there is another reason, it could be due to tectonic movement, and death mountain could be on a fault line.

Dude, 2k is not that far. I'm betting that it's being held up by another part of the mountian underwater.
Trust me, this is way more likely than Spectacle Rock being lost from Death Mountian. I mean, come on, Specatle Rock is hooked to Death Mountian.
