Erimgard's thread made me want everyone's two cents. Is the game a canon part of the timeline? If so, where does it go? It features locations like Death Mountain but the english version translated this as Mount Desma. Oinkers seem to basically be Moblins. So is it Hyrule? More importantly - does it matter?

One other bone of contention. Having played the game through and through and read a few walkthroughs, I'm pretty sure the whole 'universe warping' thing is a myth - it's not in the game, nor is it mentioned.

It DOES imply that rupees are like Force Gems, however - Tingle dies without them and they can be used to fuel magical attacks in the final boss battle.

Discuss.

(Personally I have no idea. It could even be the first game in the timeline for all I know)

I believe all of the "spin-off" games to be canon in the sense that they are real happenings, but most of them are left out because they have no timeline relevance.
However, because of the reference to OoX, the fact that the geography supports a Korok Hyrule, and similar places [Mount Desma, Lon Lon Meadows] I believe it to be important enough to include in a timeline...and I do include it:

I place it after OoX, and before MC.

Because Nintendo actually went through the effort to make a game that is Zelda, (just without Zelda & Link in it). I think it's safe to assume that it does fall into the timeline somewhere . . . where? Your guess is as good as mine.

I say it's semi-canon. You don't have to include it, but you may.

I'd say it is canon but before Majora's Mask.

The game makes it clear that "Tingle" is a title, not a name, therefore previous Tingles likely existed before FPTRR's one did.

I don't know how canonically RR should apply. I doubt if the plot of RR will have any effect on any Zelda game, but Zelda games obviously effect RR. It might be that RR can still be useful as a way of seeing the nature of the objects (such as rupees) in the eyes of the developers.

Not unless he becomes plot related in a game. His cameos aren't really an effect.

Rupees only act as force gems do towards Tingle whose life depends on them.

Id say semi canon, in that it adds to the timeline and the series, but im not so sure it takes anything away.

Then RR could had no conical effect on it. If nothing from RR makes it into a game, then it was irrelevant to it.
