TP almost works on the adult timeline

I used to think TP was on the adult timeline, and that Zant's hatred
reached across the Twilight Realm to the Evil Realm and that was
how Ganondorf came back to Hyrule in TP.
It would also explain how the Temple of Time got ruined...it
collapsed when Ganon kidnapped Adult OOT Zelda.
However, it does not explain why the Temple of Time used to be
in pristine condition in the Sacred Grove, and it must be in the
child branch since Ganondorf was sealed in the Twilight Realm
instead of the Evil Realm. Unless they took him out of
the Evil Realm for his execution which I doubt.

TP is on the child timeline, I am just surprised at how well the
adult timeline fits if you aren't careful.

The line about Zan'ts hatred reaching across realms or whatever...is NoA bullcrap. It's not in the Japanese version.

And I am pretty sure that TP has been confirmed to be in the Child Time line in the first place. And TWW takes place hundreds of years after adult OoT

Huh?

The original poster said Zant's hatred bled from the Twilight Realm and into the Evil realm. I'm pretty sure NoA made the english version of TP so that Zant's hatred bled across the realm of Twilight... there was nothing about the evil realm in that.

Also... do you have the quote for the Japanese version? I'd like to read what it says. Probably just no mention of Zant making Ganondorf powerful again yeah?

Top line is Japanese text, second line is literal translation, third line is NoA translation.

Quote:
Ganondorf:
ようこそ、我が城へ
Welcome to my castle.
Welcome to my castle.

Midna:
オマエが・・・ガノンドロフか・・・ 死ぬほど 会いたかったぜ
So you're… Ganondorf… I've been dying to meet you.
So you're...Ganondorf. I've been dying to meet you.

Ganondorf:
わずかな力を宿した程度で、神に逆らい 見捨てられた 哀れな一族よ
Pitiful clan, to defy the gods with so little power, only to be forsaken.
Your people have long amused me, Midna. To defy the gods with such petty magic, only to be cast aside... How very pathetic.

お前達の苦悶が、血肉の糧となり
Your agony was the nourishment for my flesh and blood.
Pathetic as they were, though, they served me well. Their anguish was my nourishment.

憎悪は力となって、我を目覚めさせた
The hatred turned into power, and awakened me.
Their hatred bled across the void and awakened me. I drew deep of it and grew strong again.

Well, considering TP was originally designed for the Adult Timeline, it makes sense that lots of things fit better with that picture of things.

1) Temple of Time being miles away from Castle Town: Castle Town was destroyed in the Adult Timeline. If this has nothing to do with the Adult Timeline, then the fact that the original spot where Hyrule Castle was intended to be was turned into the ruins surrounding the Bridge of Eldin is telling, as well.

2) Legends of a hero who saved Hyrule: Link saved Hyrule in Adult OoT.

3) Triforce parts in the possession of the chosen wielders: Ganon touched the Triforce in Adult OoT.

4) Ganon in custody of the sages: Ganon was sealed in Adult OoT.

Thanks for that translation man, I always trust the Japanese than American storylines because I hate the way NoA changes things out of text. Like in AoL the japanese intro is different than the American one

...of course the SNES Link to The Past (American name)

Triforce of the Gods (Japanese name)

MM clears that up by saying the Royal Family passed that story down.

Indeed, little explanation is given, but it seems to be contradicted by the fact that Ganondorf cares nothing for the other two pieces, and is quite cocky about having one. A far cry from OoT and WW.

Well, the circumstances seem different, and there are less sages in TP than OoT.

But still, I can definitely see some "leftovers" from the time when the game was considered pre-WW.

Heh, unfortunately that's the least of the NoA screwups involving aLttP.
Check out how they butchered virtually the entire manual:

Everybody knows the stories; MM implies that the story is kept only by the Royal Family.

His failure to succeed with his single piece in TP could explain his renewed interest in obtaining them in TWW.

Same goes for his interest in removing the Master Sword's power (after it kills him).

Based on the description given in the game, I see no differences.

He invaded Hyrule (check)
He was exposed and subdued (check)
He held a power that only he possessed (check)

He was "brought to justice" in the execution scene in order to "put an end to his evil magic," which would have happened after OoT, of course.

The number of sages is a misnomer, as Zelda is one of them. The "six sages" are the protectors of Hyrule, and Zelda is the leader of the sages (and a seventh sage herself).

So he goes from being insecure with just one piece in OoT, to being cocky and passing himself off as a god with just one piece in TP, to wanting the others again in WW? There's nothing to explain why he'd be cocky about having only one piece in TP, since he was defeated by a child with one piece in OoT. He should be insecure and realize there are others with the same level of power.

He's hurt pretty badly by it in OoT, yet say it's nothing more than a good blade in TP.

The TP sages say they have been guarding the Mirror since the ancient times when the Interlopers were banished, and thus cannot be the same sages as the ones in OoT, and cannot be their replacements either.

When you return there though, the building is still in tact.

eh, my theory is that this happens so late in the game that there is
not really enough to validate the addition of new graphics from a
productions schedule/budget standpoint.

not that it matters...

He seemed pretty secure with only the Triforce of Power at the end of OoT, thanks to his final speech: "I will exterminate your descendants! As long as the Triforce of Power is in my hand..." Since it pretty much permits him to thwart death, to a large extent, perhaps he sees himself as invincible. Therefore, once he figures out he's not immortal at the end of TP, he would want the other parts again.

He was hurt pretty badly by the sages' sword, too, but the important thing to note is that he didn't die.

Unless the "sages" are simply a collective group, and not a group of particular individuals.
