Kokori Death, not a curse?

Alright, we know that if the Kokri leave the forest they will die, but why?

Could it be that perhaps if they leave the forest they will age, instead of having the life sucked out of them or some curse or something? This could be possible, jsut as if a Zora leaves water for to long they will die, the forest is the energy source for the kokri that keeps them eternally young. coudl this mean perhaps Gorons will also die if they leave Death mountain?

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

There was a thread like this a while back...
It could mean several things:
If they leave, they won't be forever young anymore
The world outside Kokiri Forest is dangerous, so they will die without the Deku Tree's protection.

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

Kokiri's are seen outside of the at the festival at the end of OoT. Kokiri don't die when they leave the woods, the Deku Tree probably told them that to protect them from the dangers of the outside world...

Well they could have left the forest just for the celebration. I mean its not liek they are gonna age instantly, it would take time.

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

Kay, back on topic people.

The Deku Tree probably tells the Kokiri they will die just to protect them. They're kids after all, and as such he doesnt want them going out getting hurt or whatever. Nothing suggests they age once they leave the forest.

A good example is WW. The Kokiri and Koroks are the same, and the Koroks are able to fly around the Sea, without aging or dying.

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

The koroks are highly speculated to have evolved from the kokiri. They can travel far from their home without dying.

At the end of OoT there are kokiri outside of the forest. Maybe the Deku sprout (or Saria) used some kind of forest magic to allow the kokiri to leave for a limited time. Why? To celebrate Ganondorf's defeat of course.

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

You make the assumption that they will die, when in fact its never even mentioned. THey just know they cannot leave the forest, or shouldn't leave. At the end of OoT they are clearly seen at the Festival. Also Link, up until he pulled the he thought he was Kokiri. Yet he had no real problem leaving.

I think that the Deku Tree can protect the Kokiri from evil, however this power only extends as far as the forest. If the Kokiri leave they will be in danger like anyone else.

Re: Kokori Death, not a curse?

the kokiri dont die if they leave the forest, its only a tale made it by the deku tree to protec the kokiris, the kokiris are a eternal childs, a forest spirits.
In the end of the game we can see some kokiris in lon lon ranch, and a gossip stone say that one kokiri leave the forest and he is still alive.

Well in TP we get an insight into the Gorons. They obviously can live in places other than DM but prefer DM's fresh air. Pretty obvious.
