sleeping Zelda, refers to her being the first Zelda in the New Hyrule
-Zelda from LoZ and Zelda from AoL are not the same person.

-The Hero of Men may be Swiftblade I, but is more likely a Link we have not seen in any game.

-The Oracle of Ages past section of the game takes place after Phantom Hourglass, but before Legend of Zelda.
-Link's Awakening was originally intended to be after A Link to the Past, but may possibly also be after the Oracles. Since the whole game was a dream it has no timeline relevance, and as implied by Shigeru Miyamoto, it is neither clear nor important where it belongs.

LINKSOER's current timeline:

[Adult]/WW-PH---(AoLBS)--LoZ-AoL---OoX--[FPTRR]--TMC---FS-FSA---aLttP-LA

-Nayru is the Goddess of Time.

Re: Personal Views on Points of Controversy II

I'll post whatever immediatley comes to mind and just add to this post later.

-When a sage dies it's spirit is reincarnated into a new body. When a sage produces children the children take over as sage. This explains how sages have been different races throuought the series.

-The Skull Kid from TP is the one from MM. The one from MM being the one from OoT is debatable.

- The widley believed divine prank theory is wrong. Lex's theory that Link closed the door of time and Ganon was sealed in allowing the sages to take him is more plausible.

- TP Link is related to OoT Link and Malon.

-OoT Link and Zelda being siblings is a possibility.

- White kids love hip hop.

- Zora and Rito are connected somehow but whether the connection is evolution or interbreeding is debatable.

- Ganondorf died in the executon scene but was revived by the tri-force.

- The reason Ganon doesn't care about the tri-force in TP is because he realizes the full extent of the ToP and thinks its so good he doesn't need the other two.

- King Bulbin is a punk.

- Link does not love Midna.

- Purlo is a Tingle who kept his original name.

- The tri-force of wisdom chooses it's wielder by their magical potential.

- WW Ganondorf wasn't fat.

- The Happy Mask salesman is a guardian diety of some sort. Possibly an agent of the goddess of time.

- The goddess of time is farore.

I'll probably add to this later.
